Alasdair Ryan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 It will not return to center,i don't think it is the size of band that is the problem. Quote
efferman Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 in my moc iam using two of the blue rubberbands and if there are much friction in the steering mechanism, it will not go back to the center Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I tried different sizes of bands but the resistance was not strong enough to return to the center. Quote
efferman Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 then i have no idea why it not works Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Ah ok,back to the drawing board. Quote

trekman Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Absolutely cool. I love the rear fenders. Is this not what the Lego model should have been? Happy New Year Quote
DLuders Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Nice mod! I like how you did the rear fenders -- it makes the truck look real classy. "Mater" is jealous! Quote
efferman Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 thanks guys. i had thought that the Rear end ( behind the tires) should be so short as possible, and round fenders are in my eyes a good solution for that. tomorrow/ today/sunday the first i will make a vid to show you all functions in detail. good night Quote
Kronos Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 efferman, that truck is amazing. When I first say this model, that is what I thought it should look like. Awesome job, as usual. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 As soon as I get my website straightened out and figure out how to use this dreamweaver HTML madness, I want to get a link added for your impressive work... Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) That looks really good. Great job on the rear, and nice use of the new turn table. Edited January 1, 2012 by dhc6twinotter Quote

olaf9198 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 looks a nice vid (is that your mod 8081) Quote
olaf9198 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 yes , only with a new rear axle thank you for your fast reply Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 What about copying the 8109 tail lift mechanism for 'under-car-lift' part?, i do not have the set yet so i can't say if you could fit it in,but its a thought. Quote
efferman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 to fold the fork automatically? All of the real tow trucks which i had in my fingers, even the big ones, had folded it manually. So it is not neccessary for me. maybe in the big 8109 (8110 tires) which is sometimes buzzing in my head. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Ah ok,yes i was meaning to fold/unfold automatically. Quote
Shasat Spacerider Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Sir Effe, you have officially become my favorite MOCer. This new tow truck is amazing. I thought you were only going to motorize it, but no, you revamped the whole thing! The only thing that bothers me is the location of the IR receiver, but I guess you couldn't fit that anywhere else. Clever use of the new mini turntable. And about the large scale 8109, do it, do it! Are you going to do 8110 scale or 8258 scale? Because I think that the 8110 scale would be a bit too big, but I guess it wouldn't hurt. Plus, wouldn't it be on a similar scale as this gorgeous Pick-up Truck of yours? Build on, Effe, my idol! Quote
grohl Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Love the rear and the improved functionality of the model. Quote
efferman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 The only thing that bothers me is the location of the IR receiver, but I guess you couldn't fit that anywhere else. sometimes i wish the IR sensors would be, like the LED lights, at the end of a Cable. in my opinion this would make the IR system much more flexible and would not need so ugly solutions. The big 8109 would be in 1:10 also in a bigger scale than 8110. please nail me not at the wall with the big 8109. alone the flatbed would need ca. 40 5x11 rectangular panels. in the same scale like 9395? let me calculate, 1:15 21 studs wide, this should be possible. hm nice idea, a fleet of tow trucks.
