And the New Recruits are...

The Shipyard Crew has come to a decision on who the two newest Classic-Pirates.com bloggers will be.

They are:

ZCerberus and TalonCard

Why Did We Choose Them?

Both have been regular forum contributors for years now, so we're familiar with their personality and already like their work. Quite impressed in fact.

ZCerberus has stunned us with many superb MOCs, not only with his construction skills, but his ability to discuss his design process.

TalonCard kicked off The Guide to the Pirate Minifigure Article series and has provided us with magazine scans of rare Pirate LEGO Comics.

A Big Thank You

I want to thank everyone who showed an interest in helping out with the blog. If you were not selected please don't feel bad, there were many more candidates than were needed, so it was a tough decision.

We are happy to provide constructive feedback to whoever wasn't selected. Just post in this thread or PM Mister Phes if you're not bold enough for it to be posted in the forum.

There are always opportunities opening up within the Shipyard Crew. You can bet that we will come here and remember those who shared interest when filling future positions, we have more than just bloggers

Again thank you to everyone who applied.

Wow, I'd be really interested in the open positions at the shipyard crew. It'd be great to be able to blog creations and topics, I'd love to join. :pir-sweet:

I seriously am commited to it and can get on EB at least once most days.

I am interested in this opportunity. I am well over the required age. I troll the forum and C-P website regularly. I speak English fluently and my mother was an English teacher. As such, I know my grammar... my spelling on the other hand...

I have solid computer technical skills though I have not worked specifically with the Visual Wordpress software or any HTML coding. I am positive I could pick it up however.

There will definitely be future opportunities, the age requirement is something we've always had and we'd like to stick with it.

Also please note this is not a first come first serve, I will leave this thread open for about a week and then we will pick from the candidates.

Thank you for your interest, stick around, be a good contributing member, and we'll notice you, and maybe even approach you in the future.

Hi,

I would be very interested in the position. I'm Adrick, a fluent English speaker and writer. I've written a few articles for classic-pirates in the past. I've been contributing Star Wars book reviews to TheForce.Net on a regular basis for several years now. (You can check out links to the reviews here.) I've had a story commissioned for Starwars.com's (now defunct) Hyperspace section. It was called "Death in the Slave Pits of Lorrd".

I've also had some experience with Photoshop.

Just this past week, I found myself wondering what I could do to be more of a contributor around here. Sure I comment, offer assistance where I can and of course show off my own projects, but I’ve wanted to do more for a while now. I’m not sure about what sort of content I’d need to generate in this role, but I’d like to throw my hat into the ring. I like this community and would enjoy being a greater part, taking it to new and better places. I am of course fluent in written English. I have experience with photo editing and graphic design as well as videography and photography. Even if this works out not to be the particular job for me I’d like to find the one that is.

You don't have to create any new material for the blogger role.

Our bloggers blog things found on our own forum as well as from around the web that our news scout discovers.

Hello,

My name is Daniel, I am an adult AFOL living in Texas and would be very interested in joining the Classic-Piates.com team. Been collecting Legos for over 25 years now and Pirates are my favorite of all the Lego themes.

I currently maintain my own Lego blog (www.thelegochronicler.blogspot.com) where I routinely write about a variety of Lego subjects including new releases, set reviews (which I also post on Lego's website under TheLegoChronicler as well), MOCs, modifications and more. Been doing Lego reviews for almost a year and the blog for over 6 months now and am therfore very familiar with the time requirements and have not found them to be a problem. Some potentially applicable (i.e. Pirate related) blog entires I have done are as follows:

1. Modification I did of the Queen Anne's Revenge

2. Reviews of two of the new Pirates of the Carribean sets: Queen Anne's Revenge, Whitecap Bay and The Mill

3. The start of my current project to ressurect the Skull's Eye Schooner

I am great with english (used to be a writing tutor part time), am well over the minimum age and am familiar with a variety of word processing software both online and stand alone. Would love to join the team. Thanks!

Daniel

I am definatle qualified.

I am almost a WORSHIPER of Classic-Pirates.com, as I check it constantly every day.

I am 17, turning 18 in November.

I can speak, (and type), very fluently in English, and can translate messages to other members of differing languages.

I have wished to join Classic Pirates.com for quite some time now, and hoped for the oppertunity.

I have collected as many LEGO Pirates sets for as long as possible, and have extensive knowlege of the LEGO Pirates genre.

I would LOVE to join this blog website, and appriciate your time!

Also I'd like to thank everyone who has shown interest. No decisions have been made yet, we are waiting until after the thread is closed to make sure we have all candidates that are interested.

Thank you all for your interests. I am closing this thread for the time being and I will post our selections here to let everyone know. If we select you, you will receive a PM from either me or someone else on the Shipyard Crew. Please give us some time to decide as making decisions on forums can take time to get everyone's feedback, due to different time zones and personal lives and all that good stuff.

So stay tuned, and thank you again for everyone who showed interest.
