Shasat Spacerider Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 sometimes i wish the IR sensors would be, like the LED lights, at the end of a Cable. in my opinion this would make the IR system much more flexible and would not need so ugly solutions. Oh Well, nothing is perfect. Although you bring "flawed" sets to perfection, this one seems limited since 9395 is sooo packed. I would like to see the insides of this beast to understand what you did. The big 8109 would be in 1:10 also in a bigger scale than 8110. please nail me not at the wall with the big 8109. alone the flatbed would need ca. 40 5x11 rectangular panels. in the same scale like 9395? let me calculate, 1:15 21 studs wide, this should be possible. hm nice idea, a fleet of tow trucks. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "please nail me not at the wall with the big 8109". Are you saying that you dread making the big 8109? It was your idea! Quote
timslegos Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Nice vid Effe! I love the winch mechanism. tim Quote

Efferman sadly left the 'do not' out of his reply. This bigger 8109 would be interesting as you could also make a small crane for it. Edited January 1, 2012 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
efferman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 "please nail me not at the wall with the big 8109". its hard to translate a german saying/adage/byword to english. i hope it means: dont to be insistent that i make the big 8109 real.i want build the big 8109, but i can not guarantee that i am realize it. I would like to see the insides of this beast to understand what you did. when i made my instruction you will see, that there is nothing special in it. This bigger 8109 would be interesting as you could also make a small crane for it small? this flatbed truck would be 32 studs wide. Quote

Alright, I won't bother you about the Flatbed Truck... Although I was thinking of bothering you about your wonderful 8110 mod . Will you also make instructions for it? I am really curious about what you did in there. Also, your idea for a big scale 8109 got me wondering about a 8285, 8258, 8052, and 8071 on Unimog scale. I would go for it, but my collection is tiny. LDD, anyone? Back on topic, I eagerly await your instructions, Effe. Quote
efferman Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 the instruction for my 9395 will come, but let me a few days before i dismantle it to make the instruction. LDD is a fight for me, so this is not an option. and then want some people for my 8109 RC mod a pictured partslist in german with the parts which not contained in 8109. 8285, 8258, 8052 on Unimog scale. this would be nearly impossible, because there are not the correct tire sizes available. Big Scale absolutely yes, but not in 8110 Scale by the way, is in the web a partlist available with all Lego Parts? including Bricklink and TLG part number? Quote

Shasat Spacerider Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 i want make my own stickers. whats your opinion about this logo? effes towfleet von efferman auf Flickr I think it's brilliant! It's simple and to the point, but a graphic somewhere would liven it up better. (i.e. a hook or something) Keep on being awesome, Effeh! Quote
Smrgol Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I like that, maybe a small image of one of your MOCs in the middle? Quote
timslegos Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Something like a hook or maybe a black and white cartoonized simple photo of your moded tow truck? tim Quote
efferman Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 i dont want make the sticker to complex, because it should fit on a #17 panel. And i want to put it on all my tow trucks. Quote
chorlton Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 i want make my own stickers. whats your opinion about this logo? effes towfleet von efferman auf Flickr Nice. One thought is that "nothing is too small to tow" while being perfectly good english, isn't how a slogan usually appears on trucks. It's usually shortened to "No job too small" to be "catchy". I'm not sure if "No Tow Too Small" works though? Quote

I'm not sure if "No Tow Too Small" works though? Thanks for your thoughts. I was not sure if my english was correct. The thought behind my slogan is "No Vehicle is too small to tow an other vehicle" and not " No Vehicle is too small to be towed" "nothing is too small to tow" was thought as a joke. edit: hm so side by side with 9395 looks the 8109 really small. i think it is really time for a bigger flatbed truck. 100_9047 von efferman auf Flickr Edited January 15, 2012 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) guess what hopefully is coming and hopefully the crossaxles can handle the weight. i want maximum offset rims like trucks should have it. Edited January 17, 2012 by efferman Quote
sama Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Your modified tow truck is just beautiful. You see that Lego, that's how you should make a tow truck! Quote
efferman Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 thanks, but like every fully RC 100€ only for electric parts Quote
timslegos Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wow thats...ummm...HUGE. I cant wait to see more progress. tim Quote
Saberwing40k Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 okay, this sounds like a silly question, but are you ever going to update your brickshelf account? also, i'd like instructions for the modified 9395, and the unimog g, when you finish. that would be very helpful, as i need all the inspiration i can get. thanks. efferman Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) my brickshelf folder is uptodate, i have only many unfinished projects, but the instructions for 9395 will come edit: Edited January 18, 2012 by efferman Quote
Smrgol Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Ok Efferman: 1) HOLY MOTHER!!!! That is gonna be massive and I can't wait to see more and 2) I like the stickers, they are really nice. Quote
efferman Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) HOLY MOTHER!!!! That is gonna be massive and I can't wait to see more i hope it will be not to big. The scale is 1/10 so it should fit to some of the supercars. The width is 255mm (32 studs), regulated by the cab which i choose, it will be 320-380mm high. The length will be between 800 and 1200mm if i make a big 8109. iam be exitedly if it is possible to make it full rc with all the things which i want do. Edited January 19, 2012 by efferman Quote
