Fred Daniel Yam Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Isn't there a law in Eubric about disturbing the peace? Being a Ranger, all of William's possessions were special. He pushed a button and a dart flew out the end of his pipe, hitting Glorfindel and made him vomit on the ground.
Jedi master Brick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Thank you for the loot, yes we must keep moving. The battle has increased our power so lets move
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) The party comes to the used bookstore Shrooft's Scripts and Tomes. Entering the shop, they are greeted by the Metasimian owner Shrooft. "Good day to you gentlemen, what can I do for you?" How will the Party answer? Edited October 27, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Jedi master Brick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Elgar said "We are members of Heroica working for the guild of invision".
Fred Daniel Yam Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Kid named Julian. Blue tunic, brown hair and a satchel. Guild of Invision. Signor Brickough's Maladies of the Brick. Kapeesh? And do you know a Metamesimian named Byblos? Edited October 27, 2011 by volcanicpanik
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 The metasimian blinks at the party. "Know Byblos? What metasimian worth his bunch of bananas doesn't know that great scholar?" The book seller smiles, "I'm assuming you must be from Heroica Hall. Now what's this business about the Guild of Invision? I'm afraid I don't do much business with them, but if you are looking for a book, I can assure you I have at least half a dozen copies of it on hand, everything from classics to those books which were banned during the early founding of Eubric. I have from signed first additions steeped in their author's own blood, worn paperbacks perfect readers on the go, scripts so tiny that only fairies can read them, and tomes so big each gilded letter is as big as my head. I have books that cost a dime to a dozen, and books that even that only a Hinckwell could buy. So how can I best serve you?"
soccerkid6 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 We would like to buy Signor Brickoughs “Maladies of the Brick” you can just put it on the Invision Guild's tab. Hopefully their credit is better here then at the apothecary, I whisper
CMP Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "We're also looking for a young Invisionist by the name of Julian. Short, blue tunic, brown hair. Anyone like that come by recently?"
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 "No I'm afraid I haven't had a lad by that name in here lately, I had someone fitting his description about a week ago, but he was only a short potbellied orc looking for a cookbook for his wife. Bah, the nerve of that fellow, pawing at my precious stock with his greasy sausage fingers, it makes my blood boil." The metasimian turns to a small filing cabinet and looks through it, "Brickal, Brickeling, Ah Ha! Brickough! Here we are." The metasimian presents a small card, "My, my, my. Signor Brickough's "Maladies of the Brick" a very rare book indeed, you fellows must have some very strange tastes. That book was banned during the onset of the "Gray Plague" many years back, some even say that that fellow Brickough may have even had something to do with the initial outbreak. But those were probably just rumors spread around by his competitors. You'll find the text in my backroom, black hard cover, leather bound" the metasimian nods his head toward the curtain, indicating the direction of his storeroom. "I keep most of my older and more valuable stock and such, in there. It's a small cave that makes for a natural store room, dry, warm, free from the eyes of the Eubricean censorship authorities. It used to serve as an entrance to the catacombs running underneath the city, but I had it boarded up years ago, it was getting just too damp to store my precious books." The metasimian leads the Party behind the curtain to the store room. Boxes, barrels, shelves, and chests filled with books, scrolls, and all manner of texts litter the entire room. "Well, I'm sorry it's a mess boys, I've been meaning to clean it, but you know how it goes running a shop all by yourself. I'd help you look for the book, but I ain't got the slightest idea where it's hiding. All I know is the catalog says we've got one copy and it's stored somewhere back here. Let me know if you find it and I'll ring you up at the front." With that, the shop owner leaves the Party in the flickering candlelight. Party, please descriptively state the exact locations you'd like to check in bold, one at a time.
CMP Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Atramor gawped at the mess. He'd seen the grittiest, scurviest pirates' storerooms more organized than this. McCafferey flapped over to the top of the bookshelf. Her owner merely sighed, and proceeded to examine the blue and white books. Edited October 27, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie
Fred Daniel Yam Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 If I may, Atramor I wish to open the chest in front of the barrels
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Atramor wades through the scraps of paper and parchment that litter the floor like freshly fallen snow. While his inspection of the bookshelves fails to yield the desired item, he does discover a hidden stash of 1 Potion and 10 Gold. William's attempt to open the chest appears futile as it appears to be locked. Party Leader, how will the spoils be divided? 10 Gold Potion x1 – Restores 10 health to the target.
Jedi master Brick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 2 gold each? I would like to search the barrels behind the chest
CMP Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) "I think it's William's turn for something, so I'll give him the potion and 2 gold, along with everybody else." Atramor uses his badass Rogue lockpicking skills on the chest. Edited October 27, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Atramor attempts to pick the lock, however his lockpicking tools find no mechanism to unlock within the keyhole. QM Note: Jedi Master Brick, which barrel? They are distinctly marked. Edited October 27, 2011 by Waterbrick Down
Jedi master Brick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Atramor attempts to pick the lock, however his lockpicking tools find no mechanism to unlock within the keyhole. QM Note: Jedi Master Brick, which barrel? They are distinctly marked. The gold barrel
soccerkid6 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I will try looking in the crate with the yellow top.
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Elgar examines the gold topped barrel, but only discovers discarded bottles of ink.
CMP Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "Damn." Atramor searches the silver-studded crate.
Jedi master Brick Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Ok I would like to try the silver topped barrel
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 Glorfindel's search of the gold studded crate yields a Grand Potion. Grand Potion x1 – Restores 25 health to the target. Meanwhile, Atramor investigates the silver studded crate but finds that it appears to be nailed shut. Elgar however looks through the silver studded barrel and finds another 10 Gold and 1 key. 10 Gold Party Leader, how will the spoils be divided?
CMP Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Atramor hands 2 gold to everybody, and the Grand Potion to Tarn, and then uses the key on the chest.
Waterbrick Down Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 After dividing the loot, Atramor walks over to the chest and inserts the key. The chest accordingly eats the key, much to the rogue's surprise. A rustling is heard among the sheaves of paper as the silver studded crate and the overturned tub begin to advance on the party revealing gaping mouths filled with teeth. A bat swoops down out of nowhere and is joined by a grey rat. The chest opens wide it's gaping jaws and prepares to attack the party. PREPARE FOR BATTLE!
