kabel Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 You might always use them as an enemy anyhow, given the task that was asked for in the latest challenge!
I Scream Clone Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Great to see plenty of good-natured ribbing going on. I have handed down a few new titles to some of you as well. Keep enjoying Historica, and who knows, if you guys decide to organise a mini-challenge, you should invite the guild leaders to take part too! We do have something big coming in another theme by the middle of the year, so stay tuned, but Historica is yours after all.
Maxim I Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) "Hippy Kicker" => Awesome I really wonder what the another theme new big thing will be I had myself an idea a few months ago for the City subforum, but I forgot to post it (it was something about gang wars / mafia / ... . So the criminal side of a big metropole. Anyway, now I think about it, it would be very difficult to really realise this while making it very interesting for a long period) Edited January 13, 2013 by DaMaximus
SkaForHire Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 "Hippy Kicker" => Awesome HAHAHAHAHAHA. Nice! you better moc that one, if you have any Johnny Depps lying around, you have some dreads to use. Great to see plenty of good-natured ribbing going on. I agree about the mini-challenges, we need to let the GLs get in on it too.
Kayne Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I agree....while GoH has been fun, I do miss the MOC's by the guild leaders as well, and would love to get them more involved in that aspect again. Plus, the building is probably more fun for them!
Maxim I Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 @Ska, perfect idea! I can use the hair of Johny Depp or I can use the real (CMF)-Hippy

Keep enjoying Historica, and who knows, if you guys decide to organise a mini-challenge, you should invite the guild leaders to take part too! I'll have to do something outrageous; getting tired of my current title! We do have something big coming in another theme by the middle of the year, so stay tuned, but Historica is yours after all. Can't wait to see what that is! As for BB, checking out his posts, it seems the culprit post may have been the one in the historic themes that he made yesterday not this one. He was pretty harsh towards other members. Uh oh. I think in GoH it's not a problem when he does that, as we pretty much all know and love him, and don't really take offense when he gets riled up. But in one of the larger forums, where not everyone knows him... I hope he doesn't get too frustrated with EB, and rejoins us quickly. I think he's a great asset, both from a building perspective as well as conversationally. I am willing to step up after the official challenges end and with a few others start a new storyline if we want. I was going to offer this after the final challenge, but might as well drop it now. I can't really always offer prizes for challenges, but could throw some money in the pot. I would suggest, if we do a "Historica: Book 2" that we do not start it until October, when people start to come back after summer. So in-between the end of "Book 1" and "Book 2," free builds would probably not be scored. Speaking of scoring, it seems that we have 4 very top-of-the-line builders scoring builds now. I am not a top-of-the-line builder (maybe medium skill?), although I can recognize quality. Still, I rather we have a few top end builders on the judging panel, even if that rotated from challenge to challenge. I guess what it comes down to is, who is planning on sticking around after the end? And, who can recruit to come back / or be new participants in the next chapter of Historica? I am planning on sticking around. I might have more time on my hands, depending on what happens on Monday! I think that when the inmates take over the asylum after Challenge VI, we should divide up the various 'leadership' roles more and rotate them around. It's clear that the burden of leadership was a bit heavy on the guildleaders. If we split up the duties a bit more, then people won't get overburdened, and if we rotate them around, then people won't get too d of them. I'm certainly willing to step up and do my part.

Si-mocs had something up in the Sci-fi forum about some gate in 2013... I was curious what that was, and believe me, I still am. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. I'd be one of the first to join. I just started MOCing in the Sci-fi genre and I'm lovin' it. Here's hoping! Edited January 14, 2013 by Penkid11

They can do the same like this in the sci-fi forum (but then with planets and alliances)... That would be more than awesome But again on topic now: Does the break of CBB change something in the Avalonians plans (more exactly their war propaganda)?
Legonardo Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 nah, Avalonia will turn out top, all the other wussies will be left pathetically in the dirt (sand snow and carcasses) that sci-fi Idea is wicked, ill just have to build twice as fast
PenPlays Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Pirates of the Carribean Blackbeard's legs and torso Ninjago Sensei Wu's head Black wizard hat White wizard beard Black cape
de Gothia Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Thanks! Blackbeard was one expensive fella though!

His comments in the Hobbit thread were a little over the line so I can see why the Mods took action, but I very much hope he returns soon....in the meantime, I hope his build points for the Hippies don't retrospectively vanish.... Really enjoying my Sci-fi micro build, it's so different. Have to admit, it is taking over Historica build time though. I hope a lot of Historicans will come through the Gate if it's the same deal - or maybe the Sci-fi version will have some elements of the LCC game which appears to have kept some of our former members. Anyway, I'm sure it will be awesome. Edited January 14, 2013 by robuko

Yeah, if they did something similar to Historica over there, that would be awesome. But bad for me... They can do the same like this in the sci-fi forum (but then with planets and alliances)... That would be more than awesome I would go broke trying to buy enough sci-fi elements to participate. I don't know if my Fiance will accept moving wholesale into another theme. But I had so much fun here, that I would want to keep with everyone. I'm excited by this too. Lego is in such a sweet spot for Space right now with all these awesome figs. ZCerberus Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I like my title too. You Kalphlings... such... well you know what you are.
Maxim I Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) @Ska, I am staying here, and I am pretty sure most of us will, even if there is something going on at the sci-fi I don't own nothing myself of sci-fi (except a few Star Wars stuff, but I don't want to tear them apart as it costed me weeks to rebuild all the original sets ) Same as for the micro sci-fi contest. But it's fairly easy to build something for it. I got will upload my entry around Thursday or Friday and you will see, almost all the bricks I use in it will be used in a future GoH MOC @Z I really have to make a MOC with Damaximus kicking an Avalonian hippy :D Edited January 14, 2013 by DaMaximus
kabel Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Strange title I got there now, but thanks anyways ... As far as Sci-Fi goes, I've never been a fan of it, and I will never be. So here, town, or pirates it's gonna be. However, since the intensity of the GoH experience was so high, all the castle stuff (minifigs, weapons etc.) now totally outnumbers the town and pirate material I've got in my collection. So GoH it's gonna be most of the time.

Allright seriously, it's getting time that my exams are done, the level of my humor is reaching dangerous depths...
robuko Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Good news, looks like CBB's status has been upgraded a notch. Rooting for ya!
Bob De Quatre Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hi there, Where can I find a big and beautiful map of Historica? I'm thinking of a project for next month, but I need a good map of Historica Or maybe a general map of the continent and detailed maps of Avalonia, Mitgardia, Kaliphlin and Nocturnus...
PenPlays Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Well there are maps on page one of every Guild. I do believe, though, that there is a full map on the GoH wiki.
Brickington Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Historica Map by nice.marmot, on Flickr I asked the same question a couple months ago, so here is the answer I got! Edited January 16, 2013 by Brickington
