Voodoo Hand Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) A brand new item that I finished not long ago, although It does have things missing that are not in LDRAW unfortunately, it still looks pretty good. It is based on a plain tower with starfort points/towers added. Including a little bit of interrior and gun powder rooms. The star points can be opened simply by hinges. But besides that there is not much done for the people that want to play with it. It was actually not created to be played with I will however see when I can make a play version so there is easy access to the inside areas. It was created because I found that the Armada never really had much in the official LEGO sets. So a new set may be fun to have. I did place the instructions on brickshelf for anyone to download (LDRAW versions only). Pictures are to big yet again, so please see the links below for that Brickshelf Folder MOC Pages page Edited November 7, 2011 by Voodoo Hand Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 4, 2011 Governor Posted November 4, 2011 The Imperial Armada definitely needs more sets and this is a worthy addition! Unfortnately in terms of official sets, this would be far too brick intensive... On a side note, threads usually receive much more attention with at least one picture at the top. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 You've added a picture which is great, but please re-size it in accordance with the sure regulations. 800 x 600 is the max image size allowed. It is an awesome fort though. Quote

ZCerberus Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 The LEGO Armada line was indeed much too short. I like the new parts mixed in with a very "calssic" style. I agree with Phes that this would be too part intensive to be an actual set, but with some modifications, I think it would fit in the old Armada line. Quote
Kerntechniker Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Awesome. Me first thought was that it would be perfect for a harbour entry as a sort of protection. So for me it is great. Well I don't think TLC will ever make it an official set, but that's not important. I think most of the MOC ships will never become official, too. For the same reason. Quote
Skipper Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Very nice! A great inspiration for me, I've been working on a series of classically styled MOCs. I love the unique shape of your fort, and the Armada colorscheme is beautiful. It's one I've often overlooked, and I think I might start using it more often. I think this would actually be viable for production if you replaced the brick walls with wall panels and untiled the crenellations. And while I'm here, I'll just say that I loved your old add-ons to the Soldier's Fort. Edited November 5, 2011 by Skipper Quote
Hiawatha Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 This is very well designed and built. I love that you added the green and white colorscheme, it really reminds me of the classic Armada. Keep up the great work! Are you planning on building this? Quote

Yeah I am aware of that, unfortunately the size of my pictures are kinda huge which made me not add one. For more sets, well there is a big fort in the making for the Armada faction! Havn't done much so far though, just a basic idea list is made and some small things are created. You've added a picture which is great, but please re-size it in accordance with the sure regulations. 800 x 600 is the max image size allowed. It is an awesome fort though. Actually, it wasn't me that posted that picture But Ill see if I can post a resized picture without it getting to blurry @ZCerberus Ill see if i can change the brick count for a second version, I wanted to add a rowboat and a palmtree anyways. So this i can take along with the project! @Kerntechniker It was indeed based on a role like that @Skipper Well thank you, loved making the old Imperial Starfort for that official set! I did have thoughts of updating it though. Also happy to see some people draw inspiration from my work! @Hiawatha Wish I had the LEGO to do so, then I would really make it indeed! And happy you love it! EDIT: picture changed to 800x600, bit blocky and blurry as I feared though Edited November 7, 2011 by Voodoo Hand Quote
