Gatekeeper Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Can anyone help out with the element ID's for all the black knight pieces? please, shield, helmet, armour torso etc. Much appreciated. Were you looking for pictures or just which ones are new? My Joust arrived today and the only new parts on the Falcon Knight, is the armor, the shield, and the great helm. The head, and the body printing we've seen before. Edited December 31, 2011 by Gatekeeper Quote

David Thomsen Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I can't believe no one has done a review yet, at least not a pictorial review (I don't bother with video reviews) I particularly want to see what it looks like with the MMV. Quote
SilvaShado Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I saw it in my local LEGO store yesterday and it does look very nice. I'm so happy for the new female minifigure in the green dress, but sad that they just re-included the same queen. I also found it odd that everything for the Falcon Knight is in the Dragon Knight colors, like they just switched the shields at the last minute. I'm not completely complaining because I like Falcon Knights, but I suspect that this should have been a final culmination for the Dragon Knights versus the Lion Knights. Here's hoping I can afford two copies, one to build as is and for parts! Quote
PhaTic Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Very nice set! The parts looks very useful. The minifigures are great. This is one set I plan to pick up later in the year. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 SilvaShado I agree. I am excited for the new female and the new nobleman printing, but to have yet another queen and king is a little disappointing. I understand they would be the type of people hosting or watching this type of event, but to have another kingdoms King watching would also add something extra. There isn't a lot exclusive to just this set other than a few figures and new falcon barding. So for that price, I don't know if it is worth it. For the piece count, yes the price is great! To add the joust set-up with the King's Castle, in my opinion, wouldn't work too well since the build style is completely different. I really like how the new joust is built and I like how the King's Castle looks when all finished, but I don't think they would mesh well together, too near each other. I would expect the jousting arena to be somewhere on the castle grounds, but not actually attached to the castle itself. And I agree on a pictorial review, not video. Quote
VBBN Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 This set looks LOVELY And if I get a random 120 to throw down on it, consider me sold on it. Loving the figures and the set itself looks fantastic Quote
BTappel Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Maybe there is no pictorial review yet because everyone is too busy playing with it! After all, the set is pretty sick. I plan on picking up at least 1 and maybe even 4. Then I think 4 x 120 = 480... That is a lot of dough. I should at least wait for a sale or double VIP points or something... Quote
Silver.Smith Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Finished building the Joust tonight, I must say it looks even more epic in person then on the box. Edited January 3, 2012 by Silver.Smith Quote

It is a bit of a let down in the minifigure department, as far as new goes. I believe the princess is the only new one? I differ though, I think it will look ok with the castle. It won't be like HP did, but It could work. Quote

Vindicare Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Is no one else excited about the black great helm? It is a nifty little addition to the set. True. The Black Falcon bits are nice. Big plus is you get 3 shields, which for people like me who were dumb dumb kids and sold all their childhood LEGO. Sorry, sorry. I'm ok, really. It would've been nice to have a squire for the BF with that black open faced helm that ends in a point, I loved that one! I'm really excited nonetheless to get this and add it to my castle. Anyone who has both, let's see some different configurations of the castle and joust wall together, pretty please. Edited January 3, 2012 by Legocrazy81 Quote

Admittedly only his torso print is really new, but usually that's the most important part anyway. Not much related to that, but if I could have made one wish to change something in the minifigs, I would have... well, of course I would have wanted a Black Falcon torso for the knight, but if I would have had two wishes I would have wished that the princess would have had this old high cone hat or something similar instead of such a common hairpiece. I thought he was the same one as in the Advent Calendar. Upon further investigation, he is not. I remember a thread debating whether his medallion is a dragon, lion, or grapes... Maybe it was early pictures of this set we were talking about. Quote
Wardancer Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) My interest in the joust even dropped further when I just reminded myself that in CMF Series 7 a Black Knight which is IMHO superior to the one in the joust will be available... for 2,49 Euro ... in every number I want in every store I know. Hive Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I don't see this set as being nearly as good as MMV, to be honest. The main structure(s) does not look enough like King's Castle to fit with it without changing things around, in my view, and the only thing about the set that really stands out to me is the Black Falcon and his shields. And that's simply not worth the price to me. Quote
Nicker Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I just received the Kingdoms Joust set today! Here are some photos of the box in my blog if anyone is interested http://nicksbricks.blogspot.com/ Sorry about the glare from the flash in the one photo. I will try and take better ones when I get a chance. Quote

Artifex Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Anyone got a review coming? Please, please, pretty please? Yeah, I saw all of them on YouTube, but I want (need!) an Eurobricks review! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Nicker Thanks for the pictures of the box. I really like that box art. I'm still torn on purchasing the set because of all the good points other people have made so far. Nice little blog you have there too. Nice collection of the ladies. I should see how many I have. Yeah, I saw all of them on YouTube, but I want (need!) an Eurobricks review! I think it has reached the stage where no wants to start writing a review because they assume everyone else is just about to post their review and they don't want to put all the effort in just to be third. Maybe we should nominate someone to write the review. Edited January 5, 2012 by David Thomsen Quote
