Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 "Sirs," began Tarn, politely, "we were sent by Heroica to find this boy, as the Guild he works for told us he is missing. We followed his trail here. What business does your order have with such a young person?"
Waterbrick Down Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 "Sirs," began Tarn, politely, "we were sent by Heroica to find this boy, as the Guild he works for told us he is missing. We followed his trail here. What business does your order have with such a young person?" "By Guild, I take it thou meanst the villains who masquerade themselves as alchemical tyrants. My men have been following thine every move, we know that thou dost also seek that which shall bring upon this land death and destruction. This boy has acted in league with the blaggards, he is as guilty as they and shall thus be brought to justice. If you've any wish to cleanse thy own hands in this matter, then impart to us the rest of the objects thy quest hath yielded."

This boy has acted in league with the blaggards, he is as guilty as they and shall thus be brought to justice. If you've any wish to cleanse thy own hands in this matter, then impart to us the rest of the objects thy quest hath yielded." "....Really? You expect us to hand over this stuff, when in reality, the plague isn't able to be created with only half the items? Maybe we should just destroy the stuff. Right here."
Waterbrick Down Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 "We have ensured within our possession the items the boy carried with him, surely thou must see that for thee to turn over such items to the Guild of Invision would release upon this land a suffering more painful than it already has seen."
Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 "We seek the boy, not the impending doom. He is young and does not know what has been asked of him." Tarn then whispers to the others, "I think these guys are thinking the same as us, as we both distrust the Guild... but can we trust them?"
CMP Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 "You're not seeing the point. We can't take your word for it YOU won't spread a plague. You already have facemasks and such. Why not just destroy the items?" It killed Atramor to even suggest this. But the loss of a few coins was more than worth saving a country from a plague.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 "And what dost thou think we are trying to do, ignorant rogue. Now be quick, hand us the objects that we may be rid of them. The order of the Crimson Crown does not take lightly such mistrust or impertinence."
Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Tarn looked at Atramor and shook his head. They couldn't risk trusting this Order of the Crimson Crown and the only way to guarantee that the plague would not be reborn was to stop anyone having all of the ingredients.
CMP Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 "Tell you what. Give us the kid. You keep your ingedients, we keep ours. Neither of us can make the plague without the rest of the ingredients, so there shouldn't be any problem...unless you are making the plague."
Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Tarn tried to smooth over the Rogue's rough words. "My friend here speaks wise words. What he proposes is a fair and equitable solution for all concerned. I would implore you fine gentlemen of the Order to studiously consider his offer."
Waterbrick Down Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 "Thou art a fool, can thou not see that thou holdest the very key to the plague's survival. That tome thou carrys is the last of it's kind, thou may have the boy and his items but give us the manuscript, we shall ensure that none other shall ever see the contents of its pages, there is none more worthy than the Order of the Crimson Crown."
Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Tarn follows up Atramor's earlier suggestion... "Why don't we burn the book? That'll end it here."
soccerkid6 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Yes let us burn it. Then we can be sure it will not be used for evil purposes. I don't see why we can't destroy the items right here with you; unless you are trying to make the plague. If you don't want to burn the whole book we can just burn the pages with the stuff about the plague on it. We don't want the plague any more than you do, and we don't trust the Guild with the ingredients. I say using my skill of diplomacy Edited November 8, 2011 by soccerkid6
CMP Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Atamor glances at his Questmates. "Yeah. No. I don't think so. We're not basically handing over everything you need to manufacture a country-wide plague. Not gonna happen. I'm all for burning it." Edited November 8, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie

Tarn Valco Atramor Gibbin William Harkenshire Elgar Gligin Sir Glorfindel Atramor strikes at the Turbaned Warrior (Sword B) from the front row. "Tarn, you're best off with the Leader. And the thing is, I have a higher power than the Rangers, so I'd rather take out this swordsman so he doesn't have a chance to heal." Edited November 8, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie
Rumble Strike Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Tarn shook his head with a stern frown as he heard the Order dismissing their arguments and suggestions to destroy all that they had collected so far. He was no Knight, but he thought he had spoken eloquently, at least for a Barbarian. He was very glad that his Questmates thought the same as him regarding the ingredients. He knew that they were a united force, and they would not go meekly against the Order. Tarn used the glass-blowers hollow blade technology inside his battle axe, and consumed his bottle of Mead. Fire blazing in his eyes, he fearlessly squared up to the Order's Turbaned Leader, the biggest and baddest of the enemies they faced, attacking him from the front row. Waterbrick Down Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 Results of Round One of the Crimson Crown Catacomb Combat: >Tarn Valco vs. Turbaned Leader - Uses Mead & Hit >Atramor Gibbin vs. Turbaned Warrior (Sword) B - Shield >William Harkenshire vs. Turbaned Warrior (Hand Cannon) A - Shield >Elgar Gligin vs Turbaned Warrior (Sword) A - Critical Hit >Sir Glorfindel vs. Turbaned Warrior (Hand Cannon) B - Uses Nostrum Special Damage/Hit The battle begins with Tarn quickly consuming his bottle of Mead filling his limbs with vitality and ferocity. With his new found energy, the barbarian bats the hooded leader's cutlass away like a fly before neatly separating his head from his shoulders. Meanwhile Atramor dodging quickly around the Turbaned warrior's defenses slips his glass dagger between the swordsman's ribs ending his life, the rogue retreats back to his Party with the 14 Gold from the soldier's purse. William now quite experienced with making quick work of his enemies, rapidly fires off three shots in the blink of an eye wounding each of the three remaining combatants. Elgar, more attuned to quality over quantity, lets loose a tremendous shot striking the last sword bearing warrior straight through the heart. Elsewhere, one of the hand cannoneers fires off an explosive shot at the charging Sir Glorindel at point blank range. As luck would have it, Sir Glorfndel foresees the coming shot, rolls (quite a sight for a knight in full armor), and swiftly brings the finishing blow down upon the gunner. Rumble Strike Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Feeling the rush of the mead slowly leave him after the fight, Tarn said almost regretfully, "They should have listened to us. Why didn't they listen?" He checks that the boy is OK. He crouches down, eyes level with the tearstained face, and speaks softly. "Hey there, what's your name? Are you OK?"
