BrickUpdate Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Wow - I am simply amazed at these! Great new parts, very clever ideas. Great work LEGO! Quote
vexorian Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 With the high res pics, I am concluding that the mustache guy is a stunt driver. Cool actually. Quote
mo123567 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Thank you grogall! These minifigs are amazing! I like the hippie, the aztec warrior, the nerd and the rockstar! And look, a bride! I'm also digging the tennis player. Doesn't the red riding hood face looks a little weird? Like, too big. Yeah, I was thinking that red riding hood's face looks strangely proportioned as well. That and the appearance that the space marine's face has the face shield printed on it are the only two details that seem to bother me about this series. I still like those minifigs, though, and plan to get them. Quote
lorax Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 With the high res pics, I am concluding that the mustache guy is a stunt driver. Cool actually. I agree, he looks a lot like Evel Knievel (hair and outfit). Which could be an inspiration for some really cool MOCs. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I'm trying to count the number of female characters, four.....tennis player looks male close up but the rock guitarist - toss a coin there ? Should have another poll on which figures we like or dislike, etc., ? Quote
Gioppa Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Finally i can have a great Pipe Band in my town, and when i see the viking woman i think is a opera singer dressed for a theater!! Quote
Wardancer Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The hi-res reveals that the aztec's medallion is another lego head. I know why red riding hoods eyes are so big. In the story there is the "'Grandmother, Grandmother, why do you have such big eyes?' 'So I can see you better.'"-part, in which the wolf disguises himself as grandmother. The conclusion therefore is as inescapable as it is moronic: It is not a red riding hood minifigure, but a bad wolf disguised as red riding hood, who has already eaten both the poor grandmother AND the original red riding hood. What a sick twist! Quote
Jargo Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) Thank you grogall! These minifigs are amazing! I like the hippie, the aztec warrior, the nerd and the rockstar! And look, a bride! I'm also digging the tennis player. Doesn't the red riding hood face looks a little weird? Like, too big. No the image of red is too big. Considering she has short legs she looks the same size as regular minifigs in the composite. Hence her face is too big. Also, I love that the computer nerd seems to have sticky tape holding his glasses together in the centre. Edited October 16, 2011 by Brickenhead-town-dweller Quote
Khorne Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Wow, these are awesome! I already really, really liked series 6, but series 7 seems to be even better . Looks like I'll have to spend a lot of money on these bad boys. The real plusses for me here are: AZTEC WARRIOR! Viking woman, Space Marine and Poseidon. Although each and everyone of these figs is a genuine beauty. Can't wait to get my hands on them! Quote
SilentMode Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I'm trying to count the number of female characters, four.....tennis player looks male close up but the rock guitarist - toss a coin there ? I make six females (the guitarist and the rabbit/bunny). Any idea what the "nerd" has in his other hand? It looks like it might be a book/laptop. Quote
dotmike Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I bet TLG has leaked these pictures on purpose to teach us a lesson: "So, you want a sneak peek of what's coming? Fine, here they are, and they're spectacular." 'Oh, and you can't have them for SEVEN WHOLE MONTHS." Aargh! I just hope it doesn't "Osborne effect" series 6... (Certainly won't for me, I like that series almost as much as this one.) Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 WOW. Series 7 is incredible... so many new parts! Some initial thoughts: LOVE the Viking Girl, and can't wait to swap one of those headpieces out onto a bearded viking warrior right away. This is probably my army builder for the set. Anyone notice the red eyes on the black knight?? Wonder what his deal is all about? Love his shield though. Computer nerd looks like he's got the same hair as the new (Red) Robin. Classic space logo on the Space Marine's shoulder. Fig is really cool but he looks very immobile. With that same weapon, he almost looks like he could be a front line soldier for the ADU. REALLY wish we could see the Aztec's shield fully-- could be some amazing printing on there. Triton has Sensei Wu's beard-- another really nice shirtless muscle torso. Tennis player has the Teddy Bear guy's morning hair. Possibly the weakest link of this series for me. The 'stuntman' obviously has the mechanic's hair. Crazy mustache! Bagpiper-- Is that bagpipe instrument one piece? Almost looks like Technic pins on the end of it, but I suppose it's to small to be that. The hippie has arm printing-- can't quite tell what we're looking at there. Very cool-- thanks for the hi-res, Grogall! Quote
Cutty Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) Two things, one interesting the other concerning me: a) Red riding hood's face does indeed seem out of proportion and Brickenhead-Town-Dweller tried to explain that with contortion of perspective due to TLC increasing her in size. I beg to differ, though she is in the foreground, her torso, arms and hands do not actually appear bigger than do the hippie's. I guess TLC DID give her a slightly overproportionate face to fashion it into a scheme of childlike characteristics on purpose. So: overproportionate eyes, big mouth, aso. to inspire a sense of cuteness. This is what keeps most (sane) people off of doing harm to little children and infants: it's genetic. b) Could it be that the space marine does not have a trans-orange visor, but the orange overlay effect is just a faceprint? Even in those HD-pics I can't help but assume as much! Be well all! Cutty edit: random notice: Series 7 features two male figs with handlebar moustaches! Add me some awesomesauce please ^^ Edited October 16, 2011 by Cutty Quote
jonwil Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 How do we know the computer guy is a nerd and not a geek? I cant put my finger on it but the torso on that guy reminds me of someone geeky from some TV show or movie (or some really famous geek, not sure which). Just cant remember who. Quote
Sandy Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 This is definitely another exquisite array of figs. I simply can't wait getting my hands on each of them! I make six females (the guitarist and the rabbit/bunny). The bunny is male (no lipstick or eyelashes). The five females of the series are the Bride, the Valkyrie, the Olympic Swimmer, the Red Riding Hood and the Punk Guitarist. Quote

lifeinplastic Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) It was a real shock to see the picture of all of the Series 7 figures so soon. Quite exciting but if I'm honest I preferred the suspense-building build-up of Series 6 seeing a couple of figures rather than all at once! 1)Geek/Nerd - This guy will fit very well in my town. Great face and hair (I'm wondering if the hair comes in brown?). Not too bothered about the mug but this is one of my favourite of Series 7. We now need a female geek or a librarian in a future series! 2)Bride - I was looking forward to a bride figure but the tiara seems a little large and OTT. The new flower stem is good for figures to hold. She has a stupid face though. A groom needs to follow plus bridesmaids, a vicar and people dressed in wedding attire! 3)Stuntman - I couldn't work out what he was supposed to be at first. The hair is great but again I dislike the face. I don't have any real need for one of these. 4)Viking Lady - I love the angry looking face. I'm not a viking enthusiast but a decent looking figure nonetheless and a female viking fits in well with the Colelctible Minifigure range. 5)Tarzan - I'm disappointed by this. Possibly as we already knew the 'Jungle Boy' was coming but also as there isn't really anything new, I dislike the face and the monkey would have been good had we not already had one with Series 5. with a bit of forward thinking from the Lego team, the Series 5 Zookeeper could have had a different animal - like a toucan or penguin. 6)Bunny - This is a great concept. Unforutnately the ears are more of a helmet than for Playboy Bunny customs but it is a kid's toy after all! One of my favourites of Series 7, except the face. 7)Swimmer - Possibly my favourite of the whole Series 7 figs. Great face and the medal is a nice touch - I am guessing a silver and bronze medal will be made for future lines (Javelin thrower/Cyclist/Speed Skater??). Only drawback is the torso appears black around the shoulders when it should be yellow. I'm hoping there will be a male version of the swimmer in a future Series. 8)Tennis - I'm pleased with this, (except for the face). The Series 3 tennis lady now has an opponent! Good hair and decent outfit though I cannot see if he is wearing shorts or trousers (shorts would be preferable). I like the fact that Lego give us more than one character for each sport. Hopefully plenty more Sports figures in future lines (cricket, table tennis, field hockey, more football, skiing) 9)Guitar Girl - The Lego City Orchestra certainly has a strange and limited selection of instruments! I would have preferred a different musician, either classical/marching band or just anything but another V-shaped guitar! I hope future lines have a wider range of instruments for rock and pop bands/orchestras, etc. Tubas, Keyboards, Acoustic and Bass guitars, Trombones, Harp... 10)Aztec/Maya - Having been to Mexico I think the Aztec and Mayan cultures are very interesting. A nice figure but doesn't really fit in with anything particularly unless future figures are made. 11)Bagpiper - I really like the figures representing nationalities and there are plenty more which I hope will be made. I would have preferred a typical Scottish Tam-O-Shanter hat but the figure looks good. Bagpipes though don't really help with my City Orchestra wishes either! 12)Space Marine - I'm sure this figure will be very popular with army-builders and sci-fi/space fans. It doesn't really appeal to me though. 13)Hippy - This figure is great and I'm hoping a female couterpart will be made in future with a peace sign visible. Great moustached face too I'm looking forward to some Woodstock MOCs! A shame the flowers are not a new colour. 14)Warlord - I don't see any use for this myself but I'm sure it will please Castle and Fantasy collectors. 15)Red Riding Hood - Nice to see Lego making this. The face is great for a child and the basket looks neat as well. I'm trying to think of other fairytale characters which could be made. 16)Neptune/Poseidon - This looks like a decent figure and will appeal to Atlantis collectors. I'm hoping for some more characters from mythology in future. Favourite face: Viking/Swimmer or Hippy Favoutie hair/headgear: Geek/Tennis Player Favoutie torso: Geek/Tennis Player Favourite accessory: Basket Favoutie concept: Bunny Figure Edited October 16, 2011 by lifeinplastic Quote
Ogre Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Knowing TLG though, they may just call him "Computer Programmer" :) I'd love to see them push the envelope and call him "Office Drone". Quote
mobricki Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 This is amazing and made me very happy!! I love the new designs and the bagpiper is going to be a must for my British army. Quote
brickmack Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Kinda disappointing that the visor for the space marine is printed on the face. Perhaps there might be a doublesided head though, and the other side is the face with no visor? Unlikely though... Still, I'll probably get about 30 of those. Also at least 5 or six knights, 2 or 3 bagpipers, a few hippies (I hope LEGO makes some more hippy-type figs, at least 1 geek, and Poseidon. Quote
Niku Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I think the space marine face is printed orange otherway the detail on its eye would not seem so clear, and the hippie has yellow spots on his left arm. Thanks for HR pics grogall Quote
LandShark Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) I make six females (the guitarist and the rabbit/bunny). Any idea what the "nerd" has in his other hand? It looks like it might be a book/laptop. I count 5 (the Rabbit-suit looks male to me, no eyelashes). I'm pretty sure the 'nerd' is holding a silver/grey laptop, although it could be a book, but that seems unlikely judging by the computery-ness of the mug. EDIT: Whoops, that comment was on the second most recent page, I thought I was the first to answer. Edited October 16, 2011 by LandShark Quote
