Hun Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Dear All, I've been reading this forum for months now, and the time's come to say hello. I came out of my dark ages about 2 years ago when I saw the first series of the Tiny Turbo sets and I said to myself, "wow, the two favourirte toys of my childhood combined: Lego and Matchbox." Otherwise, I always considered myself a castle person - one with almost no castle sets whatosever. :-D Then the Viking line made an old dream come true, so I bought'em all and now I'm working on my first larger MOC, a modified and expanded 7019 fortress. Should take another few months to complete... :-) In the real world, I'm 32, work in training/adult education, drink beer, listen to New Model Army - and my little son is just turning 2. Hope you don't mind my joining in all the fun. ;-) Quote
DoubleT Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 You are very Welcome :-) Where on the little planet are you from? Quote
Hun Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 You are very Welcome :-) Where on the little planet are you from? Hi and thanks! I live in a little town just north of Budapest, Hungary. Just added a few infos to my profile to make me even less anonymous... :-) Quote
KimT Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Welcome Hun. Great to have yet another AFOL enter the boards :-) I've been to Hungary on several occasions myself and I must say that I envy You the Balaton Lake and Budapest (to me the prettiest Capitol of Europe). One thing though, I've never been able to track down any LEGO stores there. Where do You buy Your LEGO? KimT Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Welcom Hun to our friendly boards ;-) Hehe, your son should be thankfull that he made you coming out of youre dark ages (or vice versa :-P ). Its great that you both share the same fun hobby ;-) Enjoy your time with us and see you around ;-) *yoda* Quote
Hun Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 xwingyoda: Friendly, indeed! 3 welcome messages in 20 minutes are pretty nice to receive. :-) kimt: I'm glad that you liked our little country. I moved out of the capital about 3 years ago to be able to afford a garden, but I commute there every day. We don't have Brand Stores here, and no S@H either. You can buy Lego in several places: toy stores and these big retail markets, but they're expensive. My main source is an AFOL who runs an online Lego store. He has the best prices in Hungary and can get you almost anything. (Some of you might know him from BL.) Quote
Sir Dillon Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Hello Hun! Welcome. :-) I'm sure you'll make a good edition to our ever-growing community. Plus another Castle fan can't hurt... :-P Quote
Jipay Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Hi and welcome onboard ! Glad you finally decide to join ! :-) May I ask what motivated this decision BTW ? We have hundreds of lurkers and it would be nice if they could all join like you did ! :-) Quote
Hobbes Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I live in a little town just north of Budapest, Hungary. Hello and welcome, "neighbor" ;-) Quote
Hun Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Sir Dillon, Hobbes: thanks and hello there, too. :-) jipay: I joined the forum because I feel that I'm beginning to be able to contribute. My MOC is slowly taking shape. As I buy more & more Lego I'm developing my opinion on sets and product lines. I've found inspiration in others' creations so I'll give my opinion on them in return. I've been a member of the Hungarian AFOL club MALUG for a while, but hey, let's go international! :-D And why Eurobricks? I think these are very lively boards with lots of interesting opinions that go way beyond the usual "cool" or "sucks". Also one of the quickest when it comes to product news. ;-) Quote
Jipay Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Talking baout news, our frontpage made it once more. I also must correct you, we are not "one of the quickest", we are the quickest :-D Quote
Hun Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 I also must correct you, we are not "one of the quickest", we are the quickest :-D I stand corrected. :-D :-D :-D Quote

Hun Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Welcome Hun! I love your name BTW, it's just very cool and seemingly original ;-). See you around the boards. Thanx! Do you like the name as in Attila the Hun (Mr. and Mrs., of course, for the Python lovers), or "Thank you, hun', that steak was delicious!"? :-D Quote
Zarkan Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Man, new members are getting really creative with user names these days! X-D Welcome aboard, Hun! I'm sure you'll find this board to be the best general lego board on the web! ;-) Quote
