Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "I'm certainly glad no one was in this tent! Let's move on to Tent F." You see that Tent F is all but identical to Tent C, and there's no one inside this one, either. Obviously, the majority of the guards are out in the fields and not in the camp right now.

Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "As I mentioned before we barged into the barracks, we should really go to the fields as that is the place the guards were most worried about."
Tamamono Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "As I mentioned before we barged into the barracks, we should really go to the fields as that is the place the guards were most worried about." "Good point, Cinna. Maybe we should head there next?"
Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "Yes, I think we should head there right now. We should be prepared to retreat though. Whatever we find there I think it is going to be huge and bad. Initially we weren't really suppose to barge into the camp and start killing folks, just find out what they were up to." nervous chuckle.
Flare Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "Whatever we do, we must be careful. It would be a shame to fail a mission when we have almost solved it."
posades Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 It seems like this camp is mainly a resting ground for the lion troops here. Although I'm curious as to what the other tents hold, Cinna makes a good point.

I have a feeling that we're going to have to fight hordes and hordes of Lion Knights when we get out there, so we need to be prepared. Maybe we should visit a couple more tents first to see what we can find in them." "Mr. Shawe, how long until the nine Lion Knights are upon us?" Edited November 11, 2011 by Captain Tamamono
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "Mr. Shawe, how long until the nine Lion Knights are upon us?" "The five stopped to wait for the four. You have time to search one tent."

Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "I see. In that case, I think we should head to the fields for now." You can see some figures moving around in the distance in the field, but nothing more. The gate is locked shut, and the fence is too high to get through and is reinforced with metal plates here and there. If you enter the field, the knights inside it will notice. "This is one of the premier locations for growing wheat on Uland. I wonder what the Lion Knights want with it. "The guards are approaching quickly, but they're confused because you aren't in the camp itself. You have time to search one more tent."

Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "Let's try Tent B next." You enter Tent B, which is also empty. Two chests are present in the corners of the tent, and one crate serves as a table in the center, upon which a lantern and two parchments are placed.

Tanma Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) IC: De'kra clicks, "Heroes think Lion Knights might change wheat, Lion Knights make wheat bad for Uland denizens to eat? It make take over easier? Guide, you know who need wheat here, and might Crownies part ouf it?" Edited November 11, 2011 by Tanma
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "I would like to read the parchments." The bigger parchment is a copy of the map of Uland, but it's been written on: The smaller parchment is a letter that hasn't been sent yet. We'll be at the old Hinckwell House in Bric'Lin to finalize the purchase in two days. I hear the Brobric Elves are going to be there, too, just because we are. Hopefully, we can talk some sense into their war-obsessed brains. IC: De'kra clicks, "Heroes think Lion Knights might change wheat, Lion Knights make wheat bad for Uland denizens to eat? It make take over easier? Guide, you know who need wheat here, and might Crownies part ouf it?" "Actually, I think the Hinckwells own this piece of land."
Tamamono Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The bigger parchment is a copy of the map of Uland, but it's been written on: "Interesting... I wonder what those X's mean?" The smaller parchment is a letter that hasn't been sent yet. "Actually, I think the Hinckwells own this piece of land." "Between the 'old Hinckwell house' and this piece of land, it's definitely looking like the Lion Knights are in league with the Hinckwells." "Would it be possible to pry open some of those crates?"
Tanma Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 IC: De'kra clicked, "It possible might might Lion Knights only buy more farm land, and not try to conquer Eubric?. Heroes and I know elves no like outsiders, perhaps they hate outsiders even if outsiders not hostile. Might Crownies sell farms to Lion Knights because of famine in Lion Knight homeland?" The shade waits for an answer, while wondering if they have failed this quest. Of course, they were only hired to get to the bottom of this, so perhaps all was not lost...
Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "I will make note of the locations of the X's and the letter info, but I think we should neatly fold these and place them where we found them so they don't know we were in this tent at all. If we look through anything else, we should be careful not to make much of a change in outward appearance of things. This way they might not change their plans."
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "Would it be possible to pry open some of those crates?" "The chests? I don't see why you can't try." You grab a sword, dagger, and pickaxe from among the party's inventory and proceed to attempt to open the chests. The first chest isn't even locked, and it's empty. It looks like it's used to hold armor. "This is clearly the commander's tent." You use the pickaxe to smash open the second chest, which contains a fur-lined bedroll and a piece of paper. The paper is a list of about 30 soldiers, including 5 knights, and 20 peasants. It has a few notes scribbled on it: Brobric Elves clearly don't want us here. Should have brought more men to protect ourselves. Avoid war at all costs. Wouldn't be able to survive a war, unless there was some sort of cheap source of weaponry on Uland with which we could arm the peasants. Hinckwells think the Shadeaux present a greater threat than the Elves. Some more notes are slightly smudged in places: -xpanding th- -ural empire i- -nly goal. -ect the Hinckw- -ield before -ing it.

Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) Cinna sighs at the smashing of the chest. "I don't know that he would beleive us or even care. He'd probably think we were just trying to trick him and get his men elves slaughtered." Edited November 11, 2011 by darkdragon
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "Also, can we keep the bedroll? It looks very comfortable." QM Note:Um... Sure, why not. Fur-lined Bedroll - The user regains twice as much Health and/or Ether as he would if he were using a normal Bedroll.
swils Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Cinna sighs at the smashing of the chest. "I don't know that he would beleive us or even care. He'd probably think we were just trying to trick him and get his men elves slaughtered." Oh, come on Cinna, it wasn't openin'! And look, we've got this new information that changes everything now. Of yer so concerned, gather up the splinters and hide 'em in the other chest! Heh. Being honest, we've got two choices. Fight our way out of the camp and pray that Keveak isn't too hellbent on waging war, or surrender ourselves to the guards and try to work this out all peaceful-like. Tell 'em we were duped by Keveak and the elves. Now, I love smashing me some faces, but something tells me Keveak isn't gonna give us the time of day.
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 "So they aren't here to wage war. We have to tell Lord Keveak before it's too late!" "No. You don't have time. Look at the letter. The Lion Knight, Hinckwell, and Brobric Elven leaders will all be at the Hinckwell House in two days. As the representative of your employers, I am ordering you to go to Bric'Lin, find a way into the Hinckwell House, and kill the leader responsible for raiding our caravans. I'm convinced there aren't any other factions involved. If there were, we would have heard of them by now. Look at the parchments. The Lion Knights need weapons. I wasn't going to tell you, but those raided wagons were carrying weapons that we got tricked into purchasing from the Hinckwells. The Hinckwells are allied with the Lion Knights, and it would be just like the Hinckwells to sell something and then take it back. The elves have the skill and the motive to frame the Lion Knights. As soon as you're done looking through these tents, we leave for Bric'Lin."
