Captain Fortune Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) If Captain Roger would fight against the most powerful ship his enemies ever had (Imperial Flagship), the only Vessel that would give him any chance is the Skull's Eye Schooner. The SES is the only ship capable to confront the IFS: It has crew and cannons enough to, at least, equalize the battle. With a boarding operation, SES can get the victory because has 9 armed men, against only Flagship's 6 soldiers. In addition, SES is lighter than IFS, so the Pirates could make more maneuvers, but it is also big enough to resist the enemy cannon fire and not sink after the first shots. And an other important point: The SES has two triangular sails, wich allows it to sail against the wind, wich is not the case of BSB, RBB, etc. Despiste the other vessels are really good, they could not resist neither a boarding battle, nor a cannon duel against the IFS, because of his lack of weapons, speed and maneuver. Hiawatha Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I agree with that, she would bring a good fight to the Imperial Flagship. The battle would be pretty close. Quote
Piranha Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I change my opinion to the unreleased POTC Flying Dutchman which was rumored to have over 2500 parts. Quote
Duck Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I think too think that the Skulls Eye Schooner would be the best option for a like for like firing of broadsides. However, though it probably wouldnt be able to completely sink or force a surrender, I think that the Renegade Runner might be able to cause significant damage to the IFS and put her out of action for a while due to repairs. She would surely be able to swiftly manouver and get a few shots away at the IFS's stern or bows before the IFS is able to turn her guns to face the RR. Even facing a full broadside, the IFS guns are rather fixed (I think) and so aiming at a small target would be difficult. In short, the SES would be the most likely to come out victorious, but the RR might be able to do a fair bit of damage before being hit Quote
