i will add two motors. the stabilizers need powering too. the moving of the arm while the turntable is rotating is probably a problem. i will see how big it is

edit:

I have nearly finished the crane basement. Unfortunately i could not hide all motors inside the Tower.

Do I see 3 motors in the tower? And 4 used all together? I prosume the horizontal motor controls the outriggers? Will this truck be remote controlled with all these motors?

Robert.

yes ,there are three Pf-M in the tower.

one for the mainboom, one for the second boom and one for rotating the crane. The horizontal one is indeed for the outriggers.

The drivemotor (XL), and the steering (M) of the Truck will hopefully fit in the fueltanks. the battery box and the threee receivers will find their place in the stepboards/batteryboxes under the cab.

tower to fat, rear part too short?

Edited by efferman

It seems like the arm is not close enough to the cab and the crane looks a little to big :sceptic:

I think you should have it flat on the chassis and just go though the turntable.:sweet:

could you please describe your idea in detail?

  • Author

thank you.

what dou you think about a Gearbox which allows it to move more than one function and in different directions, without using a electrical powerswitch?

Right, the crane is awesome, and works well with the body of the trucks, but it's too big. If you can make the tower smaller it would work well. If you can't do anything about the crane, it would be a shame to have a decent model and let the crane spoil it. So if the crane is the best you can do, how about making the truck larger. I know this is a lot to ask this late in the process, but it truly would make it perfect. At the moment, everything is out of proportion with each other and it doesn't do your hard work and effort justice. I know you might be annoyed for this, but I just want to give my opinion so you can see the full best out of your time producing the truck.

Thanks for your opinion and iam happy if someone says what he think

the crane is not my best and i have no scruple to build a new one which fits to the truck. there is only the question how it will be powered.

RC, gearbox or Pneumatic

the truck will stay, the crane will change its place with a new one.

I understand. Just been thinking, would it be reasonable to add the Pneumatic suspension so then the logs are loaded it raises to hold more weight? Or is this truck so small to hold it, and will fit in the XL Flatbed. Just a though.

Ok here is the best way: (the gears ready to go though a turntable) however if you need another function you should mount the gearing set up after the turntable and use one of the existing drive shafts for the gear change you should be able to to this with only one function, however this does take up room.:sweet:

i think a pnematic suspension would be to much for this type of truck in this size.

@alasdair

the motors in the chassis and only the driveshaft in the tower?

Now I'm confused? What is this solution solving?
