efferman Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 Small Update A new Front Axle. The last one was wayto fat Rear Axles with Trailer couplings Roundabout the wheelbase Quote
Ivan_M Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Are those Thicon tires? They look cool, what is the size? Quote
efferman Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 The Diameter is 85mm and the threadpattern is 25mm. The total width is 31mm. Unfortunately they dont fit on lego rims. Quote
offroadcreations Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 That is going to be awesome! It's amazing how you build so fast. Quote
efferman Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) not so fast as it drives. Edited October 30, 2017 by efferman Quote
1gor Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Interesting project Michael. It looks like you like military trucks (especially M.A.N.). Pitty that LEGO does not produce such tires Quote
JonathanM Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Love the use of the linear actuator base in the front axle. Great part usage! Quote
efferman Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 Igor, i simply like the shape of the modular Cab. Maybe the cab will later placed a stud higher Quote
1gor Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Michael, you're not the only one who likes modular things. My problem is that I'm to much purist, and third party parts are to expensive for me, so one things are my desires, and another is what is possible complete with LEGO parts. It looks nice. Perhaps I have miss-red previous posts, but can you tell me which is the M.A.N. scale ? Quote
efferman Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 It is the typical 19 wide scale, aproximate 1:16,7 Quote
1gor Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 34 minutes ago, efferman said: It is the typical 19 wide scale, aproximate 1:16,7 So tires on real machine are Michelin 24R21 (typical industry and military tires with some 1420mm overall diameter) and chassis should be as you said 19 studs wide Quote
efferman Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 The chassis is overal 22 wide because the real thing is wider than standard and your tire diameter should fit Quote
efferman Posted November 1, 2017 Author Posted November 1, 2017 The X73/HX80 has 2 winches which have separate controlls. Would you remote two winches and left the fifth wheel manually, or would you build one winch and remote the fifth wheel? What do you think? Quote
1gor Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 I would use remotelly control in both winches and left fifth wheel manually Quote
efferman Posted November 1, 2017 Author Posted November 1, 2017 We have the same opinion so i have made a dual winch with mechanical free run for pulling out the rope Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 very nice build and it looks tough...I like that!! Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Effe the truck looks great but I think the windows are either to big or the roof to high Quote
efferman Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 I know, the side windows are a half liftarm to tall btw, it drives, pulls and shakes the cam Quote
