Ragnar_Deerslayer Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 When I was in college (1998), I got in touch with some of my old roleplaying buddies from high school, and we decided to try a play-by-email RPG. My character’s name was Ragnar Deerslayer, so I created an email address with that username to be dedicated to that game. Fifteen years later, I’ve discovered that this name is seldom taken online, so to save hassle, I make it my default username wherever I go. The “Ragnar” part is from Ragnar Danneskjold, a pirate from Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged (an atheist conservative I loved in high school but have steadily grown to dislike) and from Ragnar Benson (a right-wing survivalist writer I loved in high school but have steadily grown to dislike). The “Deerslayer” part is from James Fennimore Cooper’s The Deerslayer (the character was a ranger, so a frontiersman was a good model), with the idea that the character might change his name to “Orcslayer” or “Trollslayer” or even “Dragonslayer” as in-game events progressed. Alas, gaming by email was more work than any of us expected, and the game died before a different epithet could be acquired. Ragnar Quote
Captain Settle Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I was in to Captain America when I made my profile (Not anymore) so mine was my take on it. I have been thinking about changing my name, but it's more hassle than it's worth. Quote
Tariq j Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 My real name is obvously Tariq, so when I was creating my account here I used that, however I feel "Tariq" sounds slightly incomplete and so I added "J" on the end, to stand for Jedi. Tariq Jedi, it does sound quite odd but when you shorten it to Tariq j it sounds better and complete. I chose "Jedi" because I am a big lego star wars fan. Quote
Omicron Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I've used Omicron prior as my online handle on other forums, so I kept up tradition. Originally from the BZPower forums. I thought it sounded cool, but turned out had some cryptic meaning behind it later on. My full name (first, middle, laster) has 15 letters in it, with my middle initial being O. Omicron is the Greek letter for O, and both are the fifteenth letters of their respective alphabets. They are also found near the middle of their alphabets. Omi is just short for Omicron. I started doing that because members kept misspelling Omicron, so I gave them an alternative to just call me Omi. 3 simple letters and it stuck after that. -Omi Quote
Blast Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 My Lego clubname was Blast475 as someone took the name Blast I liked the name because I just thought the word blast sounded so cool. Quote
Aeridian Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I wanted to start a flickr account, but I didn't want to be lost in the crowd of Legolords and Brickboys. So I just came up with Aeridian after a bit of messing around with names and letters. It's turned out to be my username on most Lego-related sites now. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Well, at the time when I made the account, I was more or less completely obsessed with Star Wars. I think that is all the explanation that is really required. On another note, how many posts do you need to make before you can change your username? I wonder because I'm planning on changing my username (which I'm not awfully fond of) to something which will describe me as a person better and for longer (I'm no longer completely obsessed with Star Wars). LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 On another note, how many posts do you need to make before you can change your username? It used to be available at Knight status (1,000 posts), in your profile options, useable only once a year. Now it is by request and decided "yes" or "no" by moderators. If you get your's changed, note that if you ever log out of EB, you have to log in using your first, original user name. (i.e. I have to use Leg Godt Gud, as opposed to the one you see). splatman Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) What's in a name? A rock band named Petra has a by that name. Are you ready? Alright, then, On your mark, Get set, GO! ( )Ok, here's what's in my name: Seen this show? Especially the Super Sloppy version of it? Probably watched every episode that was aired when Fox Network had it on broadcast TV back in '88. Family DD, also. My family never had cablevision at the time. It was a favorite show of mine, along with This Old House. What a combo! Now, I watch almost 0 TV. I built a DD set out of my LEGO bricks back in '98; too bad I never took a pic of it. Have not built any more DD-based MOCs yet. No, wait, I did: Joe Vig visits the Schleim Factory. I have seen a few episodes of DD 2000 when visiting those that had Nick GaS. My nickname is loosely based on it. I took it on sometime in Fall '04. I've considered other variations: Gaklander (Based on "The land flowing with slime and gak", a friend at church in '03 made that up; a parody of "The land flowing with milk and honey".), and others I could not remember at this time. Some people called me Slimer (of Ghostbusters fame), and Splatter. My splavatar (portmanteau of splat and avatar) is a splat of (insert your favorite sloppy green substance here) on the Physical Challenge floor. In case you've wondered, no, it has nothing to do paintballs. Never even handled a paintball gun. (Someone, somewhere asked me.) Now is the Slime to give it a Splat! It's Splat-astic! Totally Splat-acular! Edit on Feb. 4, 2015: Fixed the broken Obstacle Course music link. Edited February 5, 2015 by splatman Quote

TheLazyChicken Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Sorry to revive and old thread but I didn't want to make another one when there already was one. TheLazyChicken- this came up to me because my youtube account is LazyChickenFilms, so I got the idea from a youtuber and thought of doing an animal with a strange characteristic, and came up with this. Junpei Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 My name is TwentyLeggedHen- for no reason whatsoever. I just use it everywhere. I guess it's never taken though... TLH Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Freddy Bricker was a screen name I chose for multiple reasons. Well 2 actually, but who's counting? Anyways, I made this purist Freddy Kruger that I just fell in love with, and decided that "STSH2013Lego" was just an ugly name, who'd know how to reply to that, do they call me "ST" or "SH" or 2013? It is obviously hilariously (not really) awkward and who'd want to quote me with a name like that? Let alone, who'd know how? And then my middle name (and real life nick-name) is Fred, so did it fit? I would hope so, I wouldn't want to bother anyone again changing my name and I actually quite like this screen name. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Uh... Well, bricks and Lego and knighthood= Sir Brickalot And before you get your hopes up, I haven't had a knighthood Quote

Borador Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I could've swore I already posted here, but I guess not... Anyways, "Borador" is a combination of "border" and "Labrador." Used to refer to a dog that is a mix of a Border Collie and a Labrador Retriever. I had one since before I could remember. She's gone now (and has been for a while) but during her life I never knew that her specific breed mix had a name. A little while after she died, we got a puppy that was some obscure mix of an obscure breed, and while trying to find our new puppy's breed, I found that my original dog was actually known as a Borador. I liked the name- it was short, easy to pronounce, odd enough to be distinct (and is hardly taken), So, I started using it as a tribute to her. Variants of the name that can be seen elsewhere are: Borador M. (her name started with an M, and MOCpages requires you to have two names) Borador1 (I don't actually recall- I think just Borador was taken, or Flickr was being a jerk and made me put a number?) and BoradorIV (It was Classic Castle, so I figured I'd add a Roman Numeral to make it seem more like a monarchs title. The IV comes from the fact that was the 4th LEGO website I registered for) Quote
Cloveapple Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 My screen names are usually a combination of simple words. I like that the combinations have a simple feel, but (unlike most single words) combinations are likely to be available. Also, cloveapples are real things that I like. They are an old fashioned way to get rid of bad smells. You take an apple and stud it full of cloves till it looks like a (strongly scented) hedgehog. They are also a cool bit of history: 1) Nobility would sometimes carry a clove orange, clove apple, or other pommander and hold it up to their nose to drive out bad smells. 2) I'm pretty sure Laura Ingalls Wilder also mentions them. 3) I've made them. In fact, there's one on my shelf right now. Quote
Robin Creations Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Well, my name is Robin Creations because Nightwing is one of my favorite characters ( just in case you didn't know, he was the first Robin, as in Batman and Robin) and I love the rest of the Robins. Also because I had a friend named Robin ( and it's a cool name ). Creations because I'm a MOCcer ( MOCer?). Pretty simple . Quote
Lady_Scarlett Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Do I really need to explain? Come on, guys... Fiddle-dee-dee. Well, juste because she's an awful b*tch but a wonderful book and movie character and I'm quite jealous not having creating her Quote
JGW3000 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) JGW3000 - because we are so past 2000, also paying homage to the classic Sci Fi MST3000 television show, and my initials, JGW Edited February 6, 2015 by JGW3000 Quote
Murdoch17 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) I was pretty sure I posted here already, but I looked and couldn't find it. Oh well! Here's my story: Murdoch is the name of a Thomas The Tank Engine character I liked. I didn't care for the actual story he was featured in on the TV show, (he's not in the Railway Series, which is what the TV show is originally based on) I just liked the way he looked as a locomotive. (He's a 2-10-0 steam engine, a real life type that was the largest non-articulated in the UK, plus one of them was the last engine built for British Railways.) Anyway, I realized his TOMY / Trackmaster model (yes, I had a whole blue track railroad before I had that many Lego models!) didn't have a number on his tender like Thomas. I counted all the engines with numbers and came to around the number 13. So, I added a couple numbers to it and came up to 17, which happens to also be my favorite number. Fast forward a couple months to mid 2007, when I lost track of my old (pre-2005) Lego.com account password. I then thought of Murdoch and his custom sticker number 17. I put them together and that's where my username came from. I use it on these sites besides Eurobricks: Brickset, Brickset Forums, MOCpages, Flickr, Lego.com, and a few others. Iria Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 My name comes from a non-playable character from one of my favourite rpg game from close to 15 years ago. The character is actually named Iris, but the game was notorious for its typos. Iris lives alone at the bottom of the deep cave and is super challenging to beat. Her name shifts from Iris to Iria when she takes a more menacing pose which often resulted in her decimating my party. I currently have her gentle 'Iris' pose as my avatar. Quote
