Bioniclover Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Wrong topic... Edited October 31, 2011 by Bioniclover
The Legonater Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 "Most peculiar, Skrall, do you have any ideas about what to make from this?" I realise I am not Skrall, but it would seem to me that our suspects found something- like an animal perhaps- made a fuss capturing it, then turned around and headed back, animal in tow.
Waterbrick Down Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 "It seems we're missin' something, perhaps we're just not looking at this from the right perspective. Althior or Bob, can one you do some diggin' in the middle of that clearin'. I'll look around to see if any birds or such happened to have seen what was goin' on here." Skrall looks for any birds or squirrels to make conversation with.
K-Nut Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 "I'm not digging! I am not taking a chance to be hit by some dead guy again!" "Stop your whining, I'll keep watch." "Fine" Althior digs.
Waterbrick Down Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Skrall jokingly calls out to Althior, "Look out mage! It's an undead bird watcher goin' on a head bashin' spree!" Edited October 31, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
K-Nut Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Skrall jokingly calls out to Althior, "Look out mage! It's an undead bird watcher goin' on a head bashin' spree!" Althior jumps in the half dug whole that he dug, yelling something about a happy place. "Wuss"
Quarryman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Namyrra is somewhat amused about how a rather powerful mage like Althior can be such a big wuss.
K-Nut Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Namyrra is somewhat amused about how a rather powerful mage like Althior can be such a big wuss. "Hey! You've never been whacked by a dead woman who at first you thought was a guy!" "Neither were you, sir. You were hit by her stick." "Hardee Har Har! Nobody likes a smartass!" "Apparently Brickdoctor does." "Who?" "Sorry, fourth wall."
Masked Builder Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Skrall looks for any birds or squirrels to make conversation with. Skrall sees a sparrow and goes over to talk to her. "They took her. They took her." is all Skrall can get out of the poor bird. "Fine" Althior digs. Althior digs in several places in the clearing, in one he finds a key, and in another, he disrupts a snake and jumps out of the hole, scared out of his wits, before it can bit him.
Quarryman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 "Aha! I wouldn't be surprised if that key you just dug up Althior fits that chest we found earlier (though this does seem eerily convenient, damn narrativium making our quest easier ). I think we should go back to the clearing with the chest and see if the key fits, but not until Skrall has finished talking to that sparrow."
Waterbrick Down Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) Skrall shakes his head at Althior, "That mage screams as bad as my little Irksall and she's only 4." Attending to the frightened sparrow, Skrall relay's the message to the rest of the party. "Well apparently the bird saw somethin' or someone bein' taken from here presumably by our trespassers, seems you were right Dyric. Let's head back to the our mysterious treasure chest and see if that key of Althior's will open it." Edited November 1, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Masked Builder Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 The party goes back to the clearing where they found the chest. Althior tries the key in the lock and it opens the lock! But once he opens the lock another shimmers into view. It appears that the party needs another key to open the chest. What will the party do now?
Quarryman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 "Damn it! Cursed be those who protect their stuff with double locks! Oh well, I guess it's back to the clearing where we fought that triple-damned Dementor and take the right path this time?"
Waterbrick Down Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 "Aye back to the right hand path, and this time I'm taking the chest with me." Skrall bends over and slings the trunk over his back.
Quarryman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 "Good thinking Skrall, heading back here yet again would suck, and a big, strong ogre like you surely won't have any trouble carrying that tiny chest. Or you could just drop it at that Finnegan fellow, it's not like he's doing anything useful."
Masked Builder Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 The party heads back to the clearing where they ran into the dementor, but they take the right path this time and come to an intersection. Footprints go down both the left and right paths. Which way does the party go?
Quarryman Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 "Right, the footprints split, guess it's time for Althior to dig out his compass again?"
K-Nut Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 "Or you could just drop it at that Finnegan fellow, it's not like he's doing anything useful." " I do talk some sense into Althior, you think he'd dig without me watching out for any harm?" "Well you are a pretty lousy watchman. And snakes! Why'd it have to be snakes?" "Right, the footprints split, guess it's time for Althior to dig out his compass again?" "Dig?" Althior digs gingerly takes out his compass and uses it.
Masked Builder Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Althior's compass needle goes back and forth between both paths.
K-Nut Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Althior's compass needle goes back and forth between both paths. "This probably means that both paths are fine, so left will do no harm."
Waterbrick Down Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 "Or someone's generating two opposing magnetic fields with fluxes parallel to each other at such a distance that the sum of the partial fields yields a straight line bisecting the connecting line. Or it's as good at pointin' in the correct direction as you are at hittin' somethin' in battle Althior." Skrall heckled the mage innocently while leading the party down the left hand path.
The Legonater Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I follow, humming songs from my distant country as we walk.
Masked Builder Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 The party heads down the left path and comes to a clearing where there's nothing for a minute but some men hope out of the trees and confront the party. The Legonater Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I gaze at the whip, smiling broadly. It's no throwing knife, but it'll do for now. I target the Bandit Leader (Whip) from the Front Row with my Longsword.
K-Nut Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 "Let's 'ope you don't 'ave to scream like my lil' Irksall again! That might put 'em to a painful death alone!" Skrall heckled further, laughing. He'd had it. Althior was sick of the Ogre heckling him. He screamed in fury as he sent a darkness spell hurdling at the Bandit leader from the front row. OOC: Character Development!
