Athos Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Actually, I was just trying to be difficult... ;-) I think you've got a rather nice forum here. Its just hard to keep interest in a (temporarily) dead theme... Steve Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 20, 2006 Author Governor Posted September 20, 2006 Actually Mr Athos, you've raised a very important issue. Some users have asked why isn't the Pirate theme as popular as Castle and much of the reason is, like you said the theme is "dead" so there's nothing to stimulate interest. Well, that was until this forum came along and by jobe we'll do what it take to stimulate enough interest to at least make the theme "undead"! Or till such a time The LEGO Company properly resurrects it. Anyway, upon this Talk Like A Pirate Day, I am curious to know what would make it easier to keep interest in this "dead" theme? (Aside, from The LEGO Comapny releasing new sets). Quote
Athos Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 by jobe I believe the correct expression is: 'by Jove,' but whatever. I am curious to know what would make it easier to keep interest in this "dead" theme? No idea. If I knew, I'd attempt it for Adventurers. Maybe a contest? The CCC kept CC going through several dry years. Steve P.S. Post #666, strange that it would be in the pirate forum... 8- Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 20, 2006 Author Governor Posted September 20, 2006 I believe the correct expression is: 'by Jove,' but whatever. But jobe I believe you're right! However, I care not for accuracy when it comes to popular (or formerly popular) phrases. I am curious to know what would make it easier to keep interest in this "dead" theme? No idea. If I knew, I'd attempt it for Adventurers. Maybe a contest? The CCC kept CC going through several dry years. Well you obviously have an idea by suggesting the contest, which probably isn't a bad one providing there were sufficient participants. Would you participate in a Pirate MOC competition Mr Athos? Post #666, strange that it would be in the pirate forum... 8- Quote
Athos Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Well you obviously have an idea by suggesting the contest Well I guess you have me there. It was more of an after-thought, occurring after I'd typed the no idea portion... Would you participate in a Pirate MOC competition Mr Athos? I might. Though I don't work well with deadlines, at least when it comes to Lego. It makes play seem more like work, if I'm rushing to meet a deadline. And I don't really have access to many of my pirate lego, so it would be hard for me to do anything. Steve Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 21, 2006 Author Governor Posted September 21, 2006 I've created a thread with poll so we can discuss Pirate MOC competition further, so check out Are you interesting in a Pirate MOC competition?. And there we can plan a possible (no guarentees though) Pirate MOC competition and decide things like what a reasonable time period would be. Quote
