kabel Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I actually didn't use it since its not pinned. On the other hand thought, there already is a whole bunch of pinned threads. Why can't you merge this with roguang's moc index?
Derfel Cadarn Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Awesome display of builds from all the guilds, you guys have all improved and excelled as builders! GOH is a wealth of amazing builders and builds, you should all be very proud! I'm sure GOH has a bright future ahead, the main challenges are over for now but they will return in the future! I can't speak for the other guild leaders but I will continue to build for GOH, I havn't even finished chapter 1 of my story yet! Hopefully myself and a few others will be able to set up another run of challenges in the future but for now, GOH is yours to go nuts and build without worrying about deadlines. So use this free time to expand your lands, build epic stories and have fun! One question springs to mind though. Was Victor Revolword the real evil? Or was he just a pawn working for some higher super evil?
robuko Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Was Victor Revolword the real evil? Or was he just a pawn working for some higher super evil? In one of my early draft plotlines, Victor was working for King Darconius. I couldn't really come up with motivation I liked sufficiently- to undermine the Guild Lords wasn't good enough, it would have to be very personal. I gave this up as I thought it's a bit too tropey.
Kai NRG Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I actually didn't use it since its not pinned. On the other hand thought, there already is a whole bunch of pinned threads. Why can't you merge this with roguang's moc index? That's not a bad idea. I had considered asking for it to be pinned (and it had been suggested before), but like you say there are already a lot of pinned threads. I don't find it terribly time consuming, but it is somewhat complicated to know what to include, what's not important, and where the person actually is. I myself used it quite a bit, both as a handy reference for names (if it weren't for that I would have to rely on my memory and the few names I had picked up... but for example who would know that Legonardo was the Lord of Gelvim?) and as a general background for the characters. Perhaps it would be a good idea to just have the character's background rather than trying to keep it up to date with all that is happening to them. That, and (where available) where they are currently plus names & backgrounds for the major secondary character would be easier to update and probably just as useful. @ Gideon, yes, the wiki would be a good place for something like this, but it is mainly a EB project, and my guess is a lot of GoH EBers won't really want to create a Wiki account or keep their page updated... and in general, though I've used the wiki extensively myself, I doubt too many (non-Kaliphlin especially) have. On the other (Victor Related) note, just judging by what he has said, he does appear to have been the real evil, though of course that is open to interpretation, and it would certainly have been/would be an interesting twist to have somebody/thing worse behind it all!
PenPlays Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 One question springs to mind though. Was Victor Revolword the real evil? Or was he just a pawn working for some higher super evil? I was going to answer that with my Ch VI builds, but we all know how those turned out... Anyway the plan was to combine the story of the Guilds, with two official Lego storylines in one fell swoop with this higher-up villain. Keep in mind that this idea is not at all forgotten, and will be used regardless of Historica's future.
Ecclesiastes Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I actually didn't use it since its not pinned. On the other hand thought, there already is a whole bunch of pinned threads. Why can't you merge this with roguang's moc index? Agreed, it shows us a overview of links to the mocs already from every person. So adding a bio would be a good idea. Awesome display of builds from all the guilds, you guys have all improved and excelled as builders! As said so many times before:"Amen!!" The entries are all stunning. I think these creations are even better than the annual CCC and those are already outstanding. Excellent job all, feels good to be part of such a devoted group builders with great skills!
kabel Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 so how many builders actually entered all six challenges? In Mitgardia it's just Eccs and me, soccerkid did build a tower, but didn't manage to post in time for the first challenge to end. How about the other guilds?
Kayne Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I missed challenge 1 and 5 for Kaliphlin. I signed up too late for #1, and had the health issues with my wife during #5
ZCerberus Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 dG, MikeyB, rogueang? and ZC for Avalonia. I think LD missed one. Robuko and Eryn... Did they make all 6 for Kalphlin.
robuko Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) ^ I count rogueang for 6/6 challenges. Erynlasgalen and I are the Grand Knights of Kaliphlin! Quite a few guys signed up after Challenge 1 but participated in all the builds after that eg Masa of Kaliphlin, soccerkid, KaiNRG, Torgar (apologies to other I have missed). Edited May 5, 2013 by robuko
soccerkid6 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 @robuko: Actually Legonardo and I joined before Challenge I, Legonardo even made an official entry. I made an entry (and posted it in the Mitgardian thread), but didn't give it it's own topic so it didn't count
Erynlasgalen Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Robuko and Eryn... Did they make all 6 for Kalphlin. Yup, just barely made this last one- but I did them all!
robuko Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 @Soccerkid - Apologies. in my book you are one of the Great Lords of Mitgardia. My Lords, The desert is an infinite and lonely place, and one can be prone to visions there. This night I was visited by a ghast or vision, it seemed to me to be some kind of Drow Spirit. It said: There is another Great Lord. One who has been with us for all six challenges, although for the last two, he was banished to the Shadow Lands. Thus he could not compete, but did enter, and the entries were: Challenge 1 - Tower of Ashaba Challenge 2 - Llurth Dreir Challenge 3 - Elesee-Luna Challenge 4 - Waterdeep Challenge 5 - Netheril And for the Challenge 6 - Sword coast (Sshamath) All can be found here: www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Angeli So saying, the creature put these dark visions in my brain and I cannot shake them, nor can I stop hearing the word, until I set them here to canvas. Sshamath...
Maxim I Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) Those dark and friendly creatures also came to me last night, but looks like Robuko was awake before me Already when my tradecaravans arrived at the construction site a few months ago, it was looking really promising and those drow-architects didn't disappointed me with the result! edit: about the discussion itself I participated in 3/6 challenges (2,4 & 6). Challenge 1 was made as a freebuild a few months later (my tower), challenge 3 became Everlast and real life came between my and chall V. Edited May 6, 2013 by Damaximus
ZCerberus Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 ^ I count rogueang for 6/6 challenges. I knew I remembered 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, but I was a little fuzzy on five. Then I did recall the build. It used those slick skateboard ramps again.
ZCerberus Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I'll be adding all your MOCs to the judging scoring sheet in the next couple days (I am giving them links and such to make it easier to tabulate since the scoring on this is a little different than before with the more points offered up). I'll also try to comment on the ones I missed while trying to get my own entry done. I am also IMPLORING all the non-GoH history fans to get in here and check these beauties out. hopefully some of your peers will notice how crazy good these entries were. Great job everyone!

Great job everyone! You got me. I'm sold. There is so much good stuff in here that I had no idea I was missing! So, someone please point me in the right direction. Do I sign up here, in my chosen guild's thread or both? :) Now to learn how to photograph my sigfig... welcome already! you will have to sign up in one of the 4 Guilds :) Don't choose the Guild by looking to it's popularity, but choose a Guild based on what challenge you want to give yourself as every guild has its specific buildingstyle!

Maxim I Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Thanks! I spent a good deal of time yesterday reading up on the different guilds to help me make my decision and today I picked up a couple green flags... If it is as in "Avalonian green"-flags, I would say it is too bad Thanks to DC, ZC, dG, LD, Rogueang (who all are Avalonian) and so on, it is very difficult there to really create your own style
Str0ngbad Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Nope, just standard green (I already had a couple yellow ones). I saw that Avalonia was packed but Mitgardia had my heart anyway. Do you know where I can find the photography tutorial? I know I've seen it around here somewhere but now that I need it, I can't remember where.
synbiote Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 alright.. Thanks to Damaximus i'm here.. Now to get myself going with that sigfig thingy..
kabel Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 but Mitgardia had my heart anyway. excellent choice you made there!!

Aw well, welcome anyways even though you picked the wrong guild... actually I think the Avalonia is full thing is old... they should really take it down... it kept me away! (I don't remember seeing a photography tutorial - except in the RA - though).

Definitely the right choice Looking forward to your character introduction. And here's the topic I think you're looking for: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10520
