Cherno Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) As found on theawesomer.com. Hope this is not a repost Builder's MOC page: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/62542 Edit: Just noticed that creater Mike Doyle is registered here, so I hope he finds this thread and shares further insight into his projects! Locutis Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 That is just absolutely awesome! I can't even begin to imagine the thought and the planning required to design and build something this well done. It truly is a piece of art, not just some Lego set or MOC. I know you're not the builder/designer, but I would like to extend the appreciation towards the original artist for building and sharing this with us. I could never even hope to build something so grand and detailed. All I can say again, is awesome. With Halloween rapidly approaching, the designer should take credit here, and this should be front-paged, in my opinion. Locutis Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Very spooky. This has got to be one of the most realistic creations I've ever seen in Lego. With the first pic, you could almost think that the house is real. Wow, there are some very talented lego fans. Great find! Quote
Pingles Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 If I am not mistaken he is an artist who is fascinated by buildings in decay. He decided to use Lego as a medium for the challenge. Remarkable work. I wonder if he is still using Lego or has moved on to another medium. Quote
L@go Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 He's still using Lego - that last one (the biggest) isn't a month old yet. Printed photos of his works are available here - I've been seriously considering buying a couple... Oh, and his blog is here. It features some very interesting insights into how he builds his masterpieces. Quote
Andy D Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I just noticed the size. He lists it as 5.5x6x3 feet! Using 110 to 130 thousand pieces. The first one is huge. The others are pretty large as well. All LEGO, no paint, no glue! Fantastic sculptures! Andy D Quote
lorax Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I just noticed the size. He lists it as 5.5x6x3 feet! Using 110 to 130 thousand pieces. Wow, that is huge, no wonder he mentions that he doesn't have room to keep them built (other than needing the pieces). Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 This is absolutely incredible! I haven't never seen so many perfect houses in decay! Quote
bootz Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 That is insane. I'm almost in disbelief that those are made with legos. Quote
LandShark Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 What? This isn't Lego, why post it here? Amazing, simply amazing... Quote
Kryne Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 They are just amazing, had to do a double take to see why they were posted here. Wish i had the ability and imagination to do something like that, but i could never be able to destroy something as amazing as that Quote
