jonwil Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Neat to know that the S7 fig is actually named "Computer Programmer" and not just something generic like "Geek" :) Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 OK whilst we are on the subject of copyright, are they actually going to call the 'Space Marine' a 'Space Marine' as that most definately is copyright by Games Workshop and the figure as was pointed out earlier in this thread does have certain similarities with that companies models, ie large shoulder pads, full armour and so on. I love the look of it and would hate to see the range (Or even that figure)get pulled over legal tussle. But I know from reading other forums that GW have seem to send C&Ds to anyone who even remotely looks like they may be infrining on their IP. Hopefully they will call it something generic enough to not cause a legal row. Would love to see both companies do a colaboration, but I know that is unlikely, but would hate to see them getting into an arguement as well. Quote

Zeya Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Looking at the Friends Discussion thread, I found this: That's it. I'm officially starting the rumor about Friends figs in the CMF packets. "Just feel for the heart shaped hair clip. That's when you know it's Olivia. You can tell because she doesn't have a surfboard." Edit: Wait a minute. Series 7 in March? This can't be. That would mean they're upping it to 4 series a year. I haven't even seen Series 6 around here. Maybe they just used the wrong photo. Edited January 18, 2012 by Zeya Quote

That photo is from the LEGO Magazine and is saying the official release dates for the Friends theme and CM S7 is in March. A little fast I think but the more the better. Quote
Fugazi Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 That photo is from the LEGO Magazine and is saying the official release dates for the Friends theme and CM S7 is in March. A little fast I think but the more the better. Not exactly. The next issue of the LEGO Club Magazine will be out in March, and will presumably feature the S7 Minifigs. But it's not really indicative of the S7 release date. Quote

Oky Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I think Fugazi is right. When you look at the full picture, you'll see that it lists "Lego Friends" a second time and then "Cool Creations" which is what they call the MOCs featured in the magazine, so it can't refer to the release date of themes. Sandy Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I just grabbed the new Finnish LEGO consumer catalogue from the store (along with a couple of freshly released sets... ), and there the Series 7 was marked as being released in June (and Friends in March). But on the other hand we always get the coolest stuff late (or not at all since we don't have a Lego Store) here in Finland. Quote
Fugazi Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 That picture is misleading if that is true. Taken out of context yes. Regular readers of the Club Magazine will be familiar with that box on the last page giving a sneak peek at the next issue content. Quote

Actually, I heard a lot of different rumours. Here in Italy the catalog says JUNE, but last year it said MAY and in april we got them. Furthermore a shop owner surprised me telling me they have already ordered series 7 (which is normal) and that it is due to be shipped in march too, as this user on EB wrote. So I won't be that surprised if somewhere they could arrive in march... in UK and Ireland series 6 was sold in december... Quote

The picture is darkened... Thankfully, from what I can make out, I don't think they're saying to CMFS7 are coming in March, which is quite weird, as that would break the usual pattern of CMF releases. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Odd. I would guess sometime in June or May. I mean, I want the Bunny Suit Guy as much as the next person, but still, I have to collect S6 first! Quote
Brickmamba Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Now that S6 is out the more I look at S7 the more I reckon that it is going to be so much better, figure to figure there are more accessories, more new parts, can't wait! Quote

I totally agree! My new favorites would have to be the Dark Blue figure and the Tennis player. It was a hard choice out of all the amazing figures. Quote
Sid Sidious Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I think Fugazi is right. It looks like the picture is saying that the CM7 will be in the March issue of the magazine. Usually when new lines or sets first appear in the magazines they aren't released yet, and serve as a sneak peek to the people that don't know about new themes months in advance. So, the picture is kind of a sneak peek to the sneak peek. Quote
Markypops Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 If series 7 is in the next Lego magazine then that means that they will not be far off of being released. The reason for differenet release date in different countries will be so Lego can cope with demand, lets face facts this line has been an amazing success for Lego and demand is high, especially when first released. Quote
jonwil Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I think the Computer Programmer is the best fig of all the series so far. Quote

Of course I also think so, but whereas in all catalogs it is said JUNE (I heard that here in Italy and there in Suomi/Finland) I believe we italians will get the minifigures much before June. Quote

No I get it, that is what LEGO is advertising in the next issue of the LEGO CLUB Magazine. Just from that picture it was seemingly as TLG saying "Coming in March" for S7. Not as in coming in the next issue of the LEGO CLUB Magazine. Just saying. Quote

In Sweden the same catalogue says May. I think we can expect them around that time, maybe April for those in North America. Quote
Ogre Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I just hope they wait until my wallet actually has something IN IT before they release series 7. LOL! This year is barely started and my LEGO budget has already taken a pounding. Sheesh. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 It's the same here with 'late' releases. Although I've heard CM7 are due in April (as well as Friends). ...the Series 7 was marked as being released in June (and Friends in March). In my opinion, CM7 have better figures, more interesting and new accesories, and in general I found them more 'civilian' oriented. It's even hard to chose a favourite one. My top choice(s) is/are the nerd (1 going straight to my desktop at work), the hippie (new flower stem ), the tennis player (for the racket mostly) and the swimmer (because of the medal and swimsuits). But then there's the little red riding hood, and the bride, and the bunny costume and scottsman with the bagpipes. Quote
