Bob Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) CHAPTER FOUR - THREE'S A CROWD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's late at night in Lexington. Various sounds reverberate throughout the town, ranging from the crickets to loud music. People are out late tonight, performing various actions and deeds. One such figure is watching Deputy Chief Scott's house. "I'll catch her doing any wrongdoing!" the figure says. Someone else joins the first inky form. "Oh, this is awkward." the second figure says. "What's with the helmet?" the first one asks. Before the figure can answer, a third shadowy shape approaches. "Three's a crowd, guys." it says. "Honestly, I wasn't expecting this." one of them comments. The three figures leave then, not wanting to be identified by their fellow watchers. The next morning, Winston has once again woken up early and dressed. The Jordan's, on a morning stroll, see him exit his townhouse. "Good morning, Winston!" they say in near unison, smiling. "Good morning! Lovely day, isn't it?" A few of the others start to show up. Jeremy is returning from his morning swim in the ocean. Officer Hutch has brought his dog with him. Amber has gone outside to see what all the commotion is. "What's up, dudes?" Jeremy asks. Slowly but surely, the rest of the inexperienced investigators arrive. However, they simply wait around for leadership to come their way. "Good Morning." The GovernorCongressmanMayor said. "I've enlisted some help from an outside source." The roar of a loud engine is heard, as a bright red sports car zooms down the street, and stops on the sidewalk, causing the townspeople to jump out of the way. A man steps out. "Greetings." the man says. "My name is Special Agent Stone. You may refer to me as Special Agent Stone." "OK." the townspeople reply. The eager FBI Agent immediately jumps into some questions. "Have you investigated the buildings nearby for evidence?" "Have you checked to see if there's any video cameras?" "Have you figured out who phoned in the death?" There is silence. "What have you been doing for the past three days?!" he asks incredulously. The townspeople shuffle nervously a bit, before one of them works up the courage to speak. "We were at the police station for three days." someone says. "And we trashed a house yesterday." He gives them all a glare, before returning to his vehicle. "I'll be doing some investigating of my own." he says. "Good luck." With that, he drives off. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Players (14) Mr. Jack Montgomery --- Mrlegoninja Mrs. Julia Montgomery --- Dannylonglegs Jeremy Montgomery --- ADHO15 Mr. Alex Jordan --- Cralegoboy Mrs. Sarah Jordan --- Brickdoctor Mr. Winston Robertson --- Rumble Strike Amber Robertson --- Peanuts Officer Steven Jackson --- Professor Flitwick Ashley Baker --- K-nut Marcus Baker --- CallMePieOrDie Officer Ryan Hutch --- badboytje88 Mr. James Swanson --- CorneliusMurdock Robbie Swanson --- Jedi master Brick Deputy Chief Jackie Scott --- Fugazi Deceased: Police Chief Arnold McGovern --- def Rules: (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor and Red Scare Mystery) 1. There are 16 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. I will always give a detailed explanation of a room, however, feel free to ask for clarification. 3. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 4. Please try to avoid editing your posts. If you made a spelling error, simply post immediately after correcting your spelling error. If you wish to add more, a double post can be made, however use this rule wisely. Obviously, you may not make a quadruple post. Please wait for someone else to post before you post something else, unless absolutely necessary. 5. You can reference anything in pop culture, as this is being played real time. You can mention current events if you want to. You can use any electronic device that you wish to use, with exception. For example, you can’t take out your time machine to determine who the killers are. 6. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. However, you may not return to a room that you were already in, so ensure that you have searched every part of the room before leaving. 7. There are a few NPC’s in certain areas of the town. These NPC’s might have evidence, however they might not. Also, the evidence given by them might be false information. You cannot do anything other than talk to these NPC’s. You can only go and speak to them when you arrive in their area. For example, each NPC is in a certain part of the town. If you’re at point A, you cannot go and speak to an NPC at point B. 8. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. 10. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. 11. There will be a life-point system. Every player starts out with ten life-points, and regenerates one life point at the end of a chapter. For example, if you fall and twist your ankle, you’d likely lose one life point. If you fall off a boat into an engine prop, you’re likely to lose most if not all of your life points. Think logically. Perhaps walking along the rickety boards in the construction zone is not a good idea. 12. The host is usually always right. If you think he’s wrong, feel free to send me a message about it. 13. Most of all have fun. This game is meant to be enjoyable despite the "questionable" things occurring. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. Marcus Baker (CallMePie) now has 7 life points. Edited October 5, 2011 by Bob_
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I believe a few people thought we should go to town hall. Should we start there or does anyone have a better idea?
Professor Flitwick Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 "Have you figured out who phoned in the death?" "Well, I did ask about that, but had little to go on." "Have you investigated the buildings nearby for evidence?" "What buildings are near the fountain?"
Rumble Strike Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Winston grumbles. "That FBI man sassing us. He's been trained for years to investigate stuff like this. We are well-meaning but clueless townsfolk who'se main suspect is the deputy! What does he expect? I would like to know what building is closest to the fountain where the Chief was murdered.
Sisco Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I'll wait patiently while we figure out where we are, and then cast my vote for the Town Hall.
Peanuts Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Let's hope that smart-alec agent finds out something. If he's as good at investigating as at criticizing others, he should have solved the case by noon. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning who lives near the fountain.
CMP Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Alright then, Mr. Smartyinvestigator. I'd also like to know the buildings around the fountain.
Bob Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Since it is in the center of the town, most of the buildings are near it. Primarily, Ashley's Grocery Store, The Montgomery Pet Store and Officer Hutch's apartment over it, the Robertson Residence, the Police Station, and the Fire Department.
Brickdoctor Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Shall we return to the Police Station check out Officer Hutch's apartment? It might be a good place to start, since he's also a policeman.
Jedi master Brick Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 A fine night, yeah the are round the fountain could hide an assiain
Professor Flitwick Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Shall we return to the Police Station check out Officer Hutch's apartment? It might be a good place to start, since he's also a policeman. "I'm in favour of going to Hutch's apartment. I should also point out I'm a cop who lives near the fountain; me and Ash live above her grocery store."
Fugazi Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Let's go to Hutch's place. Now, are there any CCTV cameras around the fountain? Perhaps on the police station or the fire department?
badboytje88 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 You're all welcome over at my place. Just don't trash it up! I personally would like to know if any of the buildings near the fountain has a security camera.
badboytje88 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 You're all welcome over at my place. Just don't trash it up! I personally would like to know if any of the buildings near the fountain has a security camera.
Bob Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Let's go to Hutch's place. Now, are there any CCTV cameras around the fountain? Perhaps on the police station or the fire department? The Fire Department has one as well as Ashley's Grocery Store.
ADHO15 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 "I suggest we go look at the CCTV footage in both of these places. I don't suppose the group could split into two to make things quicker, could it?"
Peanuts Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 In this case, let's move to the Grocery Store and analyze those footages. I'm curious what we'll find. Does any of the two cameras record the fountain?
Rumble Strike Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Winston spoke up. "I second the idea that we go as separate groups to the two places that had CCTV. I think that's our most solid lead at the moment."
badboytje88 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I'd like to pic up the footage from both camera's and watch it to see if they recorded the crime. If not I'd like to see if any of the cameras recorded the Chief prior to his death.
CMP Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I'd like to know if there is somewhere we can watch these tapes. Although it's unlikely god would make things this easy to find out, it's worth a shot.
Brickdoctor Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I suggest we all head to the grocery store, so we can check out a police officer's dwelling and a security camera at the same time.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I suggest we all head to the grocery store, so we can check out a police officer's dwelling and a security camera at the same time. Not a bad idea. And if anyone's low on milk, they can pick some up. Talk about multi-tasking.
CMP Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Not a bad idea. And if anyone's low on milk, they can pick some up. Talk about multi-tasking. That's a fine idea. I can grab some Cap'n Crunch. They're having a promotion, there's a miniature of one of your favorite Star Trek TM characters in every box!!! And I don't even have to get them shipped from Japan this time! Er...right, grocery store.
Professor Flitwick Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 "If this is what the majority wish, lets go to Ashley's grocery store/our apartment!" Not a bad idea. "You guys have no idea how convenient is to live above a grocery store!"
Jedi master Brick Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 The grocery store could be really useful, I could get the newspaper
