z3_2drive Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Wow thats even closer to rc standards considering the power and speed Quote
bb15080 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Effe it looks good like the looks of it looks strong Quote
Crtlego Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 This truck looks absolutely amazing!! Beautiful detailing! And it does indeed seem very strong! Can't wait for the video. Quote
efferman Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 thank you very much i have made a little size comparisation 100_9545 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Wow, its souch a beauty, yet brutally strong! Will you move recievers, so they are less obvious? Quote
Sam42 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Brilliant model effe! Great to see it finished.. I even think that bonnet with the curved panels is growing on me! Now quit playing around dragging the unimog about and get us some footage of it crawling! Quote
efferman Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) unfortunately i need a good line of sight to the recievers. unwanted skid steering is not funny with the high grip of the tires. so i cant move it to hide them sam, first i must search a new crawling track. mxy other one is blocked by some firewood Edited August 6, 2012 by efferman Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Come to Scotland to do some crawling. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 What pieces you used on front lights? Trans-Clear Dish 2 x 2 Inverted (Radar) Quote
rm8 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Trans-Clear Dish 2 x 2 Inverted (Radar) I think its larger than 2x2. May be 2x2 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2654&viewType=s will be better? Huge truck, looks like heavy truck in the background of Unimog...authentic model with detailed body and RC off road abilities - you joined them at one model. When I hold such big and heavy Lego model ( my toyota's weight about 2,5 kg and its length about 70 studs) in my hands, I feel something that I cant explain:) I like that feeling:) Efferman, dont you feel the same?!:) Edited August 7, 2012 by rm8 Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Ah sorry it will be the 4x4 one. Dish 4 x 4 Inverted (Radar) Quote
efferman Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 rm8, yes i feel something like tim taylor when he gets a excavator to play yes it is a 4x4 dish Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 What pieces you used on front lights? What about these? Quote
efferman Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 a little teaser for the upcoming vid Quote
efferman Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 i hope the time of waiting was not to long but i think it was worth Quote
DLuders Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) @ efferman: Your Technic G MOC is excellent , especially with those Ansmann 211000224 tires! The German forest (where you made your video) seems unusually dry and crispy.... I'm looking at the 38 photos in your Flickr photoset of your Lego Mercedes G, and see that the four new Lego Power Functions L-motors provide great power to your drivetrain. When the gears were slipping/grinding in your video "Outtakes", which gear assembly do you think was being over-torqued? Edited August 12, 2012 by DLuders Quote
efferman Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) thanks, we had not much rain in the last time. i think that the thin 20 tooth bevel gear was slipping which is mounted deep in the axle and not easy to photograph. currently iam making a bunch of new pics and i try to get a good view of it Edited August 12, 2012 by efferman Quote
timslegos Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Fantastic driving capabilities effe. The truck looks beautiful and can drive great as well, something that is extremely hard to accomplish. tim Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Really great engineering right there. About skipping gears, even in the new brackest the 20 tooth bewel gear can slip if there is too much torque. Thats why i usually use the fatter 20 tooth ones, as they have nowhere to slip. Quote
DLuders Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) So, one should use the newer, "fatter" 87407 "Technic, Gear 20 Tooth Bevel with Pin Hole" (first picture below) instead of the older, thinner 32198 "Technic, Gear 20 Tooth Bevel" (side-view picture below)? Edited August 12, 2012 by DLuders Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I mean the full stud wide 20 tooth double bewel gear Quote
efferman Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 to use a free run bevel gear is not an vise idea if you want transmitt torque around a corner. zblj, i have no space for a double bevel gear Quote
