I am also sure we had a similar thread. But anyway:

We had just watched Zorro, and given my tendancy for legendary exploits ( ;-) ) Someone scrunched 'Zorro' and 'Nathan' together to form 'Norro'. I like it and have yet to find it taken in the lego world... Unlike the rest of you I don't get much further online...

God Bless,

Nathan

I am also sure we had a similar thread.

Threads like these are bound to be repeated... on any board.

Let's see... I barely remember where mine comes from.

I used to play Starcraft (You know, that Space game with Terran, Zerg, Protoss, etc) on BattleNET, so I needed a username to match. "Commander Wolf" just happen to fit perfectly at the time, and I've used it ever since. That was like almost 4 or 5 years ago now.

Choosing a name is really tricky. When I wanted to get my game online I went through hundreds of possibilities. Mostly searching for available .com and 0 google hits (that's not so easy!). I wanted something symetrical so I made up oxonoxo, but I seem to remember even that had some google hits. Eventually I had to resort to joining two words. But probably I will change it again at some point since the game has gone from a hexagonal based system to more Lego brick orientated theme :) WhiteBrick maybe? Actually even using two words is a pain because then some places like wikipedia are case sensitive ie. whitehexagon and WhiteHexagon don't both work :(

I have some older names ie. cork and PaperClip (in Settlers III). but these days the simple names are impossible to grab so mostly I have different names for different services. Oh, now I remember my first nik was ACE, just because it was so easy to enter names into arcade machines and Spectrum 48 games I used to play :)) I'd forgotten that.

ACE = Angiotensin Converting Enzyme! As in ACE Inhibitors (certain heart tablets)

I sense a new title. :-D

I did think of that. But hey, it has to be better than Polyvinylchloride, doesn't it?

Mine's a bit like the "ACE" story.

When i was a kid, i was playing those arcade games a lot. Didn't really feel like putting in my initials in the hi-scores table (too far one from another) so as most do i mostly entered AAA or BBB...

Then i eventually wanted to be able to locate my score on the table so i went for CAB (it was what looked the most like a word to me - though i didn't know it was an actual word in english). It's been my gaming nick and then became my online nick in the early 90'.

Close friends then made it a little more friendly by calling me Cabby. There you are. :-)

ACE repsonds:

When I was a lad... actually we used to call just about everything ace for a while, just one of those playground words that caught on. What an ace time that was, ho ho, not!

Not forgetting ACE Rimmer from Red Drawf, was a pretty cool character. 'Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!' or something similar if I remember.

Kikuichimonji: I think I've seen the ACE multi vit carroty drink thing here in Germany, not been brave enough to try it yet. It would be a bit like buying a chocholate bar called Yummy!

oo7: Automatic Computing Engine, a 1952 British computer.

Secretly known as Asteroids to the developers ;) I bet this was the first arcade machine with a high score chart, hence the name ;)

captaintau: Angiotensin Converting Enzyme
would look great in a high score table! wish I could even pronounce it :)

btw. where did the name eurobricks come from?

I can say that my name applies to two things. Pirates and Star Wars, but it was originally Star Wars because of my love of the Imperial Scout Trooper. Lovely!

Great topic!

I'm an actor and my screen name comes from my two favorite roles from college

hinckley-John Hinckley, would-be presidential assassin in Stephen Sondheim's Assassins

39-Pontius Pilate, orders 39 lashes for Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar

I'm sure you had all been wondering...

Mainly it's due to broken ankle after a snowboarding lesson, and a pub crawl the same evening (Right after being discharged from hospital). Moving between pubs was a bit challenging for me, so every so often my friends would say "Come on Hobbles!". This progressed into Mr Hobbles. :-)
