conductorjoe Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Pretty simple. I was going to play a LEGO Train game on LEGO.com, I believe it was called "Heist on the LEGO Express", years ago. After playing it I decided to sign up for the LEGO Club for the second time(I had a previous account from about 1998), and since I had been playing the train game, I made it "conductor" and added Joe on the end. :-) Quote
tricalix Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I'm a big Bionicle fan, so I used Jaller Inika's mask name, the Calix. And three is such a common number, (the three little pigs, three blind mice, etc.) so that got the Tri. And Tri+Calix=Tricalix. I came up with the name in the first place because I was tired of being Kongu Inika on all the forums. Tricalix *y* Quote
red Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 well, as simple as it is, I named myself red, because of the color of my hair. Its also really easy to type X-D Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 (edited) M'aiq the liar Well, people who play The elder scrolls IV: Oblivion and the elder scrolls III: Morrowind should get my name. but just in case: M'aiq is a Easter egg in the games i mentioned (though he's so well known, he isn't a easter egg anymore!) in morrowind, he actually lied: "Horses.... Oh, M'Aiq loves horses! Especially with good cream sauce." -M'aiq the liar on horses, or lack thereof Whereas, in oblivion, he Gave the maker of the game's opinion on varios topics in the elder scrolls forums: "Some people want special bows that take too long to load and need special arrows called bolts. M'aiq thinks they are idiots." -M'aiq on the abscence of crossbows in oblivion So...there you go. Edited August 16, 2007 by maiq the liar Quote

PocasNuckie Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Well ... my nick (here! i have a dozen of others in other place of the net) is Pocas Nuckie. Pocas is a name my sister gave me to me when i was like 8 or 9. At that time, it was the duo Pocas&Nocas (Nocas beeing a female cousin of mine, that I am very close too). Nuckie is just some random cool name i choosed to accompain Pocas. I choose it , I think some 5 years ago, when I needed a name to hide behind, in the Internet Cheers Quote
KarlMarX Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 My nick is pretty straight foreward I think. I like him and his thought and books. As a child I already played elections and revolutions in my little Lego town :-D I'm often confronted with people who thinks he is a mass murderer and responsable for many deaths (committed under the name of Communism). But those people don't know history at all. Karl Marx was not a muderder and did never wanted his thoughts leading to bloodshed. He was a briljant man, with many knowledge about economics, sociological, politics etc. He just pointed out that is was not fair how labor workers where treated and exploided by the small economical elite of that time. Also he was a strong fighter for democracy and universal suffrage. Now enough of politics. I won't bother you again with it, but I needed to explain my nick. ;-) Quote
Asuka Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I'm often confronted with people who thinks he is a mass murderer and responsable for many deaths (committed under the name of Communism). Well, Stalinism should not be confused with Marxism-Leninism. Trotskyism on! X-D Quote
yellost Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Mine has a weird story, really... It's a bit of a private revolution against High school teenage customs and such... I mean, when I was in High School, You always had to be this 'cool' guy if you wanted to have lots of 'friends' and had to wear last fashion clothes and everything else from the 'being a perfect cool guy' encyclopedia (so I defenitely wasn't a 'cool' guy and I only had a few friends but at least I knew they were real ones, too). But if there's one thing I hate above all else, it's going shopping for new clothes... I dunno, I just can't stand it... Everytime I try, by the end of the day I always end up buying books or LEGO... So I have this tendency to keep my clothes for a very very (very?) loooong time... And my jacket tended to be rather worn out after a while (6 years or so). So my parents told me to have a new one (that's another useful thing I noticed : If I waited long enough, my parents become rather fed up with my worn clothes and THEY pay for new ones, whereas my sister keeps on going shopping at least twice a month and has to pay for everything herself :-P ). Anyway, I went to the shop (with them, this time, so I couldn't run away from the task) and I looked at all the jackets available... everything was so blatantly tern and colorless... It all went from black to white with a lot of variations of gray in between or some sort of faded red, but no color to really speak of... And when I looked outside the shop and everywhere else, it was just the same... Like noone wanted to stand apart or anything... just grays... Then in a really back alley of the shop, I found that bright yellow jacket (like LEGO yellow), like it was surrounded by some kind of aura and I just new I wanted that one and none other... Of course, afterward, at school everyone made fun of that jacket (I mean YELLOW! come on, I practically gave it to them) but at least I gave them some color to look at. But in Belgium, when someone doesn't fit in that 'cool' factor, people have that tendency to refer to them as 'lost' So there you have it : I'm the 'yellow lost'. Which is what I decided to call myself to show them the pride I have in not being drown in that mass consuming society. Then I contracted the two words and I thought it sounded nice as well, so I've had this nickname for about ten years, now... And I still have a yellow jacket. Since that day, I want only yellow jacket. And year after year, it becomes harder and harder to find a nice one... :'-( Quote
Asuka Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 And I still have a yellow jacket. Yellow lost and found on! *y* And we beat the fearwe came through the storm. Now it all seems clear we were lost and found The Kinks And The Kinks are cool! :-) Quote
TheFrisian Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Frisians are an ancient people that in Roman times inhabited an area along the coast of the Northsea from Belgium all the way up to Denmark. The Frisians have known some proud moments in history, usually booting some invader off their lands (among which the Roman Tiberius, who according to various ancient Roman texts gained a healthy respect for the tribes of the Frisii). Over the course of history, the Frisian territories were ultimately annexed and are now a part of the Netherlands and Germany. But even to this day the Frisians have a proud culture and a strong sense of their identity. The Frisian languages are still spoken in many of the former Frisian territories, among which the Dutch province Friesland, and Ostfriesland in Germany. As I have been born and raised in Friesland, the Frisian identity is strongly rooted within me. And when I was choosing my internet identity, "The Frisian" just had a nice ring to it ;-) Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Being a fan of Stargate SG-1, my original name was Captain Thok, back at BZP. I decided to join EB due to the influence of hewkii9 (former campmate) and "promoted myself". I then realized that Colonel Thok had a better ring to it. Which made me kick myself. And that's my story. :-) Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I decided to join EB due to the influence of hewkii9 (former campmate) and "promoted myself". But isn't a regualar Colonel a higher rank than a Leuitenant Coloenl? I may be wrong. ;-) But if thats the case, you demoted yourself. I dunno, I'm not into too much rank jargon! :-D Quote
Christian Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 hmm... My name? Christian is my real name. Im not very creative with names :-P If Christian is too boring you can allways call me Ejler, which is what all of my friends call me ;-) Quote

Paradosis Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 My name means tradition in Greek. I've been using the same screen name on various forums for 4 or 5 years now, so I just used it here as well. Quote

Opproperaar Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Of course, afterward, at school everyone made fun of that jacket (I mean YELLOW! come on, I practically gave it to them) but at least I gave them some color to look at. Then I contracted the two words and I thought it sounded nice as well, so I've had this nickname for about ten years, now... I don't really get what you mean by 'lost'? Were you in a snob school? I am today, they all speak French instead of plain Dutch. Not that I hate the Walloons or French speaking people or anything like that but when you're in Antwerp, speak Dutch! Anyway, my name comes from the fact I used ('till like a week ago :-D ) grow long hair and of course I'm an adolescent/teenager so you start to get more hair all over :-$ Anyways, my name is Ruben and since I had quite long hair and I was getting hairy and all, Hairy Ruben just was the name to go. Not that I came up with it myself, mind you. An English friend of mine did after seeing a pic of me. :-P Quite a simple, disturbing story, no? Quote
Asuka Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Quite a simple, disturbing story, no? So, Barbabeau/Barbouille would fit too I guess...? :-P Quote
Shadows Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 How did I ever miss this thread? imperialshadows ... it's something of a multipurpose thing. imperial 1. Simple Star Wars connection, not hard to imagine (and SW pulled me out of my dark ages and back into the wonderful world of LEGO). 2. Went into my dark ages right after starting the then (1989) new Pirates, with a special fondness for the Imperials. shadows 1. Bears a vaguely mysterious or unknown factor, not unlike myself. 2. Responsible for my original sigfig, who is a spy (or is he?) during the pirate era. 3. A slightly annoying (to others) habit of sneaking up on people. I'm stealthy, and known to step out of a shadow right on top of a person who never knew I was there. When you factor in my height (6'3") it scares the megablocks out of people, much to my pleasure. Put it all together and what have you got? A boring story. :-P Quote
