Siegfried Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Any particular reason why you're using Windows 7 Starter? In any case, have you tried running it as an administrator or via a compatibility mode? Quote

DLuders Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 @ rubbereend: Welcome to Eurobricks by the way. Does your Windows 7 have a 32-bit operating system (OS), or a 64-bit OS? To find out, left-click on the Windows "Start" icon at the lower-left corner of your screen, right-click on "Computer", and left-click on "Properties" to see the "System type." If you have a 64-bit OS, you could follow the instructions on this webpage. I used Yahoo! Babelfish to translate that webpage from English to Dutch. Here is a Microsoft Windows webpage that helps "Getting Lego Mindstorms NXT 1.1 to Load on Windows 7" (in English and Dutch). Quote
Siegfried Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Does your Windows 7 have a 32-bit operating system (OS), or a 64-bit OS? I can answer that; Windows 7 Starter is always 32 bit. Quote

mescalinum Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) there was a trick in order to install NXT software on Windows 7 Started (I installed it on my netbook) it involved changing the setup.ini file. if you google around probably you find it I googled that for you: To install NXT software on Windows 7 Starter Editions edit the setup.ini file in the [OS] section to include the following "AllowWindowsStarter=1" from http://messageboards.lego.com/en-US/showpost.aspx?PostID=3204252 Edited October 10, 2011 by mescalinum Quote
