February 19, 201213 yr Doh, I'm sorry that I can't be more of a help for new ideas. I don't have many parts, so haven't much technical work that I can figure out.
February 19, 201213 yr There are three function's if useing it like below (excluding the gear change),the motors would stay at the bottom in the chassis,or you could remove the upper part and be left with just two functions. Doh, I'm sorry that I can't be more of a help for new ideas. I don't have many parts, so haven't much technical work that I can figure out. That's quite all right. You got to learn from something. @alasdair the motors in the chassis and only the driveshaft in the tower? Yes the drive shaft and the second gear change if you want three functions.
February 19, 201213 yr My view it would be to change the orientation of the 3 crane motors to the horizontal plane this would reduce the hight of the tower and you can hide the motors in the chassis. Edited February 19, 201213 yr by Firky

That would be a good idea. There would be plenty of room under the load bed at the back, so perhaps could fit them in there?
February 19, 201213 yr My mind read so fast, I read '' oration '' as ''orientation ''. Oh well, I didn't realise.

Yes the drive shaft and the second gear change if you want three functions. and where is the usefull difference to 3 single driveshafts for rotate/first boom/second boom and the motors in the chassis?
February 20, 201213 yr Smaller? i dont know. If you keep the slew motor in the chassis you could have another function like teleboom or open close grab, also bare in mind that you will have wires going though the turntable that will twist if you go with motors mounted in the crane. February 20, 201213 yr Author i dont think that it would be smaller, maybe below the turntable, but above the turntable it will be much bigger. And there is no space. if i want more than two remote functions above the turntables, then i will use pneumatics. i think i will try something different. i hope it works edt: something completely different 101_9192 von efferman auf Flickr Edited February 20, 201213 yr by efferman

February 20, 201213 yr Author all four functions at the same time and with change of direction = same playability like RC, with less costs. only one motor needed
February 20, 201213 yr That would make something really good, and an RC with one motor. But I have an issue, obviously, with the goal being to make it RC, this wouldn't make it RC as we'd still have to use our hands to select which way the direction it is turning. That obviously takes it out being RC, so is there need for it to be RC. Unless it's just driving and steering you aim to be RC. Just a thought.
February 20, 201213 yr Oh, that makes it ok then. I reckon that would be very useful. What motor will power it? XL, L or M? I imagine that an XL, as it could come under strain if more than one function is used at once? Any plans to motorise the Claw?

Any plans to motorise the Claw? i think i will use a single piston compressor for the claw and two combined PF-M for powering the compressor and functions. A XL would probably kill the clutch gears.
February 20, 201213 yr Author my U400 has no gearbox for the mechanical and pneumatical PTOs, so it is not possible to copy the gearbox

February 20, 201213 yr What stage are you at with the Truck, it's been all talk recently, and no photos, so I don't know how relevant what I'm talking about would be.
February 20, 201213 yr Author sorry, but there is currently no relevant progress which can be photographed. currently iam searching for a way to squeeze the gearbox in the truck.
February 21, 201213 yr Author i have found a solution 101_9195 von efferman auf Flickr next step is the controlpanel itself
