Robert M Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Are you using the cab you made earlier? ; Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 yes, only slightly modified for the working steering wheel and hand of god. but first i have to find a invisible place for the HoG Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 This truck is looking really, really great! Fantastic project you have here. I really like the headache rack and the self-centering lever system you have on the gearbox. Quote
dfs473 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 really good job so far Do you plan to build a trailer for example this? Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Thanks guys yes it will have a trailer, but one like this a little look on the working steering wheel Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 The more I see the more I want to do another... but what kind of truck... this is the question . Good work and I still thinking those mudguards no... maybe anothers, forgive me if I take the opposite . Quote
efferman Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 The more I see the more I want to do another... but what kind of truck... this is the question why not a suction excavator? very unique and many moving functions. my logging truck has needed some changes in detail. the first one was removing some holes to avoid hooking the gearshifters the next problem was a too hard working steering mechanism. so i have changed the front axle from 14 to 15 studs, that i can use the 13 long steering rack. now it works much softer when the ackerman geometry should go back to the center. efferman Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Thanks next update: the drivemotors are implemented Quote
timslegos Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 great progress. I can see why you used m motors instead of xl's. they really fit in snugly. tim Quote
martinmalmo Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 This might be a stupid question but pls remember I just got back into Lego. About the gearbox in post 276, how do you make the motor turn so slow? Is it the "differént" batterybox? Cause I dont see enough gears to slow down so much. thanks in advance. Quote

Crtlego Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 How does the ackerman steering affect the black bevel gear's ability to move the steering rack? It was always my impression that the steering would be stiff and limited since the rack tend to line up with the gear but I guess I need to try this out myself. Quote
efferman Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 at the end it works a little bit harder than normal, and with a seven long gear rack it works not so good. But with the 13 long it works good enough for me. by the way 101_9225 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Looking good! I like how you built the sun visor. This moc is going to be fantastic once completed. Quote
efferman Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 thanks, but i think when i made the vid of the logging truck some guys will ask me why it is not RC Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 thanks, but i think when i made the vid of the logging truck some guys will ask me why it is not RC Maybe, but not all mocs need to be RC. Some of my favorite Technic mocs are not RC (Marius's Twin Otter, Paul's Vampire GT, Akiyuky's GBC Ball Factory, and a few others). My current moc I'm building is not RC either. People may question why there isn't any RC on your moc, but not many can build something as complicated as what your are building. Quote
timslegos Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Progress looks good. how on earth did you attach the sun visor? tim Quote
timslegos Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Oh that is surprisingly simple! thanks. tim Quote

Sam42 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 It's a shame you haven't got the flex axles for the front wheel arches in black rather than red, other than that, very nice.. Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Wow, looks like this is gonna be one awesome model, great work so far. Quote
efferman Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 It's a shame you haven't got the flex axles for the front wheel arches in black rather than red, other than that, very nice.. yes unfortunately i have only red ones in this length. to minimize this problem and to get smaller gaps between the liftarms i have put an additional 5x1/2 liftarm on one mudguard. Is it only me or look it more round than the other? vergleich von efferman auf Flickr Quote
