Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 OOC: @Brickdoctor - which would be better to attack from, the back row or the front row? QM Note:For Rangers, it doesn't matter.
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Results of Round Three of the Pongcanis Attack: Sir Leo the Sentinel vs. Pongcanis Rogue - Critical Hit Xander Unth'or vs. Pongcanis Barbarian - Miss Thormanil Nihai vs. Pongcanis Knight - Special Damage >Cinna the Dark vs. Pongcanis Knight - Hit Ad-Hoh vs. Pongcanis Rogue - Hit >Benji Carvenhall vs. Pongcanis Ranger - Critical Hit De'kra vs. Pongcanis Knight - Critical Hit Tomas vs. Pongcanis Rogue - Critical Hit With the tide of battle turned in their favor, the heroes are now looking for a quick end to the fight. Under cover of his Sentinel Power, Sir Leo slashes at the Rogue, who isn't quick enough to avoid taking the 12 Damage of a Critical Hit. Xander's hammer misses its target. The Knight tries to simultaneously taunt Thormanil and take the Sentinel position, which works...until he's blasted off his feet by Cinna's Elemental Hit. Ad-Hoh turns against the Rogue, who is so weak now that the hero doesn't even need magic to defeat the beast. Benji lines up his shot from behind the melee attackers and fires a Critical Hit into the Ranger, taking him down. His original target defeated, De'kra turns his attention to the Barbarian, and finally lands a hit, a Critical Hit, to end the battle. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain a level of experience, so update your signatures accordingly. The enemies drop six weapons, one shield, and an Amethyst Gem (darkness). ADHO15 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 OOC: My bad. Thank, Tanma. There's a lot to remember. Sorry for the confusion! "Congratulations everyone! You all fought well. I would not mind taking that amethyst seeing as Cinna already has one, and then doing without a weapon. I suggest we visit the Meeting House first. It might be easier to question all the locals in one place, should they all be there when we arrive."
Tanma Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 De'kra stares in amazement as the barbarian falls beneath his blade. The giant tumbles to the group, as its blood splashes to the ground. As the enemies eyes grow silent, De,kra nods in satisfaction. Turning away from the corpse, De'kra clicks, "I only one who use daggers, I take it? I have five attack weapon now, but might quest fail I loose it. Also, I not think homes good plan, Mopag might not want strangers in their huts."
Tamamono Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) "We are victorious!" "I will now heal Ad-Hoh and heal Benji." "Now for the loot. I will give the Pongcanis Club (WP: 5) to Xander, the Pongcanis Staff (WP: 5) to myself, Pongcanis Shield (SP: 3) to Leo, Pongcanis Mage's Staff (WP: 5) to Cinna, the Amethyst Gem to Ad-Hoh, the Pongcanis Crossbow (WP: 5) to Benji, and the Pongcanis Dagger (WP: 5) to De'kra. The Pongcanis sword is only useable by knights, but I already gave something to Leo. Thormanil, do you want the sword? You could always sell it when we get back to the Hall." swils Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Great fight, folks! We really let 'em have it! Now, I'd gladly forgo that club (or otherwise), if there was any chance I could lay claim to that gem after we've sorted this whole raiding business out. Would make for a fine enchantment the next time I've got some time to kill in Eubric, though of course I'd be more than willing to see it put to good use by Ad-hoh for the duration of the quest. Food for thought, y'know. We're already outside the town walls, I say we visit the fields, then the houses around midday. Perhaps Sir Leo can smoothtalk the Mopag into hosting us for lunch! Ha ha! Tanma Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 OOC: for clarification, De'kra used up his potion in the fight. Likewise I am pretty sure his health is only 11; as he started out with seven health, and has since gained four ranks. Not that I am complaining. De'kra nodded at the barbarian, as he had similar plans. Should he ever acquire a gem, the shade would fuse it to one of his many blades. That way if he faces an undead foe he can do greater damage. The other blade(s) would be kept plain, so that he could use them in case the foe was immune to his gem's might. Hopefully it would be an Topaz, as that gem has three types weak to it, but only one foe that is immune. In this way it is the strongest gem in the world.
TheBoyWonder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Excuse me, I do not wish to be unhelpful, I will give in my smoke bomb to thormanil, but may I have the sword?

QM Note: Yesterday I increased everyone's health by one, thinking I'd forgotten to do that at the end of the last battle when I checked the Base Health and Levels, and forgetting that Level 1 doesn't add to the Base Health.

De'kra clicked, "Might good to see reaction of Mopags to Leo. He knight and use lion as symbol, Mopag might think he Lion Knight. Mopags immature, they might believe it. Mopags might say things they not say to heroica. You thoughts?"
TheBoyWonder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Good idea, my crest emblazoned on my shield and armour may trick them. It is worth a shot.
swils Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Sir Leo, you have been nothing short of generous with your shield. I would be a selfish fool to deny you a stronger blade! Please, keep your smokebomb as well. Turning tail isn't exactly in my nature. And Ad-Hoh, if you have plans to infuse your blade as well, then don't let me stop you. I'm sure we'll be seeing more fancy gear as we unravel this mystery further, so perhaps I'll just rack up some loot-karma! Haha!
TheBoyWonder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Thank you, kind and generous Thormanil. Yes, I agree with my crests I should be able to talk them round. Lets do it!

Haha! QM Note:You got the Pongcanis Tongue (WP: 0), remember?
Darkdragon Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Cinna gladly accepts the new mages staff. "Thank you and great job everyone. For such big mean creatures, they sure did have some nice weapons. I'm very glad we did not become dinner for them. I think we should talk to mopags in the fields first, but we need to be quick so we can talk to others also and don't have to spend another night here."
swils Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 What the..? Thormanil reaches into his pack and pulls out the tongue I could have sworn I tossed you away... Pondering how the tongue had returned to his possession, he concluded that, being the mage's tongue afterall, it must have magically willed itself there. Or perhaps someone was toying with him. Either way, he put the Pongcanis Tongue (WP: 0) back in his pack.
Tamamono Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Excuse me, I do not wish to be unhelpful, I will give in my smoke bomb to thormanil, but may I have the sword? "Yes, of course! And don't worry Thormanil, I'm sure you'll get something good next time we 'strike gold'!" "About where to go next, I think the Meeting House might be a good idea - especially if Sir Leo can use his diplomacy skill to our advantage."
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 We make the Mopag fields our first stop. It's not far from our campsite. (though Mopag being the small settlement that it is, nothing is really far from any other part of the settlement) The fields are fenced off, and behind the fences grow a number of unusual plants. One of the farmers is exiting the field as we approach. "Oh hai! Welcome to Mopag! I'm Commander Arthur Saunterton of the 18th Farming Division! Can I help ya?" "About where to go next, I think the Meeting House might be a good idea - especially if Sir Leo can use his diplomacy skill to our advantage." QM Note:Ugh, sorry, didn't see your post while I posted, and everyone wanted to go to the fields. No worries, you can see all three locations, and order doesn't matter.
swils Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 While Leo steps forward to introduce the party, Thormanil snickers and jokes to the rest of the group, in a hushed tone, Heh heh, the "18th Farming Division"? Get a load of this guy.. How many farming divisions does a small town like Mopag need? Or even have? He glances up to make sure the farmer-captain hadn't heard him, but he appears to be thoroughly engaged in conversation with Leo.
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Thormanil's whispering makes the farmer stare hard at the party. "Say, you're those travelers from Heroica, right? Heh. Sorry, I'm just plain Arthur Saunterton. The titles are just to make the kids think I'm important so they don't bother me when I'm busy. Don't have any myself, but just between you and I..." Arthur leans closer. "...Mopag kids are MegaBlokin' annoying. "So, anything I can help you with? I assume you're on a quest? We rarely seen heroes all the way out here."
Tanma Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 OOC: the horror! It's eyes are as wide as it's hands! How many potions has this guy had in the last ten minutes? De'kra looked at strange pink figures with interest. If this character was the norm, the Mopag appeared to be a distant cousin to the humans and the elves. Much like elves and humans the Mopag had one head, two arms, two legs, one mouth, two eyes(at least that De'kra could see), and hair solely on their head's top. And just like el es had visible ears, the Mopags had pale skin and larger eyes. There was something about subspecies with different eyes that struck the shade, but he didn't mention this.
TheBoyWonder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Do you know anything about the Lion Knights, and where they have last been sighted?
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Do you know anything about the Lion Knights, and where they have last been sighted? "Why yes, I do. I was taking some of our exports down to R'Kilf a couple days ago, and I saw a Lion Knight there. There was an unusually large amount of Brobric Elves there, too."
TheBoyWonder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 We have needed a lead like this for a while. The PL would only say yes so lets start the journey if Cinna approves!
Tamamono Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 We have needed a lead like this for a while. The PL would only say yes so lets start the journey if Cinna approves! "While this is an important piece of information, I think we should at least visit the other locations in Mopag first."
