Solscud007 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 So I was looking for some toys at Walmart and found this for sale. $14.97 USD. It is smaller than the Visual Dictionary but thicker. I just noticed that the MSRP is $18.99. Hooray for Walmart!!! And of course, everyone probably wants to see Han with his friends at the celebration. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Looks nice indeed. Nice custom R2, by the way. That's the way the droid should be. I love these minifigures, but I just can't buy them all! At least these pictures help me drool over this book and the minifigures that I'll never have. Thanks for sharing the pics! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks for these pics, Solscud. Celebration Han looks good with the other heroes. Quote
Solscud007 Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 I havent read it thru, But there is some interesting stuff like the Bronze Boba Fett. They try to acknowledge the variants but they sort of gloss over R2D2. The variations of the body are pretty significant as well as the head printing. Quote
wokajablocka Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Thats a good price, the best I have forund is around $21 from the uk shiped free to Australia. Im going to get this book but like the last one I think it will have a few gaps in the information but us Lwgo SW fans can easily fill in them in like the R2 fig. It also interesting that it is smaller than the first DK release. I wonder if they will all be small like that? Quote
Kaitan Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 It also interesting that it is smaller than the first DK release. I wonder if they will all be small like that? It's the same size as all the other DK Star Wars Character Guides, so it's probably to match with them, same as the Visual Dictionary matches all the other DK Visual Dictionaries. It's not unusual for a book to be released early, but DK are normally a bit closer to their predicted publication dates... still , nice to see it out I look forward to getting my delivery at work! legovermymistress Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I tried getting this book the other day but sadly out of stock so I went for the visual dictionary for the time being. Great pics but any chance of a couple of inner page shots? Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks 'Solscud007' for sharing your latest read with us, actually that Han figure is well presented....you gotta feel sorry for Chewie though ! I have to buy two when it becomes available - one for me and the other for my son ! Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Good look at the Celebration Han... Hard not to go for this one after picking up the Luke. Thanks for the pic! Quote
sharky Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) I wish Walmart wouldn't put the price sticker on the front like that. I hope it comes off clean for you. I like that you are still able to get the Visual Dictionary and the Character Encyclopedia at the same time. It makes for an even nicer gift to get both Yavin Ceremony Luke and Han. Solscud007 Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks 'Solscud007' for sharing your latest read with us, actually that Han figure is well presented....you gotta feel sorry for Chewie though ! I have to buy two when it becomes available - one for me and the other for my son ! I thought so too, but I checked my Blu Ray copy of ANH and Chewie never got a medal. Only Luke and Han did. I wish Walmart wouldn't put the price sticker on the front like that. I hope it comes off clean for you. I like that you are still able to get the Visual Dictionary and the Character Encyclopedia at the same time. It makes for an even nicer gift to get both Yavin Ceremony Luke and Han. I already had the Visiual Dictionary. If you look at my pictures of the book, I already removed the sticker. It was very easy to remove. I shot the picture of the two books together inside Walmart before I bought the Encyclopedia. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I've seen this numerous times, but haven't picked it up due to the Han figures I've seen. They all look very rubbery to me. I'm waiting to see one with a good figure in it. Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I never did get the visual dictionary but I like the sound of this book better. And that Han figure looks great! Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Are these figures made of the normal Lego plastic, or the plastic we usually see in CMFs and magnet sets? Quote
K-Nut Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Are these figures made of the normal Lego plastic, or the plastic we usually see in CMFs and magnet sets? Unlike Luke, I think it's CMF plastic. Quote
KimT Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Unlike Luke, I think it's CMF plastic. It does say parts made in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico and the Czech Republic. So no it wouldn't be Chinese. I've got a copy in my hands right now and it looks ok to me. Quote
