ApophisV Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Hi all, here are the first pictures of my newest project: F-109A Vampire class Space Superiority Fighter (class A): Its from the game Wing Commander Prophecy (1997)... I always liked that ship... ;) I need to rework the nose, because its way too wide.... And I still have no idea how to create the wings, because I haven't the parts that would be good for that job..... :| Quote
ApophisV Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 IM ON THE BRICKSHELF MAIN PAGE!!!! :D :D :D :D Lol, how funny.... Quote
Jipay Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 nice job so far. Maybe you could use the x-wing nose technique so it wouldn't be as wide as it is Quote
ApophisV Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 Hm... I'll think about this.... But the main problem is to get the gun part smaller..... Quote
jonfett Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Nice work so far Apo. Can't wait for the whole ship! Maybe for the nose, you could make it a little longer and use a bigger slope so it would look a little more longer, like the picture. And well done for getting onto the Home Page!.. maybe I will if I update a folder. Jon. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Yeah it looks pretty good. Never seen that ship before. I love the use of the 2x2 sloped parts Quote
ApophisV Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 I found out why I made the nose that big: While working on this I just looked at one particular shot of the fighter where the nose looks much wider than it is... ;) I think I'll have a try tonight to make it less wide... Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I cant wait to see the finished project! Quote
ApophisV Posted March 14, 2005 Author Posted March 14, 2005 Okay, finally I found time, bricks and inspiration to go on with this little project... ;) I'm not already finished, the engines still have to be made and I have to add some details / greeblings to the whole thing. I hope to finish it the next days, so (you know whats coming now... ;)) the next sunny day will be a day of maaaaaany pics of my creations!!! ;) Quote
ApophisV Posted March 14, 2005 Author Posted March 14, 2005 Huh, almost ready... Just detailing left... But I'll visit my bed now >-| Have a good night! ;) Quote
MattZitron Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 PREEEE-TEA!!!!!! Man, I have to sort all my lego bricks. Its getting stupid. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Hey Matt, join the club of lazy brick sorters ;) Quote
xxbattosaixx Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I've got an idea for the blue sparklyish parts on the wings. See this sticker sheet? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.as...asp?P=7467stk01 It's from this set- http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.as......asp?S=7467-1 Cut the stickers into diamond shapes, and draw the design on them with a black Sharpie. Then stick it onto a couple pieces,or you could secure it to a flag of matching color like the set. It would look great if you ask me. :) Quote
ApophisV Posted March 14, 2005 Author Posted March 14, 2005 Hm, good idea! I already thought about printing my own stickers for the insignia at the rear of the ship, so propably I'll print one sticker sheet when I completely finished the fighter. I'm very dissatisfied with the engines, they are too wide and not as nicely curved like the original, so I will do some rework on them before deciding what to do with the blue ellipses. Nonetheless thanks for the hint! :) Quote
xxbattosaixx Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 No prob. :-D I saw those sparkly thingies, and the stickers from that set just jumped into my head. Quote
A Plastic Infinity Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hm... I'll think about this.... But the main problem is to get the gun part smaller..... Use 3-stud diameter parabola pieces for the guns, they should do nicely. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I think there's a rule against reviving dead topics. And BTW, he's probably dismantled this already. Quote
