Tanma Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) IC: De'kra nods that his theory seems verified, become asking, "But knights not foes, who attack caravans? Maybe elves raid caravan, to promote war between Shadeaux and Lion Knighs? Note say Crownies think Shadeaux more dangerous than elves..." Edit: De'kra waits for the leader to make his decision, since anything he would add might be redundant. Edited November 11, 2011 by Tanma
Tamamono Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "No. You don't have time. Look at the letter. The Lion Knight, Hinckwell, and Brobric Elven leaders will all be at the Hinckwell House in two days. As the representative of your employers, I am ordering you to go to Bric'Lin, find a way into the Hinckwell House, and kill the leader responsible for raiding our caravans. I'm convinced there aren't any other factions involved. If there were, we would have heard of them by now. Look at the parchments. The Lion Knights need weapons. I wasn't going to tell you, but those raided wagons were carrying weapons that we got tricked into purchasing from the Hinckwells. The Hinckwells are allied with the Lion Knights, and it would be just like the Hinckwells to sell something and then take it back. The elves have the skill and the motive to frame the Lion Knights. As soon as you're done looking through these tents, we leave for Bric'Lin." "Oh, that's right. I completely forgot about how long it would take us to get back to Brobric. In that case, we might as well loot the rest of the camp before heading out." "Speaking of which, who wants this comfortable bedroll?"
Tanma Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 IC: De'kra clicked, "Might Lion Knights innocent, heroes and I might not want damage relations more other heroes and I already have. Heroes and I raid knights' things only upset knights."

Tanma Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 IC: De'kra nodded and clicked, "True, but things now exist heroes and I might have chance to heal things. When guards catch up to heroes and I, it look worse might heroes and I loot knights' camp either heroes and I leave now. But in end, it leader's decision."
Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 " I think it would be much better if we were gone before the guards catch up to us. Right now we are one step ahead but if we spend much more time talking then they will be here and we'll have to fight nine armed men. I don't like our chances of taking them all out before they can summon even more, the fight may never end. We can't repair the damage we have done already and we need to continue on our quest."

Still, I don't think those nine guards are going to back off just because we suddenly want to make peace."
swils Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "That's true. Still, I don't think those nine guards are going to back off just because we suddenly want to make peace." Well, let's quit wastin' time then and hustle on out of here!

Flare Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "Lets move double quick, so we don't have to encounter those nine guards..."
Darkdragon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 If they were set down by Tomas, Cinna will grab the various letters that we found, on her way out the tent door. We made have use for them later and for now they will definitely already know we were in here anyway.
Brickdoctor Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 You sneak out of the camp and make your way to Bric'Lin. Two days later, you approach the Hinckwell House. You try the door, but it's locked. De'kra, you automatically try to pick the lock, but you can't open the door.
posades Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Does anyone have any ideas? Should we wait until nightfall and see who approaches the house?
ADHO15 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Does anyone have any ideas? Should we wait until nightfall and see who approaches the house? "I think that is a good idea. Maybe we should search these barrels and crates in the meantime?"
Tamamono Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 "I think that is a good idea. Maybe we should search these barrels and crates in the meantime?" "Yes, let's wait until nightfall. Searching the crates would be a good idea, but we'll have to remember not to vandalize them too much; we don't want the Lion Knights to know someone's been here."
Brickdoctor Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 You wait around and search the crates. Your search yields some rope in the large crate. Two of the barrels are empty and the third is half full of water. As night falls, you see candlelight streaming out of the upper-floor windows of the Hinckwell House. Evidently, someone has been inside the building since before you arrived.

Brickdoctor Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 "Damn it, they were already here! Ad-hoh, Cinna: could either of you force the door open with magic?" You watch Ad-Hoh and Cinna try to force open the door with magic, but the spells are repelled. Ad-Hoh and Cinna, you get the sense that something related to the forest has locked the door. Elven magic. It's clear that the heroes need to think of another way to enter the building.

As learned as I am in forest magic, I do not think my spells will work against these protective enchantments. We could try knocking?"
Brickdoctor Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 We could try knocking?" "You could, but I doubt any of the three parties inside want us inside, too, so doing so would probably only alert them to our presence."
ADHO15 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 "You could, but I doubt any of the three parties inside want us inside, too, so doing so would probably only alert them to our presence." "So the idea is to stealthily infiltrate the building and assassinate the Lion Knight leader during a meeting without alerting them to our presence? That sounds rather difficult."

Tamamono Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 QM Note: Getting warmer. The window is open, by the way. "Oh good. I'd hate to destroy a perfectly nice window!" "Is it possible to tell if the meeting is being held in the room with the window? If it isn't, we can try to climb up the rope into the room without being seen."
