efferman Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 hm, many strange angles. I will take a view on it btw, the fifth wheel is on Quote
mocbuild101 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 What program are you using? - the parts look very shiny! Quote
brickless_kiwi Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 could you do a rendering minus the wheels doesn't look like you have any suspension movement? Quote
efferman Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 There is a half stud suspension travel. That is enough for a onroad Truck Quote
Beck Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) The fifth wheel looks a bit oversized for the wheel diameter, but I could be wrong. Here are some of my favorite tractor units: Arocs 3363 6x4, DAF XF 510, Volvo FH 16, and any Scania S series. You could try something like this: Edited June 23, 2017 by Beck Quote
efferman Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) No crane on this truck. I have found a good piece for a kingpin edit: a first sketch of mudguards edit² probably the Back end Edited June 23, 2017 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) Whats with my FM-X Cab? or maybe my old Topline? Edited June 24, 2017 by efferman Quote
1gor Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 FM-X Cab is better in LEGO (IMHO), nice found for kingpin Quote
efferman Posted July 2, 2017 Author Posted July 2, 2017 A small question: Wich Gear ratio you would recommend for a semi tractor unit? In this moment there is a 4,2:1 reduction which would give the M.A.N TGS a good speed without trailer. But with a trailer the pullng power will be probably insufficient, so i think about a switching gearbox The Gearbox on the picture -excluding the 8/24 combination- has in the slow gear a reduction of 14:1 and in the fast gear 4,2:1 Do you think the slow gear is to slow? Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 fmx for sure. The topline seems a bit to tall for this. Quote
brickless_kiwi Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 A 8:1 would be a good lower gear most models seem to be 4:1 Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 A first sketch on the mudguard of the cab Quote

1gor Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) It looks very smooth . One thing that is usually happened - when you want things to look and feel simple you need to work very hard and take care of lot of details, and things that look complicated are actually non-finished sloppy things Edited July 10, 2017 by I_Igor Quote
