DLuders Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Your Mercedes-Benz Geolander (G-Class) Light Armored Patrol Vehicle (LAPV) looks good in orange! Quote
efferman Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) yes, orange looks good, but to find the right part in orange is not easy btw picture source edit: 100_9525 von efferman auf Flickr Edited July 28, 2012 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) Thanks, for testing the look i have mounted the flatbed on the back of the G looks good but the tire hits the flatbed looks bad but the tire spins free with maximum angled axles 100_9527 von efferman auf Flickr Edited July 28, 2012 by efferman Quote
vmln8r Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Excellent. I think a black grille would look better, however. Quote
TimH Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Nice work so far, looking forward to seeing the finished truck. Quote
Phoxtane Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 looks good but the tire hits the flatbed -snip- looks bad but the tire spins free with maximum angled axles -snip- I like the first; it looks more true to the subject vehicle. Also, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like it doesn't have individual suspension for the back tires. Maybe you could try building "lumps" into the bed to allow the tires room to travel? Excellent. I think a black grille would look better, however. I agree Quote
efferman Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 thanks guys Excellent. I think a black grille would look better, however. i will make a try Quote
vwpint Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Some inspiration :D http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg11/scaled.php?server=11&filename=d3s4257.jpg&res=landing Quote
Tamas Juhasz Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Really good, I like the trial/heavy off road versions of the G. It would be interesting also a mud trial video with the finished model. Quote
Sam42 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) Nice progress, gotta say I'm not fully convinced on the bonnet though, the orange panels don't really tie in with the shape of the g-wagen's bonnet in real life, perhaps a blend of plates, studless beams and cheese wedges might provide a solution? I understand the limited pallette of bricks available in orange makes things difficult, could you justify bonnet maybe? Incidentally I've got something from the Mercedes off-road stable on my workbench at the moment, I'll post it up soon! Edited July 29, 2012 by Sam42 Quote
efferman Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 i had made an other version of the bonnet but it doesnt had satisfied me, and i dot own the right parts to made it better, so i have made the decission to make a more technic bonnet 100_9524 von efferman auf Flickr i think i can made a realistic bonnet with lego parts, but iam dont want order parts for a model which will disassembled soon after finishing. this is not my U400 which is still existing yet 100_8786 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 What about using two flat orange planel's instead of the 7/8 curved panels? Quote
Sam42 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Alasdair may have something there... for me the curved panels just don't tie in with the square lines of the real life g-wagen. But this is only personal opinion... I saw the mk1 bonnet on Flickr and slightly prefer it but its still somewhat wide of the mark.. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Ah what about these then: Ps sam-the man-with -the ice-cream-van when are you going to upload those pic's from Manchester? Quote
efferman Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 (edited) i dont think that these parts would fit on the bonnet. but i have used some of them on the back of the G. please tell me what you are thinking about this 100_9532 von efferman auf Flickr Edited August 4, 2012 by efferman Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I hate the back there is no way it bends down like that in real life. Quote
