Tell me more about this investment banking, Winston. Surely you had to start with some money to make more. Do you have any proof that investments is where the money comes from?

"I did start with the fortune I inherited from my parents, yes. I have merely been able to add to it using my knowledge of banking and also my shrewd eye when it comes to the arts. Let us not forget who has been behind the campaign to get Lexington a library. I woudl like everyone to share in the wonders of history and art."

He turned to Officer Jackson.

"There will be no shaking of any of these artifacts! Please, Deputy Scott, make sure your colleague does not do that!"

Winston sat down, red faced and slightly out of breath. He was not a young man anymore and the strain of having his house investigaed appeared to be telling on him.

I'm sorry Mrs Jordan, but we're investigating a murder -- plus arson -- and until we find who's behind it everyone is suspect. I insist you tell us more about this letter. You do realise that hiding anything from us makes you look suspicious?

With utmost care, I would like to open/examine all of Winston's collection pieces, looking for hidden objects.

Nothing appears to be overly suspicious, other than the red jewel that is knocked onto the ground. Scott touches the Golden Dinosaur's head, and its mouth opens, revealing a few single dollar bills.

"Well, that failed. I'm Officer Jackson, investigating into the murder of Chief McGovern. There is a possible, if flimsy, lead that indicates Mr. Winston may have some connections to the murder. We need to know, what are the most recent purchases of Mr. Winston?"

Upon finding out what the most recent items he acquired are, I'd like to shake and closely examine them.

"Chief Who? Whatever, why didn't you say you were with the police? Mr. Robertson recently purchased a stone tablet from Egypt. It's carved with hieroglyphics. Any other questions?"

The stone tablet in question is the item on the gray box.

I'd like to look inside the aforesaid grey box.

I'd also like to look for fingerprints on the glass cover of the jewel on the ground. Fingerprints should be visible on glass without special equipment.

In find that strange, as I supposed Dad would tread his geegaw overcarefully.

"Sorry Winston, but as everyone is so keen on believing the forgetful Firefighters' story, we had better clear your name, don't you think?"

"Chief Who? Whatever, why didn't you say you were with the police? Mr. Robertson recently purchased a stone tablet from Egypt. It's carved with hieroglyphics. Any other questions?"

"Yes, have you delivered anything else to him within the past week? Other than that, I can't think of anything. We may contact you again, based on what we find. Thank you for your assistance."

I'd like to hold the tablet up, feeling if is hallow. I'd then like to hold it up to the light, and have it closely described to me.

Red jewel? Knocked onto the ground?

What's the story behind this artefact, Winston? When did you last see it, and didn't you notice it had been knocked over?

So now you know. My wife is a *****. She cheated on me, even after we had a child. I think we should search my place after the Jordan Residence since Julia was involved in the affair too.

The box is empty. There's no fingerprints on the glass either.

"Nope, just that. Bye now."

Very carefully, Officer Jackson holds the tablet up. It is heavy, and holding it to the light doesn't reveal anything interesting. The carvings are very intricate. It portrays a map, featuring a few pyramids, some obelisks, and a few other ruins. It details the kingdom of Pharaoh Tuoteconan.

Can Winston explain the out-of-place jewel?

Mr. Jordan, do you know who took the pictures and why?

"I-I don't know. I don't know who, or why. I've been trying to end it. I just didn't want to hurt Julia, or the secret to get out... And she's so persistant..."

Oh! I'm persistent? You don't think I'm reasonable enough to talk to?! You don't want to hurt me? Let me let you down easy: I love Jack, but he won't reciprocate! He loves his God**** pets more than me and his family! He's been so distant! His pet shop is eating up all his time and passion in a way I never could! We used to go on trips Jack! We used to see the world and marvel at its glory, but now I'm lower than a dog! Is there any question as to why I'd seek affection from someone who has some to give?!

"I'm afraid I don't know why the jewel has been knocked off. I normally am very careful around such artifacts as you can imagine."

Winston quickly puts the out of place glass container back on its pedestal.

I believe there is another floor to this building?

I would like to move to the next floor and have a look around.

"Feel free, Deputy Scott. As you can see, I have nothing to hide. With the adultery revelation, I do agree that searching the Jordan and Montogomery houses would be of most benefit next.

As I said before - love and lust can be very destructive emotions, there are many plays and films that have this concept as a central premise."

This floor belongs to Amber. There's a bed, a few boxes, and also, not pictured, a door leading outside to a terrace garden and a television set.

I'd like to check the boxes' content.

Amber opens the boxes; they're packed with clothes, personal mementos, and other various items including a Lexington High School Class of 2003 Yearbook, a photograph of Amber with Winston and another woman, a copy of "So You Want to Buy a Home: Tips for First Time Homeowners", and a ring with the words "Together Forever" engraved in it.

robbie_swanson.jpg

"Wow, you were Class of 2003? Me too!"

james_swanson.jpg

"No Robbie, you were Class of 2006."

robbie_swanson.jpg

"Oh."

I'd like to pass the photo around, and see if either I or anyone else recognises the woman in the photo.

I'd like to check under the mattress, the bed, the pillow, and the blankets.

Julia does an excellent search of the bed, looking under the mattress. There's nothing evident there. Under the bed, however, is a few more boxes with postage stamps on them. There's nothing under the pillow or blankets.

I'd like to dig up the terrace garden.

img_1126.jpg

Marcus tears all of Amber's hard work away, however he can't see anything suspicious or out of place in the garden.

Who is the woman on this photo, if I may ask? Is it your mother, Amber?

mr._robertson.jpg

"That's my ex-wife. She left Amber and I many years ago." Winston says sadly.

You could of talked about it. I would give up the whole pet shop to be with you and our son. And how long have you been having this affair.
