Posted October 31, 201113 yr EDIT 8/11-2011: Freight-waggons appended to the first post! Hi all, I am currently building some french trains to go with my "MegaMOC 2011" diorama of the (fictious) french town "Royville" anno 1967. I will be presenting the finished models in this thread. (A special greeting to Eurobrick fellow Zorbas; you were right; the trains should go in a separate thread here. Sorry about all the fuss!) First off; The SNCF railbus X3800 -also known as the "Picasso"; The model is 7-wide and 57 studs long. Some close-ups; The model is extremely low, leaving only 1 plate of free air over the rail... Motorization is PF with RC; -It can negotiate the sharp Lego-curves, but wen travelling across switches, the throwing lever must be pointing AWAY from the curve. Otherwise no problems, and it goes like a rocket. Finally, a link to a photo of the real thing, for its comparisson; ############################################################################# 8/11 2011 Freight waggons ############################################################################# I´ve build no less than 6 different freight waggons. They are 7-wide and some of tehm weighs quite a lot. I doubt if I will be able to run them all at once... First off a somewhat swiss-looking closed box car; Second off a refridgerater car; Third, a french state-company car; (The snot-lettering causes this car to weigh a LOT...) Fourth off, a 4-axle open goods car (loaded with coal); Fifth, a little eye-candy; Sixth and final waggon; Some of the longer 2-axled waggons are equipped with a system to help navigating the closed LEGO-curves; Edited November 8, 201113 yr by Hoexbroe
October 31, 201113 yr This looks great, nice train en good building . The train looks really good and The engine is nicely built in. gerard
October 31, 201113 yr I thought it looked a bit too long but seeing the original it is spot on. Am I right in assuming the dome structure is for the driver to sit in or does it have some other purpose? Nice model, just like the real thing. Any more in the pipeline?

Yes, the dome is for the driver, who doesnt have to change place for the train to go "backwards". And yes again; I´m working on a freight-train too! Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow. October 31, 201113 yr AWESOME train 'Hoexbroe' and excellent designing to cure the Lego curve problem. I can't wait to see the freight train.....Brick On 'Hoexbroe' !
November 1, 201113 yr Very nice, very realistic railbus you have there! I like how you did the "low-rider" trucks on it as well.
November 1, 201113 yr WOW, great realization! This is easy to appreciate but is not easy to build ...incredible the long red tiles to hide the motor bogies! Totally cool (SNOT technique everywhere)!
November 3, 201113 yr Nicely done. This is a really good representation of the real train. I am impressed. And especially by the way you did the bogies. Ingenious!
November 4, 201113 yr Very Good Hoexbroe! This is one of the best MOCS I have ever seen. However, the title says French Trains around 1967, and I was wondering if you are doing more
November 9, 201113 yr Superb selection of freight waggons. Also nice solution to the articulation of 2-axle chassis, I think I'll try that.
November 20, 201113 yr Now I can understand what "MOC expert" means These rolling stock ultra-detailed are totally cool!
November 29, 201113 yr Very nice creations, 'Hoexbroe'! Especially on the SCNF X3800. That is an awesome remake. Keep up the fantastic work
December 14, 201113 yr This is my second post ever: I can't believe what you've done: It's beautiful!!! I was 2 years old in '67 and in '69 flew from LAX to CDG, where my french grandmother picked me up and brought me to my grandparents house in Sable-sur-Sarthe...we rode in the very front of your Picasso. It is my VERY oldest train memory!!! The feeling of looking down the rails as we journeyed across the french countryside has never EVER left me. When we got off at the station in Sable, I would swear that every single other wagon you modeled was sitting in the yard...unbelievable!!! You're an artist and it's touched my heart. Thanks!
December 21, 201113 yr Author Thanks for the words everybody! Hannibal; Thats a very touching story; Thanks for sharing! I hope to present the whole MegaMOC 2011 diorama before we actually get to 2012. Am currently working far away from home, and havent been able to post much for some time now.
