1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 According to "Brickipedia" series 6 will be white/gray and series 7 will be red. Yeah, this wouldn't be the first time that false, unsourced info is posted on Brickipedia. For instance, if I recall correctly, Brickipedia once said that Series 5 was the last series! We must remember that there are many kids on Brickipedia that sometimes make edits that they innocently believe provide correct information, while they don't. Actually, it has been pointed out repeatedly before that making the bags red would make it harder to see the red marks on the packages. I wouldn't mind that, but apparently it's enough to keep Lego from using red. Bring on black! Bring on purple! Quote
SilentMode Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I'm not about to trust Brickipedia on it if it hasn't been sourced. Red is a prominent color that hasn't yet been used, but I don't think we've had any confirmation of what Series 7 is. As long as it's a matching brick colour, I don't mind. I do think they should reserve white and black for extra special editions, though. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) extra special editions This is just making me think of the never ending double releases of pokemon games Ruby and Sapphire and so on and so on... Edited November 9, 2011 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
mo123567 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) I've actually seen evidence that series 6 will be white, based on the picture with the white background and green question marks. I have yet to see any similar picture for series 7. I do believe red packaging is possible. They did it with the vintage minifig line. I'm sure we will see red eventually, maybe even dark red. edit: ^I meant we will see red packaging not bull-like anger^ Edited November 9, 2011 by mo123567 Quote

Of course, yes, but the retailer's image for series 5 had a purple background that made many of us believe that the bags were going to be purple. I just hope they use more colors before resorting to shades of colors they have already used. I'm not a big fan of the light blue used in series 5. Quote

I wasn't aware that series 5 showed up with a purple background at one time. Was it actually purple or a bad scan of light blue accompanied with the rumor that purple would be the series 5 color? Also, did the image have the question marks that are in the background on all the packaging? Either way, I agree with you about reusing colors in different shades before representing all the primary and secondary colors. It is odd to use blue twice after only 5 series. Quote

Take a look by yourself on this site. It was definitely a bad scan, but I highly doubt that the resulting hue could have been only the effect of that. It is clear to me that the original image had no light blue. Also, I presume this is what caused the rumours of the bags being purple. Quote

I guess I can't be sure that series 6 will be white. Quote

The Series 5 image linked was a leaked preliminary image. Grogall's images, even if the sites they come from weren't necessarily supposed to disclose them so soon, are all finalized and lack watermarks. Observe. Edited November 11, 2011 by Aanchir Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I hadn't noticed the Surgeon's X-Ray scan is trans. Sweeeeet! I admit I would bet on Series 7 being white, although I won't take it for a fact until we see the baggies. Quote

mo123567 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 White is a good wintery color for series 6. I wonder if they will continue to avoid dark colors in favor of bright colors. Black looked fine on the vintage minifig line. Maybe series 7 will be dark brown... but probably not. Quote

Black looked fine on the vintage minifig line. Maybe series 7 will be dark brown... but probably not. Dark brown packaging doesn't sell toys. There is a lot of science that has gone into the packaging of any product. LEGO is aimed at children, and bright colors attract the attention of children. Yellow, blue, green, orange, and light blue are all bright colors and will get a child's attention. The places I have bought CMs from usually have dark backgrounds, so white would stand out. LEGO is going to try to avoid using colors seen as "boring" by kids, and dark brown is one of these colors. I think that LEGO will use red eventually, but they will probably try to use a lot of other colors before red so they don't have packaging that blends into the minifigure and LEGO logo. Quote

I was only kidding about Dark Brown. It's probably one of the last colors lego would use. I wonder if they will just start repeating colors if this series lasts much longer. Quote
Fugazi Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 A small update: Mr Toys Toyworld (Australia) lists Series 7 available in May 2012 and Series 8 (8833) expected in September 2012. Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I don't know if this has been posted, but a while ago, Series 7 was confirmed to be red.. -Sci Quote

The armor and helmet bear a striking resemblance to the Spartans from the HALO series. Not me, because of the violence in it. I don't want to open up a can of worms about the violence policy again.. I think I read somewhere that the Halo lisence for MB is ending soon..can't remember. Is anyone else really excited about the Little Red Riding Hood? Finally, with that cloak and hood, I'll be able to make Mumm-Ra in LEGO form! Bluebeard, out- I'd use her and the Monster Fighters Werewolf for some MOCs.. -Sci Edited December 31, 2011 by CM4S Quote

Hey, thanks for the news, Fugazi! It appears that the release dates are being pushed forward a bit for these series. I remember Series 4 coming out in April and Series 5 in August (although those might not have been the 'official' release dates). Either way, I can't wait for Series 7! I don't know if this has been posted, but a while ago, Series 7 was confirmed to be red.. -Sci I'm pretty sure that 'confirmation' was from Brickipedia, which has been less than reliable in the past. Funny, because I'm the one who put that there. The person (Impertune-dunte or something along those lines, it was a German Star Wars site..) who uploaded it posted that they saw that the packets would be red in the catalog that showed the Series 6 prelim pic. I can reword that if you want..made no sense to me -Sci Quote
