Bob Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 CHAPTER THREE - OUCH! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's late at night in Lexington; Marcus Baker is out with his toy phaser dressed in his Starfleet Uniform. "Whee!" says Marcus. "I'm having so much fun out late at night when I should be sleeping!" A loud crack is heard as a baseball bat impacts with Marcus' head, causing him to drop his toy and fall to the ground. Elsewhere, another figure is throwing away items, oblivious to the figure watching in the bushes. "Hey!" the figure in the bushes yells. The figure throwing items away gasps, and runs off. "Hm. I suppose that I should wait until tomorrow to tell everyone about this." the figure says, as it walks off. Outside the police station, a figure approaches with a knife. "Hehehe, I'm so sneaky coming here at night." the figure says. It slashes Officer Hutch's motorcycle tires, then dashes off into the inky darkness. The sun soon rises over the town. The first of the amateur investigators to arrive is Winston. He checked his watch, waiting for the others to arrive. "Winston!" a distraught Officer Hutch says. "Look what some hooligan did to my bike!" "How dreadful!" Winston remarks. "This is my most prized possession ever!" Hutch's bike falls with a large thud when Officer Jackson, Ashley, and Deputy Scott arrive. "I'll get a mechanic to fix it for you, Ryan." Deputy Scott says. Soon, all but one of the novice detectives show up. "Where's Marcus?" Ashley asks. "I'm here..." Marcus says. Ashley rushes to help her brother. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Players (14) Mr. Jack Montgomery --- Mrlegoninja Mrs. Julia Montgomery --- Dannylonglegs Jeremy Montgomery --- ADHO15 Mr. Alex Jordan --- Cralegoboy Mrs. Sarah Jordan --- Brickdoctor Mr. Winston Robertson --- Rumble Strike Amber Robertson --- Peanuts Officer Steven Jackson --- Professor Flitwick Ashley Baker --- K-nut Marcus Baker --- CallMePieOrDie Officer Ryan Hutch --- badboytje88 Mr. James Swanson --- CorneliusMurdock Robbie Swanson --- Jedi master Brick Deputy Chief Jackie Scott --- Fugazi Deceased: Police Chief Arnold McGovern --- def Rules: (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor and Red Scare Mystery) 1. There are 16 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. I will always give a detailed explanation of a room, however, feel free to ask for clarification. 3. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 4. Please try to avoid editing your posts. If you made a spelling error, simply post immediately after correcting your spelling error. If you wish to add more, a double post can be made, however use this rule wisely. Obviously, you may not make a quadruple post. Please wait for someone else to post before you post something else, unless absolutely necessary. 5. You can reference anything in pop culture, as this is being played real time. You can mention current events if you want to. You can use any electronic device that you wish to use, with exception. For example, you can’t take out your time machine to determine who the killers are. 6. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. However, you may not return to a room that you were already in, so ensure that you have searched every part of the room before leaving. 7. There are a few NPC’s in certain areas of the town. These NPC’s might have evidence, however they might not. Also, the evidence given by them might be false information. You cannot do anything other than talk to these NPC’s. You can only go and speak to them when you arrive in their area. For example, each NPC is in a certain part of the town. If you’re at point A, you cannot go and speak to an NPC at point B. 8. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. 10. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. 11. There will be a life-point system. Every player starts out with ten life-points, and regenerates one life point at the end of a chapter. For example, if you fall and twist your ankle, you’d likely lose one life point. If you fall off a boat into an engine prop, you’re likely to lose most if not all of your life points. Think logically. Perhaps walking along the rickety boards in the construction zone is not a good idea. 12. The host is usually always right. If you think he’s wrong, feel free to send me a message about it. 13. Most of all have fun. This game is meant to be enjoyable despite the "questionable" things occurring. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play.
Professor Flitwick Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 "Where's Marcus?" Ashley asks. "I'm here..." Marcus says. "Sorry Marcus, are you in much pain?" "Right, now while we wait, why not discuss where to go search today. We can either start from the top of the list, and go to the Town Hall, or we can go to Marcus' house, and see why someone punched him. Maybe someone prefers Pickard!"
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I think finishing up at the police station would be the best idea. Shouldn't take too long and then we can decide where to go from there depending on what we find out.
badboytje88 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I'd like to go search for the trashcan and look at the stuff which was thrown away. After that we can go to the police station.
K-Nut Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Oh Marcus! What happened? Did the killers do this to you? Do you need help? I'd like to investigate Officer Hutch's motorcycle, and call Marcus a doctor just in case.
badboytje88 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Maybe we should dust the bike for prints and run them through our system to see if we have a match with someone who has committed a felony before.
Rumble Strike Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 "Glad you could all turn up. I've been waiting ages!" Winston said. "I agree that going to the Police Staion to finish off our investigation would be the best thing. And perhaps we can find out more about the vandalism of Officer Hutch's bike and Marcus' assault. It's interesting that a Police Chief has been murdered and then an Officer's motorcycle is vandalised. Does the killer have a beef with the Police?
K-Nut Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Mr. Robertson, may I be so bold to ask why you were up so early this morning?
Rumble Strike Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 "I was so excited when I received my latest artifact yesterday evening that I barely got a wink of sleep. But I hope you aren't insinuating I had anything to do with this awful incident?"
K-Nut Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 "I was so excited when I received my latest artifact yesterday evening that I barely got a wink of sleep. But I hope you aren't insinuating I had anything to do with this awful incident?" Oh no! I'm just making sure. My brother was attacked last night, if you hadn't noticed, so I'm just searching for clues to find the attacker. Nothing against you personally Mr. Robertson.
Rumble Strike Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Winston nods sympathetically. "I understand how awful this is for you, however I am just a concerned citizen. I don't know what I'd do if Amber got hurt like that."
CMP Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Ow. Whoever that bitch was broke my phaser. If you all must know, I was following somebody last night, the only person I found relatively suspicious. I'm now even more suspicious of this person, but won't reveal it. It could've (though it's unlikely) it could've just been a random choice to choose me to knock out. That, or the person has a defensive mechanism. I'd like to know if I'm gonna be okay. That hurt...
Bob Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 I'd like to go search for the trashcan and look at the stuff which was thrown away. After that we can go to the police station. You don't know where the trashcan is. Oh Marcus! What happened? Did the killers do this to you? Do you need help? I'd like to investigate Officer Hutch's motorcycle, and call Marcus a doctor just in case. Please be more specific about what you'd like to investigate. I'd like to know if I'm gonna be okay. That hurt... Marcus has lost four life points, bringing him down to 6/10 life points. These regenerate at night, so if he doesn't get hurt any further today, he'll be at 7/10 tomorrow, and so on.
ADHO15 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 You don't know where the trashcan is. "Would the investigator who watched that mystery figure throw stuff in the trashcan like to say who it was and where the trashcan was?"
Mrlegoninja Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Are there any bolts that are loose on the motorcycle. If there are, I'd like to collect them, and later see if they have any fingerprints on them.
K-Nut Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Sorry God. I'd like to see how deep that cuts in the tires are, to see how fast the air could have left the tires.
Bob Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Are there any bolts that are loose on the motorcycle. If there are, I'd like to collect them, and later see if they have any fingerprints on them. Nothing is loose on the motorcycle, only the tires are slashed. Sorry God. I'd like to see how deep that cuts in the tires are, to see how fast the air could have left the tires. Rather deep, however it took time for all the air to leave the tire.
Sisco Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I'd like to look for anything the tire-slasher may have dropped.
Brickdoctor Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Since god seems to have missed other's similar actions, I'll check for fingerprints. Wearing a Hazmat suit, of course. Just in case the bike is rigged to explode, or something.
Sisco Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Wearing a Hazmat suit, of course. Just in case the bike is rigged to explode, or something. "Honey, don't you think you're being a little ridiculous?"
Brickdoctor Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 "Honey, don't you think you're being a little ridiculous?" Yup. god even said I was dressed like a MegaBluck. Aren't you concerned for my health?
Sisco Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Aren't you concerned for my health? "Of course, baby! I don't want anything to happen to you. I just don't think that a Hazmat suit is going to do much against an explosion."
Brickdoctor Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 "Of course, baby! I don't want anything to happen to you. I just don't think that a Hazmat suit is going to do much against an explosion." I love how you are so logical and so concerned! I put on my bomb suit over my Hazmat suit.
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Maybe you guys are lookin' at this from the wrong angle. Officer Hutch, do you know of anyone that may have a grudge against you? Or maybe is there someone who might benefit from your bike not being in commission?
