swils Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 "Look at all that loot!" "I will give the pickaxe to Thormanil and the shovel to Benji. It seems that everyone who needs a bedroll has one. Does anybody want this one to sell/trade when we get back to the Hall?" Thank ya kindly, Tomas. Might be wise to just have you hold onto any extra, oh, what are the kids calling it these days, phat lewtz?, until we're done with this whole quest. Would be a lot easier to spread the excess around afterwards, so that everyone ultimately leaves with a relatively fair share. Now, we're moving pretty quickly, I don't think the distance between tents is going to matter; rather, it's the searching the tents that takes time. And I'm really curious about the blotched-name tent. Maybe there'll be time after dealing with the reinforcements to search the rest of 'em, but I think we should make our way over there immediately. Mr. Shawe, as far as I know, you're only human, but then again, you might have some spooky echolocation abilities. Any chance you can estimate how many more tents we've reasonably got time to search?

Brickdoctor Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 You run over to the tent whose name had been smudged on the map. It's a lot like the other tents, except for one thing: This one has people in it. They turn to you in surprise. "Why did it not occur to any of us that the 'B' on the map might have been the first letter in 'Barracks'?" "Well, what have we here?"
Tamamono Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 "Well, what have we here?" "Greetings, sir knight. We are traveling merchants, and we've come to see if you and your companions would like to buy anything." Tomas whispers quietly, "Leo, if need be, we may have to use your diplomacy skill. The guards at the entrance are dead. When we were walking down Eubric Highway, we were attacked by a band of ruffians. They took most of our wares and almost killed us, but we were able to get away and hide in the bushes near your campsite here. The ruffians entered your camp a short while later and killed the guards at the entrance. They then proceeded to loot your supply tent and the servants' tent. They may not be able to swing a blade to save their life, but they'll fix ya right up. Good thing your camp was here to distract those thugs, though, else we might not be standin' here askin' your help right now. Seems we owe ya one!

"Sir, I just checked at the entrance. Both guards are down, and one of them has a helmet that looks like it's been bashed in by a giant hammer!" "Well, aren't we lucky! This, ah, traveler-merchant-cleric has the power restore the guards' Health and fix the helmet. Bring the guards in here." "Right away, sir."

However, there is a drawback to my special power. In order for my power to be restored, I must drink a Grand Tonic mixed with a Phoenix Essence and several other ingredients, such as four newt eyeballs and three leaves from a birch tree."

I do not think my magical abilities reach the realms of helmet repair."

In the mean time, I'll make sure you're given appropriate living quarters among the Lion Knights. Those clumsy ruffians broke every Phoenix Essence and Grand Tonic we had! Anyways, if you catch the thieves, we'll be able to make my 'super tonic'. I saw about five guards marching around outside; why don't you send them? And while you're at it, you could send the crossbowman. I'm sure he'd do well against those ruffians!"
