The event is nearly upon us and i just wondered in regards to hearing if my 'tickets' or confirmation that i have booked to display was successful was in the post?It would be good to know,or do we just turn up on the morning?

Will it mater if i come slightly later on the Saturday hopefully around 11 0'clock?

The organisers will no doubt let you know what's happening and I'm pretty sure they'll want to confirm all displays well before people travel to the show.

More exhibitor info is available here http://www.afolcon.com/afolcon/info . One of the rules states that set-up MUST be ready by 9.30 on the Saturday (their emphasis not mine). I can only assume the organisers wouldn't want people setting up stuff while the paying public are wandering around. Its a bit unfair on the early arrivals.

OK thats fine,it looks like we are going to have to leave another day early.

Another thing with regards to power funtions, are we able to use them as two people on the same setting will get 'interference'.

All the exhibitors will be getting an email from me shortly to confirm their exhibits. It's next on my very very long to-do list! But yes, the displays need to be setup before the public arrives and taken down after they leave. Imagine how you'd feel if you had paid money to come to the show and it wasn't ready!

Regarding PF remotes, that's always a potential problem at every show I've ever been to - but not one that usually causes any real problems. PF remotes aren't that powerful...!

Is anyone driving over to afolcon from the Bury area on Thursday morning with room for a passenger with a 65l burgen full of technic models? I'd be willing to put to petrol money and if you pick me up I'll even sort you out with a lovely mug of fresh coffee..

I can make it over on the bus and metrolink but it'll be fun at rush hour with a massive backpack so I thought i'd throw an appeal out on here!....

Pm me on here if you can hook a brother up!

Missed the deadline for AFOLCON as only just heard about the event (that'll teach me for not reading the events forum!!), but shall be coming along on the Saturday with my partner! Are there any meet ups for fans who are attending the show but aren't part of AFOLCON? I'm very much a lego newbie and want to start building my own models and would love to chat with fellow fans and get some advice! :D

Thanks,

Laura

There is a session in the evening for AFOLs that are not attending AFOLCON. This is on the AFOLCON site for Saturday evening after doors close to the public.

"AFOLCON Special Session (located in The LEGO Show cinema)

Open to all AFOLCON attendees, The LEGO Show exhibitors AND any other AFOL visiting the show, this is the time to get to know other AFOLs. We'll be inviting any AFOLs that we find during the day to hang back and meet us, LEGO and you!

Signe Lonholdt will be giving us the inside information on "ReBrick revealed"

I've no idea how the organisers will spot the AFOLs from members of the public. I'd imagine having a bunch of kids in tow would be a no no.

We shall give people vouchers I think inviting them back after hours. You shall only need to ask.

Thanks! Who should I ask? Just any member of staff?

Not long to wait now, yay!

I had a good time too. Lot's of great displays... my favourite was the big Modulars plus Superheroes... I couldn't see a name on it. Anyone know if they are a Eurobricks poster? Managed to have a few words with Mark Stafford, all his stuff was just amazing. Was really impressed by the Mindstorms stuff. Nothing I've ever paid any attention before, but it was pretty damn cool.

Saw a few Mods I recognised from here. A lot of them look so much more impressive up close.

Great venue, really well organised.... and I will be back tomorrow, but with a 4 year old who is a bit young for most of it and is likely to be overwhelmed by the crowd and not that interested in displays he can't touch and/or take apart (his favourite Lego thing is a brick seperator).

Hah, I got a few pics of that classic space set as well. Almost bought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
