Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 The party seems to have finished at the wreck site, having found naught more than some bits and pieces of the wagons and a piece of a sword. We decide to head for the Mopag Settlement, as it's the quickest way out of this God-forsaken forest. Upon arriving an a good spot to make camp for the Night, we are greeted with a pleasant surprise. Whoever was last here carelessly dropped 2 Gold. The coins sparkle in what little moonlight penetrates the canopy. That's something you don't see every day in the Mopag Forest. We sleep well. Nothing disturbs us. I could get used to it. Party Leader, how will the discovered items be divided? 2 Gold All of you, please state any actions you'd like to perform at this spot.
Darkdragon Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 "Maybe that 2 gold fell out of a bag that is buried nearby. I would like to look around the area for any disturbances in the ground and if I find any to dig there."
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 "Maybe that 2 gold fell out of a bag that is buried nearby. I would like to look around the area for any disturbances in the ground and if I find any to dig there." You see some fading footprints in the dirt, but nothing else.
Darkdragon Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 "Well shucks. I don't see any clues (or gold). I'm ready to head to the town when everyone else is."
Tamamono Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 "Well, that's a pretty unexpected find! I think I'll give the two gold to De'kra. After that, I think we should carry on to the Mopag Settlement."
swils Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Those footprints, are they along the trail, or off into the brush? If they're not leading to anything interesting, I'm all for continuing on into town. There've been whisperings of a nasty new breed of bear being sighted in these parts, so I'm not eager to linger here any longer than necessary!
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra (played by Tanma) Level 4 Rogue Power: 9 Health: 10/10 Gold: 7 Inventory: Shadeaux Dagger (WP: 5), Fang Dagger(WP:4), Bedroll, Potion, Venom Those footprints, are they along the trail, or off into the brush? If they're not leading to anything interesting, I'm all for continuing on into town. The footprints go in circles in the area, and lead back towards the trail. It looks like someone camped here before you and dropped the coins. There've been whisperings of a nasty new breed of bear being sighted in these parts, so I'm not eager to linger here any longer than necessary!
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 The party and I set off once again, and at the end of the day, we are in high spirits, realizing this is the last night we have to spend in the Mopag Forest. It will be good to see the familiar celestial bodies again, instead of trees, bushes, and things that glow. We can tell we're nearing the edge of the forest. The plant life is starting to thing out. You can even make out a few stars shining through the trees if you look carefully. It was a calm, peaceful, serene Nigh- *SNAP!* *CRACKLE!* *POP!* *WHOOM!* "Aaaaah!" Everyone screams as a big, furry, cuddly bear with glowing pink eyes bursts out into the clearing! But it was just looking for a big, furry, cuddly bear hug from its big, furry, cuddly mother. We slept well. We would've regained 2 Health, but we were all in peak condition. All of you, please state any actions you'd like to perform at this spot.
Tamamono Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 "I think I'll dig at this spot and see what I can find. Does anybody else have anything they want to do here before we leave for the Settlement?"
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 "I think I'll dig at this spot and see what I can find. You dig around the campsite, noticing a few tufts of fur from last Night's bear in the bushes, but nothing in the dirt.
TheBoyWonder Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Lets go to the settlement. As a quick note, I will take the sentinal all matches.
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Lets go to the settlement. As a quick note, I will take the sentinal all matches. QM Note:You can't choose when you take the Sentinel position. You have to roll a Shield. (though you seem to do it so often that I named you 'Sir Leo the Sentinel' in the party lineup )
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra dipped his head in thanks to the party leader, and wondered what the settlement would've like. They should reach it now, at least if De'kra had been keeping track of nights correctly. Either that or they had one more night to endure. Still, the heroes were at peak health, they should be fine.
Flare Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Benji starts to cry doesn't do anything, because his pants were still slightly wet from the big, furry, cuddly bear sighting.
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra found the bear interesting, and memories of another similar creature stirred in his mind. The shade wondered what that creature was, it had looked a little like Bugbear from the records of Quest 1.

The shade wondered what that creature was, it had looked a little like Bugbear from the records of Quest 1. "Hmm... maybe there is a connection, my little friend?"
posades Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Xander was eager to leave the mysterious forest, staying near the back of the group of heroes and listening for anything out of the ordinary.
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra leapt back, as he had not voiced those thoughts. The shade eventually relaxed, as the hero was a Ranger. Perhaps he had read De'kra's movements, and figured out his thoughts by gestures.
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Finally, we see the sun again! Any building is a welcome sight after the days spent in the Mopag Forest. The trail widens a bit as it exits the forest. There's no fence on this side, just a sign announcing our location that has seen better days. Evidently, the inhabitants of Mopag are more comfortable with journeying into the forest than those of Bric'Lin. "Mopag's the newest of the major villages and cities of Uland. There aren't very many buildings, and the citizens keep somewhat to themselves, though in the past couple years, a lot have been moving to R'Kilf. They say the people here are a bit strange. "The only building we can visit is the Hapless Hoplite Tavern. The other buildings are private. Mopag receives very few visitors, and doesn't have an inn. We can check out the tavern, or we can continue on the road and head to R'Kilf."

Mopag receives very few visitors, and doesn't have an inn. We can check out the tavern, or we can continue on the road and head to R'Kilf." "We may as well have a little rest and a quick search for information in the tavern before continuing our journey, don't you all agree?"
Brickdoctor Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Since it's the only public building and we're already here, we decide we might as well check out the Hapless Hoplite. The tavern is dimmer and smaller than most others. We notice that all the customers are travelers, just like us. There aren't any citizens of Mopag in the building.
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra nodded and clicked, "Villagers might talk secrets, heroes and I hear secrets, help quest. You think?"
Flare Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Benji mentions to Dek'ra: "Don't you think its sort of strange that there are no citizens of Mopag here? I mean, its the only place to get a decent meal!" He looks around the tavern and wets his pants again when he notices the "bear"

I mean, its the only place to get a decent meal!" "The citizens of Mopag have a meeting house where they can sell items, including food. When I say 'private' I mean that those buildings are only open to Mopag people. The Hapless Hoplite is the only place for travelers to eat, which is the main reason it has survived as long as it has." He looks around the tavern and wets his pants again when he notices the "bear" QM Note:A Wookiee is not the same as an Ewok.
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 De'kra clicks, "Villagers not like outsiders might. You think tavern seller villager? Seller might know raider secrets."
