May 9, 201311 yr Author thanks guys, i have made a ldd file of the outrigger for you http://www.brickshel...l/outrigger.lxf
May 10, 201311 yr The outriggers are nice, but as for the crane boom I'd reccomend using something like this: A 3 section boom, with the outermost section 15 studs wide, the second being 11 studs, and the innermost being 7 studs. This gives you plenty of room for reinforcements, especially if you want to lift 9398.
May 10, 201311 yr Author 15 studs will be big and if i have 15 studs in height...... anyway, for the outriggerdrivetrain i neead more space in the frame so i try somethin which is not originally to the M.A.N independent suspension. i hope it will give me more space in the frame and easier adding more shock absorbers if the final weight is too high for one shock absorber. i hope it will work under high load
May 10, 201311 yr Looking good, efferman! I like how you are using the 20t and 12t bevel gears together for added strength. Clever idea there.

May 11, 201311 yr Author 100 percent correct during the search for a steered independent suspension, i have built a mcpherson version. u8nfortunately i have only 3 old style pneumatic zylinders so i could not build two front axles. but i want to show you one of the suspensions Edited May 11, 201311 yr by efferman
May 11, 201311 yr Author well, because double wishbones are not really solid on steered axles, so it seems i have to copy the tatra front axles
May 12, 201311 yr This is too awesome! 100 percent correct during the search for a steered independent suspension, i have built a mcpherson version. u8nfortunately i have only 3 old style pneumatic zylinders so i could not build two front axles. but i want to show you one of the suspensions Forgive me for asking but I thought pneumatic cylinders haven't changed in like 15 years or so? How do they differ? Thanks.
May 12, 201311 yr Forgive me for asking but I thought pneumatic cylinders haven't changed in like 15 years or so? How do they differ? Thanks. I believe he is referring to the square bottom of the cylinders rather than just a studless mount. The progress looks great effe, I love watching you build. tim
May 12, 201311 yr Author indeed, i need the square bottom for the mcpherson suspension. and for this, purists may excuse me, i have raped a big pump and modified it to a pneumatic cylinder with one inlet. please note that this is only a provisoric mount for testing the steering Edited May 12, 201311 yr by efferman
May 13, 201311 yr I'm kind of wondering why you just dind't just buy another one of off Bricklink . Edited May 14, 201311 yr by Saberwing40k

May 14, 201311 yr Author I'm kind of wondering why you just dind't just buy anothe one of off Bricklink . simple answer: my wallet is currently more than empty
May 14, 201311 yr Oh man, that sucks. By the way, I just noticed some black stuff wrapped around the U-joints in one of the pictures. What is that? I'd kind of like to reinforce my joints the same way.

May 14, 201311 yr Author yes it is thin rope from the lego sets. unfortunately it is neccesary to tighten the knots from time to time. btw, a short test with an "bollerwagen" roundabout 20 till 30 kg weights the flatbed with load Edited May 14, 201311 yr by efferman
May 14, 201311 yr I see that German mate drives VW passat:) Well fancy that...a German man driving a German car....
May 17, 201311 yr Author oh it is not mine, i am driving a lupo btw small car i think the flexibility is enough Edited May 17, 201311 yr by efferman
May 17, 201311 yr Author at the rear axles it will be an damper/pneumatic hybrid. the dampers will hold the m,ost load and the pneumatic cylinders will do the load balancing between the wheels
