Tamamono Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 "Where do you want to go to?" "Let's head to the Eubric Plains."
Brickdoctor Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 "Let's head to the Eubric Plains." "How do you wish to get there? You can go back to Eubric and then travel along the Eubric Highway or go through Brobric Pass to Bric'Lin and travel along the Eubric Highway. Both of those options will take four Nights. Or, you can hike straight through the mountains and the Eubric Forest for six Nights."

Along the way we can stop by the old shed in Triad Park and see what we can find out about the parchment."

Tanma Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 IC: De'kra nods and clicks, "I agree. Heroes and I need to continue. Heroes and I no know how long before Lion Knights attack, it best might heroes and I not waste much time. I have question, I was think about it while other Makuta play card game. Might outsiders were come to Eubric, why Boat-House not react? Boat-House drove off orcish invasion long ago, why boat-house not react now?" The shade waited for a response, worried that the Bonepartes might also be allied with the Lion Knight invaders.
Brickdoctor Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 We're about to begin the journey back to Eubric when, ahead of a cloud of dust, a procession of colorfully decorated horses thunders into the village in a blur of green and gold and disappears around a bend. "They'll go to the stables first. We must be inside the elven building, quickly." Seaian leads us back to the elven building and into a large, cavernous room. There is one door at the other end, and it's covered with a pair of furs. "The Ceremonial Entrance Hall. Once used to welcome home prominent elves, but, if you ask me, it's a lot of pompous foolishness. Only one elf bothers to use it." There's a flash of light as the furs are thrown aside. Two younger elves enter, one carrying a standard, the other turns around to help a third elf out of his dusty brown traveling cloak. "Lord Keveak." Exuding his normal level of overconfidence and self-importance, Lord Keveak approaches the heroes. "Ah, heroes! I see you made it to Brobric safely! I hope that incompetent nincompoop of a bookworm, Normorn, didn't bore you to death with his fancy learning and lack of honor or manners."
Flare Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "Hello sir! Good to see you again!" Thankfully there are no harpstrings to break to show that Benji is lying. OOC: I am hoping it is just a coincidence that you are using that head on the most impertinent fellow in the game... as you are from MocPages originally like me I think you get what I'm saying...

I hope that incompetent nincompoop of a bookworm, Normorn, didn't bore you to death with his fancy learning and lack of honor or manners." "No, not at all!" "In fact, we had a very pleasant time."
Tanma Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 IC: De'kra noted that the elve lords seemed to have a rivalry, even in a time of war. He would have thought that during a war you put aside your differences completely to defend your people. Still it wasn't like the two lords we're engaging in battle, it was merely an insult or two. De'kra realized that once more he would have to revise his understand of social interactions between the Ulanders. He also didn't understand that Rome-ant-icism sickness that those two heroes, but he figured that said emotion was his limit, and everything else could one day be understood. Hopefully.
Brickdoctor Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 "No, not at all!" "In fact, we had a very pleasant time." "Uh-huh. I wonder what kind of devious, esoteric mind control that humbug of an elf exerted to make you think that. "So, what are your plans, now?"
ADHO15 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "So, what are your plans, now?" "We plan to head back to Eubric and then search the Plains for signs of the Lion Knights. We hear they had set up camp there, so we are on our way to investigate, maybe running a couple of errands in the town on our way."
Tamamono Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "Uh-huh. I wonder what kind of devious, esoteric mind control that humbug of an elf exerted to make you think that. "Mind control? Master did not exert mind control on us." "So, what are your plans, now?" "We are going to attempt to infiltrate the Lion Knight camp. They were last seen near the Eubric Highway, so that's where we're headed."

They were last seen near the Eubric Highway, so that's where we're headed." "Did you hear that from Normorn? If I were you I'd do the exact opposite of whatever he told you to do. "About eleven winters ago, there was another group of heroes that came to the Brobric Elves for help. Like naive fools, they listened to Normorn as if what he spoke was divine revelation. He told them that the treasure they sought was in Brobric Pass. They died there, every single one of them. Needless to say, the treasure - "Normorn's Folly", as I like to call it - was never found. "If you ask me, Normorn shouldn't even hold a position within our leadership. I tell you, he's using some sort of mind control to ensure he stays in Lord Ricroar's good graces. For sixteen winters, I have attempted to convince Lord Ricroar that Normorn is useless dead weight. We don't need spies. Someday, I promise myself, it'll be different. I just have to find a way to prove Normorn wrong."
ADHO15 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "Did you hear that from Normorn? If I were you I'd do the exact opposite of whatever he told you to do. "Very well. Where do you suggest we take our investigation, Lord Keveak?"
Brickdoctor Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 "Very well. Where do you suggest we take our investigation, Lord Keveak?" "Investigation? I suggest you don't investigate anything at all. I know the Shadeaux want you to go sneaking around - typical of them - but if I were you, I'd join the elven forces and march across the island, flushing the invaders out. Like I said, we don't need spies. Normorn is wrong, and it's my life's mission to prove it."

"So you are saying that my fellow heroes and I should wait here in Brobric until the Elivish army is ready to wage war on the Lion Knights? I think our party has some discussing to do."

"Although I do admire your bravery, I must say that in 'sneaking around' you'd lose far less men (elves? ) than in just charging in and trying to kill as many Lion Knights as you can. Besides, if you were going to try and 'flush them out' of Uland, wouldn't you have to find them first? And wouldn't that require use of Lord Normorn's spies?"

They recognize the honor of waging war without sneaking around. We wait only for Lord Ricroar's permission to set out. We'll draw the enemy out or scare them off with our numbers."

Surely gathering as much intelligence as possible and carrying out reconnaissance prior to directly engaging the enemy in battle can only aid our cause? I signed up for a quest, not a war. What is your strategy? To line the coasts of Uland to intimidate the armies waiting off-shore?" To party: "Although I hate to say it, we did sign a contract saying that we would follow the orders of Lord Keveak. While we are not opposing the Brobric Elves by visiting the Plains, we are ignoring Lord Keveak. What do you think we should do?"

I'm here to rally my troops and convince Lord Ricroar that the time to act is now. He won't refuse me when I have three-quarters of the entire elven army backing me. If you disagree with my plan of action, so be it." Keveak pulls a piece of parchment out of his cloak and writes something on it. "I'm releasing you from your charter. I don't want to see you and your deceitful ways in Brobric ever again. If I do, my troops will arrest you. And remember, with the amount of troops I command, with any luck, by the time the Lion Knights have been expelled from Uland, I will have replaced Lord Ricroar as the leader of the Brobric Elves. "Bring him in!" A Barbarian is pushed into the room. Xander Unth'or has rejoined the party! Xander Unth'or (played by posades) Level 5 Barbarian Power: 9 Health: 12/12 Gold: 10 Inventory: Pongcanis Club (WP: 5), Shadeaux Hammer (WP: 4), Enigmatic Hammer (WP: 3), Potion, Mead, Grand Potion "And I hope you haven't tainted the mind of the guide I assigned to you." Seaian has left the party! "Now leave! All of you!"
Tanma Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 De'kra turns to the group and clicks, "Things change fast here. Heroes and I head back towards Eubric now? Nothing more heroes and I can do here. Also, heroes and I have two clues to look at in Eubric. Best heroes and I hurry."
ADHO15 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 OOC: Oops! Sorry everyone, I didn't mean to get us into trouble! "Well it seems we are now free of the stubborn and power-hungry, Lord Keveak. We have a few leads and Xander is back with us once more. Should we continue with our plan to go back to Eubric, visit Triad Park and then travel into the Plains? Hopefully the Lion Knights won't have moved on by then, if they were ever camping there to begin with."

And I don't much care for how he's so hell-bent on usurping Ricroar's power. By the way, who the heck *is* Lord Ricroar? Wonder if he knows that one of his higher-ups is out for his seat of power? I think we should go on with our plan, we haven't got much else to do, anyhow, now that we're not working for Keveak. Oh, and welcome back, Xander! How'd Keveak treat ya?
