Darkblane Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) Knight of the Silver Chalice Costs Other than standard LEGO parts, I used some paint, modelling putty and varnish. The cost of the amount I actually used was probably about £2 - £4. Inspiration I wanted to customize a helmet and add some kind of ornate decoration to the top of it. A cup (or chalice) seemed a like a good idea and that developed into the creation of the silver chalice and the custom wall hanging (see in the background of the vignette). I also wanted to do a vignette which wasn't an outdoor jousting scene, so chose to create a small chapel scene where my jousting champion has knelt to pray before the joust. Background Story Sir Sanguinius, Knight of the Silver Chalice, knelt before the Silver Chalice of his Order and prayed. He could here the sounds of the archery contest outside and knew the joust would be starting shortly. As he prayed, he felt the divine light surround him and knew that today he would be victorious. A knight blessed by the divine light would earn the right to carry the Silver Chalice with them as they rode and legend stated that any knight carrying the Silver Chalice would be unstoppable. Thrash Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Great job with the custom flag and helmet! The ornate chalice on his head fits perfectly for a tournament champion. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I've just found this forum after years and it surprise me! I love this beautiful scene, its great window and the knight with that incredible flag! Perfect colors for this MOC! Quote
Aether Fox Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I like how you extended the flag! It's a great addition to the knight! Quote
Praiter Yed Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 A really nice entry, the helmet looks great! I really like your vignette too - good idea to go for an alternative to a joust scene. Quote
LuxorV Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Rules check: everything is fine. Good luck! Quote
