May 9, 201311 yr Wow, lots of great posts here. Wonderful to see your non-lego work, Polywen. Pigbrick, your first picture especially is phenomenal. Anticyclone, great sculpture, very creative, I really like the paintwork, which brings her to life. def, you make me miss yukimatsuri! The more washed-out palette suits your style better, although I think the Coke can should be brighter. Nice line-work on the last piece. I did not know about Osamu's Buddha, is it good? It sounds very interesting.
May 13, 201311 yr Forgot about this thread! I'll throw in a handful of recent stuff: Trains! Space! Anime! (bonus points if you know the characters!) And a little older painting from reference: ... til next time!
May 18, 201311 yr Awesome vehicles, Commander Wolf! I especially like how the spaceships look aquatic. Now for my fellow Eurobrick members, I would like to share with you my art project: a poster depicting as many dinosaurs as possible (including other Mesozoic-Era creatures). Here is a preview: The colors are not final. I will change the Pachycephalosaurus and Ceratosaurus. And more creatures will be added throughout the course of my campaign. I follow this forum everyday (a quiet lurker) and know that some of you guys like dinosaurs, so I thought you might be interested in my project. It is currently on Kickstarter. As of right now, I admit my project needs a lot of awareness, but I don't want to spam strangers. I want to reach to those who would enjoy a fun poster. If you are interested in pledging, please leave a message telling me you are from Eurobricks. I will sneak in an extra poster for you. My Kickstarter page is here. And if you want to see a tiny fraction of my LEGO collection, you will see it in my Kickstarter video. I didn't realize until I edited it into my video Let's see if you guys can identify them!
May 27, 201311 yr It's time to join the party! After 13 long years I'm back to my original hobby which is drawing (hard to believe it's been that long since I drew ). I'm no professional artist by any means, this is just a favorite pastime of mine since I was a little kid. My favorite drawing medium is pencil, since it allows for easy corrections and I find the different shading effect useful. Sometimes I do ink, and I suck at coloring so most of my drawings are greyscale. I have many drawings way back, I would've wanted to post them here but sadly it's gone missing in my parents' house in the province. So I started anew, and here is my first drawing, which I'm planning to do a series of: Eurobricks Admin Overlords by KielDaMan (devianART) Hope you liked it! More to come!
May 29, 201311 yr Wow, I haven't posted my own stuff for a while, huh? I guess I haven't done much stuff all year... Silly Artist Training Ground sketch for Equestria Daily. It's more weird than funny, but when inspiration calls, sometimes you just have to follow it into a dark alley and pray you still have your valuables when you come out! Or something. I guess that was probably another case of "more weird than funny". Moving on... This one was gift art for Andrew Francis, who celebrated a birthday yesterday. In the brony community there's a strong tradition of creating gift art for birthdays of the cast and crew, and I figured I'd take part this time. Andrew Francis voiced Jaller in BIONICLE: Mask of Light (which is having its ten-year anniversary this year!) and Twilight Sparkle's brother Shining Armor in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Since they're both the Captain of the Guard (the Ta-Koro Guard and the Equestria Royal Guard, respectively) I thought the coincidence was too funny not to celebrate. On a side note, this is technically the first drawing I've done that made Equestria Daily's Drawfriend (although I don't think birthday art compilations face the same strict scrutiny as the typical daily drawfriends). Since that last one was my most successful attempt ever at coloring a drawing with colored pencil, I have two other drawings I hope to color in the next few weeks. One is birthday art for a friend, one is fanart of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, and both are ponies. Gosh, even if I'm not nearly as productive artistically as I was in my teenage years, I'm happy that My Little Pony has been such a reliable source of inspiration lately. September 7, 201311 yr Author I haven't updated my stuff in a long while, since, to be honest, this isn't the best site to do it in. But, since I last posted, here are some highlights.... My mini-comics cover: My new business card: A selection from my ongoing diaries (about 40 strips done since the last post I did here): My 'art' comics from this summer: A page from last week: So much stuff going on. Too much is better than not enough.
October 30, 201311 yr I recently drew Jay and Nya from LEGO Ninjago. These are the first drawings of mine to get beyond the doodle stage in several months. Might draw the other Ninja if I can come up with some interesting poses for them. In the meantime, I've already started coloring these two. Edited October 30, 201311 yr by Aanchir
December 26, 201311 yr Author The year has been very busy. I finished it with these: There was a lot more since I last posted here, but these are ones that I'm most happy with.
