efferman Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 the actual weight is 5,5kg how it is shown on this picture Quote
timslegos Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 That truck looks super heavy duty, it should be a lot of fun to drive!! tim Quote
efferman Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 i hope it will be not to heavy, but lifting capacity is existing enough Quote
Mikuri Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Poor 12t bevel gear D:! But this lifting capacity is pretty nice :P! Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 That turntable is also mighty strong! No problems with the actuator gearing? Quote
efferman Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 No, the internal planet gear works still fine. Only the 12 tooth bevel gear between the xl and the 20 tooth freewheel is converted into two pieces. Quote
efferman Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 a small question, how do you like the the line of fenders? Quote
PhyBuilder Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 The rear fenders look better. But: because this type of vehicle is blocky and straight by itself (which partly makes out the sturdy, robust look), the front ones are ok too. I would definately make them similar though, regardless which type you choose. Quote
efferman Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 the fenders on the first axle are original, so this one is not available for discussion. On the second axle i can do something like on the last axles. Quote
PhyBuilder Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 It all depends on your interpretation: to mimic an existing model 1:1 is something different as your own creation. But in the end, I think it's okay the way it is right now, because of the diversity a MAN 8X8 Crane comes in. Google Images also displays straight fenders on the front and curved on the back, like the military truck posted by yourself. Quote
efferman Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 the outriggers are now working motorized Quote
efferman Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 It seems the frame and the outriggerbox need some tuning. it is twisting to much. Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 You are going behind the limits - ad that's good. I am looking forward to see this one finished ;) Quote
weavil Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 That is looking great so far! But that is HUGE! Like pull a muscle lifting ITHUGE! Still keep up the hard work. Quote
Balrog Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 That's sick. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to build outriggers to somehow operate from the upper structure instead. Quote
efferman Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 outriggers mounted on the uppercarriage or controled by the uppercarriage? Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Maybe try some studded support - its more rigid. Quote
Balrog Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 outriggers mounted on the uppercarriage or controled by the uppercarriage? Mounted on the uppercarriage. So the support they give goes directly to where it is needed. Quote
efferman Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 outriggers which rotating with the uppercarriage. interesting concept. or do i understand something wrong? Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) outriggers which rotating with the uppercarriage. interesting concept. or do i understand something wrong? Maybe he meant outriggers attached just under the turntable, so you dont have the transmit the force through the chassis? Like X configuration 8053 had? Edited October 19, 2014 by Zblj Quote
