Posted October 31, 201113 yr Hey! I was wondering if is was best to use 1 or 2 PFS - XL for a 6X6 Tatra's traction? The picture below is the front end based on the 8466 Off-road truck! There is still a lot of work to do! I've encountered many problems when testing it! NB: I want to do the version with 4 steering wheel in front! Pictures Edited October 31, 201113 yr by snowman007_22

October 31, 201113 yr I have some experience with 6x6 Tatra's and with 2 XL motors they run great. You can see them over at my YouTube I also have some instructions at my website. Good luck building. P.s. From your pictures your suspension is not a swinging half axles suspension- Tatra suspension, but a double wishbone suspension. If you need any help feel free to ask .

I had came across your website a couple days back and it was very useful! For the suspension, the axel has to be perpendicular to the wheel? Could I use an universal joint from the chassis axel to the wheel axel? For your Tatra 813 6x6 v3, do you have the instructions for your gear box? Thanks a lot!

November 1, 201113 yr Author Have you seen Sariel's Gears Tutorial? How about Nico71's collection of Trial Trucks (many with Building Instructions)? WOW! Great tutorial on gears!!! Well explained! And great ideas from Nico71! I will do some modification to my design and post some pictures soon!
November 1, 201113 yr hey, feel free to use my design: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483906 it is an 8X8 but the build is very modular, axles are really strong. i won the belgium trucktrial championship with this truck :) just leave the last axle for a 6X6 or stretch the middel of the frame by 7 studs. Has 2 xl's, 2 speed gearbox, tank steering as an extra for better cornering,... or a smaller version with 1 xl and 3 speed gearbox: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476428 regards, nielsvdv

I'll take a look! I know there is a regulation for the truck's wide (24-25 studs), but is there a regulation on the length?
November 1, 201113 yr Thanks! I'll take a look! I know there is a regulation for the truck's wide (24-25 studs), but is there a regulation on the length? depends on what rulez you use. my tatra 8X8 for example is 28 studs wide, but the belgium rules let the 8X8's an bigger go to 28 studs, the rest 25 studs. this is if u build on the studs, if you build by scale (1/13) the tatra 8X8 is allowed :) the length not really, but the bucket or space in the back has a regulation, i don't remember howmany Edited November 1, 201113 yr by nielsvdv

Where could I find the bucket or space in the back?
November 1, 201113 yr Great thanks! Where could I find the bucket or space in the back? the space behind the cabin, till the very end of the truck. it was, i think 20 or 25 studs minimum, anybody can help or am i wrong about the studs? Edited November 1, 201113 yr by nielsvdv

Could you give a little more info please? Thanks!
November 1, 201113 yr I'm not sure I understand how your gear box works! Could you give a little more info please? Thanks! which one? the 3 speed of the smaller 6X6 tatra has a building instruction on my brickshelf. the 2 speed in the tatra 8X8 is a modded version of sariels 2 speed gearbox, gearbox in the middle, the 2 xl's between axle 3 and 4( smaller and better weight distribution.). the xl's slide togheter with the sliding of the gearbox. the 2 XL's also work independant of each other, they are always in the same gear, but the left xl propels the left tyres, the right.. the right :) so as you steer, you can steer further. you can use tanksteer, or if u want to go to the left, you only drive the right tyres, or left to in bumps....... very handy on tight sections :)

November 2, 201113 yr @ snowman007_22: Have you seen Nico71's "TTools"? "TTools is a simple web software which calculates some usefull data for TruckTrial and Lego vehicles." You can toggle between the original French text (below) and the English text by clicking on the French or British flag at the top-right corner of the webpage.
November 2, 201113 yr Ok thanks! I saw some video earlier today and it help! I have started somme part of the front axel! good luck :p it is a pretty big and complicated build i you want to ad harder suspension, don't change the 9.5l's! you just ad a rubberband on the underside of the axles, to they get pusched togheter, so it is in fact adaptable to any given weight :)

I have to finish studying for my mid-terms first! I'm not sure about your suspension explanation and rubberband adding! Do you have pictures? @DLuders: Thanks! I'll take in consideration before building!
