soccerkid6 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I suppose you can always try your compass Atramor, and I wouldn't mind going to the glassblowers.
CMP Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I suppose you can always try your compass Atramor, and I wouldn't mind going to the glassblowers. "Try, yes...Glassblower's works, maybe we can question that were...thing further." The party sets off for Glassblower's.
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 This is getting tedious, if that werehound has no info for us, then we've been going in a circle and wasting our time.
Jedi master Brick Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Elgar stops walking too and states he agrees with William
Waterbrick Down Posted November 5, 2011 Author Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) With their search thus far unfruitful, the party heads off once more to the werehound glass blowing shop. As they enter they are greeted by Gillian, Rillian nods from his corner at the bellows, and Dillian merely hmmph's. "Good evening to you gentlemen, quite a storm we've got brewing up out there haven't we? Have you found your litte white capped friend yet?" Edited November 5, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Rumble Strike Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Tarn shook his head. "We haven't found Julian yet. We were hoping you fine folk might remember more details - like what this magic turban did and where he might go once he had it?"
soccerkid6 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) I would also like you to put a hollow blade on my sword. Here is your 50 gold. You wouldn't happen to give me a discount for helping to take care of those werewolves would you? Edited November 6, 2011 by soccerkid6
CMP Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 While the rest of the party does their business, Atramor hangs back, flipping through the Maladies of the Brick book, looking up the Gray Plague.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) Tarn shook his head. "We haven't found Julian yet. We were hoping you fine folk might remember more details - like what this magic turban did and where he might go once he had it?" "Oh so his turban was magical was it? Could have fooled me, but he did seem to value it highly. Yelled at us for getting a spot of soot on it. As to where he was headin' next, that I do not know." While the rest of the party does their business, Atramor hangs back, flipping through the Maladies of the Brick book, looking up the Gray Plague. Atramor opens up the ancient tome and reads up on the section of the Gray Plague. It is mostly factual about the symptoms of the fatal disease and archaic cures and preventatives. An aged sheaf of script folded in two, falls from the back of the book. Atramor observes that the sheet seems to be from an individuals journal. ...it is of my opinion that the infection is spread through the atmosphere and mainly absorbed through the outer flesh layer. The disease is most peculiar in that I have found it also effects the stone work of the city, changing the bright buttresses, towers, and keeps from their majestic sheen of polished stone to a flat drab dull gray, inducing a mood of melancholy and despair among all the inhabitants. In terms of actual effect upon the citizenry, it progresses in a much more different manner. Starting from the feet up, the infected individual's pallor is slowly conformed to a sickly pale pink while the individual grows further and further stiff until he is unable to move his feet, knees, or elbows at all, finally the victim becomes a literal "stiff" within a matter of hours from the initial symptoms. It is hard to believe how this all started so long ago. My attempts at synthesizing a cure for the common veeshel had gone almost without incident, the Gnomish Fractionation Columns were working at maximum efficiency, I had been able to procure a steady supply of Hippocamp tears, the price of which would almost would make you think it was some controlled substance or another. However, that was nothing compared to the bottle upon bottle of obsidian essence I had to repeatedly buy due to failed attempts. The most amazing part of all, was that the ruby's crystallographic structure had finally conformed to the proper dimensional parameters in order to allow the transmittance of the light to transmute the black amalgamation to that of my greatest hope. Tragically and beyond my understanding however, the first administering of this test sample yielded the above results and somehow the pathogen created, has continued to spread. The fires outside the city are growing higher and higher as the pinkish smoke of the corpses rises, staining the sky with its malevolence. Erdrith is gone, the plague took her 3 weeks back and life barely seems livable any more knowing that I ultimately was the cause of her death. I must get to bed, already my arm feels stiff, it must be from all of this writi..." Edited November 6, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Good God! I think we're collecting ingredients of the Gray Plague! Unless the Guild are looking for a cure for the common veeshel.
CMP Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 "Indeed...we must return to the Guild at once to see who this customer is." Atramor slams the book shut, immediately heading off towards the Guild of Invision again.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 On their way out the door, the party runs into the ever frowning Ratabor Mossycloak. "Ah my friends, I've the most wondrous news, I've been hired by the Guild of Invision, or rather contracted out to them. They're going to do alchemical tests on my tears and see if they can develop a new potent potion with them and they're paying me in Gold to provide them with a steady supply of samples. I was also asked by one of the chaps working in their laboratory to give you this, should I run into you again." Heroes of Heroica, Having met this gentleman who bears this note and hearing from him your exploits, I must say I am most appreciative. However two urgent matters have arisen and both relate to your search for Julian. My sponsor is desperately in need of the items I sent you after and if he doesn't get them quick, he'll have my head. Secondly and of even more importance, I believe that Julian's life may now be in danger. Just this afternoon a note was discovered pinned to the guild house's door demanding a ransom. Unfortunately there are no other clues on whom could have sent the message. Please hurry in your investigation. Sincerely, Dr. Guillaume Mynatt What will the Party do?
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 We're heroes, not politicians, I say we keep on going to the Guildhouse and look at the note and ask the Doc some questions.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) The Party return to the Invision Guild House, by the now the rain is beginning to come down at a steady rate. Knocking on the guild house door they are surprised to see it answered by Dr. Mynatt who hustles them into the foyer. "Now, what is ze problem, have zu found Julian? Did you get my message from zat cleric?" Edited November 6, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Answers. Now. Who hired you for those ingredients?
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 "Hwat is zis? I requested your help because my assistant was missing and now may be possibly in danger and you are asking about my business interests! My sponser has requested to remain anonymous and if zat is not enough for you zan I shall have to look else where for help, but be it known zat ze boy's blood may be on your handz."
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 "Hwat is zis? That may be, but on our search for young Julian, we have reason to believe your employer is trying to recreate the Gray Plague!!!!
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 "Of course zey are. Do I look like an ignorant barbarian to you? Why else would I need Gnomish Fractionation Columns, ze Snow Ruby of Halvetia, and all ze ozer items Julian was to collect?"
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 "Of course zey are. Do I look like an ignorant barbarian to you? Why else would I need Gnomish Fractionation Columns, ze Snow Ruby of Halvetia, and all ze ozer items Julian was to collect?" Why would they want to recreate a plague which can kill a lot of people? And no, you look like a respectable Doctor.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 "Kill a lot of people? My dear ranger you've admitted yourself zat I look like a respectable doctor, my interests are purely scientific based. Ze sample of ze plague is merely for an enzusiastic collector, it will be rendered harmless through our alchemical ingenuity."
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Hmm, one last thing, is there by any chance that the "collector" is a werehound?
Waterbrick Down Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 "If you're referring to ze diminutive cousins of ze werewolves that run ze local glass shop, then no. Now if zere are no more useless questions, Julian's life may still be at stake."
Jedi master Brick Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Elgar looked round, a plague, he quietly spoke to the group saying "A plague, I do not want to be responsible for killing millions of people. I say find his employer and stop him"
soccerkid6 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Well personally I have a feeling that the two are tied together. However what to do about either is a little more difficult question. We have found out the Julian was seen at three of the five shops and bought a turban. But that was a week ago.
CMP Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 "Look, beardie. Don't you think it's at all likely your 'customers' have Julian, and are using him to get the rest of the ingredients?" Atramor looks up to the sun to check the time. "Could be the Bloodpaws, I suppose..."
