Zarkan Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 One huge dude. This really rocks. I could never make something like him, even if I had the parts. 8- Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I don't actually think it's that good. It's too big in the wings and I don't like the proportions. I'm willing to bet a much better MoC could be made from these pieces, even if much smaller. EDIT:I enjoy most of Cajun's work, which this is obviously immitating :-P but the only good thing about this is it's size. If you want something big that's remarkable, look to Cajun's dragon displayed in the Castle area at this years Brickfest. Quote
ghoulrealm Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I wouldn't think that that would sway a system lover at all. The one thing I dislike about bionicle is the oversized figures anyway. And It's still a specialized technic robot/person thing. I love the new little bionicle minifigs, not particularly on their own but excellent new small specialized parts and it is a step in the right direction for system mocers. The moc itself is good, but again, it's just way too big. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Yeah, bigger isn't always better (that's not a Cajun moc, btw. It's more of an homage to his style by someone else). Don't get suckered in by size. Granted, some skill is needed in creating large objects and stabilizing them... but the design is kind of all over & I doubt it's able to be dynamically posed. I made a giant moc once, but I never went back to that type. Not yet anyway. If it can't truly be posed, it's just a statue. And if it's just a statue, it had better be perfect in every way, as all excuses in regards to a "function" are removed. It's not a terrible moc, but it's clearly a first attempt at such a thing. Kikuichimonji Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I still don't like Bioincle. And bfs' Bionicle MOCs are much better then this one anyway. As Yoda would say: Size matters not. Quote
Jipay Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 As Yoda would say: Size matters not. I could easely make a list of thing where size matters big times X-D Well as Jinzo mentioned, it looks like a statue. I'm not a fan of this at : it looks a lot like pieces all thrown together into a massive MOC. What makes me like bionicles are those new sweet MF sized sets :'-) Quote
Paradosis Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Still don't like Bionicle, sorry ;-) Quote
Hobbes Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 After seeing this I like Bionuckle even less... and I was already at "leastest" before... Sorry, can't convert me ;-) Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Even though I like Bioncle to start with. I can see where these guys are coming from. It's not that good, there are much better MOCs out there. You need more money than sense to even be able to create something of that scale. I agree with Yoda on this one *yoda* ;-) Quote
Kahgarak Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Although the wings ARE kind of too big,i truly love the rest of this MOC.Great design. However,it looks either like a statue or a very unstable MOC. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I've come to realize even I don't like Bionicle, but that's not as it sounds. I think Bionicle is an INCREDIBLE Lego line that I hope doesn't exit for a few years... but only because it's a great source of parts to enhance system. If Bionicle went away and only Technic was left, it'd be a bunch of beams and axles, rarely touching on posable joints. Bionicle as action figures DEMAND that a hefty supply of joints enter the Lego building community every year. And that remedies the problem that always stopped me from getting into both System and Lego itself... free movement. Bionicle = the ability for bricky ol' Lego to enter into action figure territory. Quote
Lamanda2 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 It's creative, yes, and big, of coarse, but I still don't quite like it, there is something about bionicle I just don't like... All of it! :-D ..Man, could you imagine the time that went into it though? Quote
Hobbes Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 ..Man, could you imagine the time that went into it though? Hmm... about a minute, I guess: Empty all your Bionuckle bins/cans, arrange the pieces so they look like an action figure, spray-glue all of it, wait, set it up, voil Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Now you're just bein' silly. That thing is tall. It's tricky to do that in Technic. And to do it in System, it'd end up looking like a tall, square tower... right before the arms disconnected and came crashing to the ground. :-D A novice built that... could a novice in System have built that high? Technic lets you build high. With a bit of System, that moc would be way better. Still, just as I cringe at the super detailed, but ugly-up-close Gundam models Systemers build, this Bionicle one has the crap's-sticking-out-everywhere fallacy. With better proportions, a lil' system & smoother lines... this'd be much better. ... ...man, I'm all over the place, aren't I? :-| Quote

With a bit of System, that moc would be way better.Still, just as I cringe at the super detailed, but ugly-up-close Gundam models Systemers build, this Bionicle one has the crap's-sticking-out-everywhere fallacy. The only joints I have came with 4506 Deep Sea Predators. I kinda liked them but wouldn't know where to use them... As for this MOC: yeah, it's a bit too greebly for my taste ;-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 First off, I don't hate Bionicle Second, I don't find this model that great !! The only person that make me like Bionicle MOCs is BFS 8- Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 (edited) ^^^ As much as I like the guy, alot of his do the same thing this one does. Too many shooty offy things, not enough posability. The color schemes he uses are great though. And his available parts arsenal... my god. X-O His stuff definitely gives your eyes something to do for a few minutes. Edited September 9, 2006 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
BillytheKid Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 It's a nice moc. But I can't be converted to bionicle aswell. Trains are much more fun *wub* . Quote
