JoeMI6 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Here is the info that was recently added to Wikipedia: On September 14, 2006, Nintendo announced that Wii will launch in Japan on December 2, 2006 for JP Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Man, I can't wait for tomorrow... Quote
mutley777 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 a nintendo machine launching in the US before japan. that is strange! Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Strange, but true ;-). Amazon has the european Wii release date down as November 24th, seems like a good estimation. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 US Wii Press Conference This page has some fantastic news about what we can expect from the Wii. Quote
optimus-convoy Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Finally, a price and release date! I cant wait. *sweet* Quote
Lost Viking Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I think Nintendo will be launching the Wii in Europe in March 07, why? Read this- IGN I do not know why Nintendo would do this :'-( Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Well, we get the actual news today, maybe this is just Argos trying to second guess it. It wouldn't be the first time they've got it wrong. They had the Mario Kart DS release down as a couple of weeks early, I went there, only to get disappointed, I wouldn't trust much on the other hand until we hear it from the horse's mouth today. Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Oh sure, you have the news, but how many of you were up at 1AM EST constantly pressing the refresh button as the conferance happened in real time? :-P I can't wait...Fire Emblem, SSB:B, SMB *wub* Quote
Jipay Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 that's the next nintendo console. It has been called the revolution for some time but ended up being called "WII" As for Europe being screwed on releases, I don't see what's strange, we're always ! One day will come when Africa will get stuff before us... I don't really have an idea on why though... We always get the worst prices. This should mean we have more money, then why waiting to take it ? Oh well... Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Australian release: December 7. Seriously, if even Australia gets it earlier then us (with the rumors of a March 2007 release and all), I'm not going to forgive Nintendo. Quote
UltraPrime Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Should be announced any minute now. I'm hoping this will be on Xmas list... EDIT: UK Launch Date: Dec 08 Price: Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 For the rest of Europe, it's 250 Euro (Wii Sports included!) Games will be between 49 and 59 Euro. Quote
Jipay Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 the time of the 80 euros super famicom seems so far away :-D Quote
Zane Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Not a bad price, and good priced games. I'll get it, but I'm not sure when - I'm only really excited about SSB:B... Quote
Lost Viking Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Okay, that makes me feel better. Wow, I am so excited! I can't wait to play SSBB online with you guys! Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Neither can I! And I'm getting it the day of release!!! Oh yeah, and LV, Argos was wrong, as I predicted ;-). Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 But wouldn't you have preferred if it was right? I mean, that's a full 2 weeks ahead of what the release actually is... Good news. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 But wouldn't you have preferred if it was right? I mean, that's a full 2 weeks ahead of what the release actually is...Good news. No, you are thinking about Amazon Lord T. Lost Viking had pointed out that Argos had said the Wii would be launching in March 07. Go back in the topic to see... EDIT: I've just preordered my Wii and Twilight Princess. December can't come quickly enough... Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I've pre-ordered mine a while ago. Now I'll just need to call tomorrow and add Zelda, Red Steel, a second controller and a classic controller to that. That's makes about...420 Euro...ah well X-D Quote
Lost Viking Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I've pre-ordered mine a while ago. Now I'll just need to call tomorrow and add Zelda, Red Steel, a second controller and a classic controller to that. That's makes about...420 Euro...ah well X-D Hehe, yea. I am getting- 1 Wii- $249.99 1 Excite Truck- $49.99 1 Monkey Ball- $49.99 1 40 000 point card- $40.00 1 classic controller- $19.99 Having your brother and your dad buy Zelda, Red Steel, Far Cry, Dragon Quest, 2 Wiimotes, 2 Nunchucks and 2 classic controllers- Priceless :) Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Dragon Quest won't be a launch game. And since I'm into retro gaming and have all 'old' Nintendo consoles over here (minus the NES which I'm not interested in), I won't need those point cards except for the Opera Browser. Then again, I wonder what the Virtual Console will do to the prices of retro games. I mean, a Chrono Trigger/Earthbound/Mario RPG go for 40$-60$ on Ebay for the cart only. What if you can get them for 8$ on your Wii... Quote
Jipay Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hehe, yea. I'll probably getting the machine, and probably one game, that'll be enough :-) Quote
