Bob Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 CHAPTER SEVEN - BORING! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was morning. The intrepid investigators gathered outside the town hall, as they had been previously instructed to do so. "What a boring night!" James says. "I agree. After these last few nights I was expecting huge bombs." Deputy Chief Scott says. "Look who I've found!" a voice calls. "You're back!" everyone says in near unison. "Yes. We're just a little sore." Officer Jackson says. "Now, I've got your win conditions. The townspeople must answer the following questions: 1) Who or whom killed Chief McGovern? 2) Why was the Chief killed? 3) How did he die? 4) When was he killed? "You may submit your answers at anytime from now until the end of Chapter Ten. However, if you guess wrong, you will lose. Bad things happen if you lose. " ~~~ Alex Jordan (cralegoboy) has 0 life points, and is dead. Ashley Baker (K-nut) now has 3 life points. Officer Steven Jackson (ProfessorFlitwick) now has 3 life points. Marcus Baker (CallMePie) now has 8 life points. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Players (14) Mr. Jack Montgomery --- Mrlegoninja Mrs. Julia Montgomery --- Dannylonglegs Jeremy Montgomery --- ADHO15 Mrs. Sarah Jordan --- Brickdoctor Mr. Winston Robertson --- Rumble Strike Amber Robertson --- Peanuts Officer Steven Jackson --- Professor Flitwick Ashley Baker --- K-nut Marcus Baker --- CallMePieOrDie Officer Ryan Hutch --- badboytje88 Mr. James Swanson --- CorneliusMurdock Robbie Swanson --- Jedi master Brick Deputy Chief Jackie Scott --- Fugazi Deceased: Police Chief Arnold McGovern --- def Mr. Alex Jordan --- Cralegoboy Rules: (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor and Red Scare Mystery) 1. There are 16 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. I will always give a detailed explanation of a room, however, feel free to ask for clarification. 3. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 4. Please try to avoid editing your posts. If you made a spelling error, simply post immediately after correcting your spelling error. If you wish to add more, a double post can be made, however use this rule wisely. Obviously, you may not make a quadruple post. Please wait for someone else to post before you post something else, unless absolutely necessary. 5. You can reference anything in pop culture, as this is being played real time. You can mention current events if you want to. You can use any electronic device that you wish to use, with exception. For example, you can’t take out your time machine to determine who the killers are. 6. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. However, you may not return to a room that you were already in, so ensure that you have searched every part of the room before leaving. 7. There are a few NPC’s in certain areas of the town. These NPC’s might have evidence, however they might not. Also, the evidence given by them might be false information. You cannot do anything other than talk to these NPC’s. You can only go and speak to them when you arrive in their area. For example, each NPC is in a certain part of the town. If you’re at point A, you cannot go and speak to an NPC at point B. 8. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. 10. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. 11. There will be a life-point system. Every player starts out with ten life-points, and regenerates one life point at the end of a chapter. For example, if you fall and twist your ankle, you’d likely lose one life point. If you fall off a boat into an engine prop, you’re likely to lose most if not all of your life points. Think logically. Perhaps walking along the rickety boards in the construction zone is not a good idea. 12. The host is usually always right. If you think he’s wrong, feel free to send me a message about it. 13. Most of all have fun. This game is meant to be enjoyable despite the "questionable" things occurring. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. Alex Jordan (cralegoboy) has 0 life points, and is dead. Ashley Baker (K-nut) now has 3 life points. Officer Steven Jackson (ProfessorFlitwick) now has 3 life points. Marcus Baker (CallMePie) now has 8 life points.
Jedi master Brick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Well, now we have our win conditions it is just a case of finding the facts. Placed I want to investigate: The Jordan residence; one dead soon after them breaking up My fathers home: Dad has motive but I hope it is not him but some of our links go there.
Professor Flitwick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 "Ow, I think 'a little sore' may have a been a bit of an understatement! Well, I hope you've made a lot of progress in our absence, but I see we actually lost someone in the skirmish yesterday morning. My condolences, Sarah." Feeling grateful that his life partner was still alive, Steve held her hand, and whispered a worried concern in her ear: "Ash, did the doctor mention any maternity problems that might have occurred from the shoot-out? "Right, well, whilst I wait for Ash ( ) to answer, we might as well go to a suspects house. Can't see what we'll yield; they'd be unlikely to keep incriminating evidence around their house. On the other hand, I've no idea what they'd do with it, so we might as well check out their houses."
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 "Right, well, whilst I wait for Ash ( ) to answer, we might as well go to a suspects house. Aww Steven! Id like to refresh my memory to answer Steven's () question.
CMP Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Sis! Bro! You're alliiiiiivvveee! I agree. I'd like to head to the Swanson house. The Jordans may be messed up, but they're cleared from 2 nights back.
Professor Flitwick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Sis! Bro! You're alliiiiiivvveee! I agree. I'd like to head to the Swanson house. The Jordans may be messed up, but they're cleared from 2 nights back. "Bro? Never had a brother before. I could get used to this new life! Hey 'bro', it's good to be back!"
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Sis! Bro! You're alliiiiiivvveee! Wait, what? No Star Trek reference? The gun wielding maniac must have done something to your head!
CMP Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Wait, what? No Star Trek reference? The gun wielding maniac must have done something to your head! Well, there was that one episode where everyone thought Spock died...
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Well, there was that one episode where everyone thought Spock died... Wasn't there a movie about that too? And you thought we were dead?
CMP Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Wasn't there a movie about that too? And you thought we were dead? I KNEW IT! I KNEW YOU WATCHED IT TOO!! I knew you were watching it behind my back! We are family!!!
Rumble Strike Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 "So the questions we are most able to answer at the moment are: 3) How did he die? Involved in a scuffle and fell into a fountain, banging his head 4) When was he killed? Chapter One
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I KNEW IT! I KNEW YOU WATCHED IT TOO!! I knew you were watching it behind my back! We are family!!! You made me watch it! Either that or you went rambling on about it one day, I forget which. Maybe you were rambling about the 7th one? I have no idea. Something with a hunky guy that got my attention. 3) How did he die? Involved in a scuffle and fell into a fountain, banging his head Nope! He stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating, duh!
Bob Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Aww Steven! Id like to refresh my memory to answer Steven's () question. "So the questions we are most able to answer at the moment are: 3) How did he die? Involved in a scuffle and fell into a fountain, banging his head 4) When was he killed? Chapter One Don't answer questions in the thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Aww Steven! Id like to refresh my memory to answer Steven's () question. "Well, considering I'm not pregnant, I am fine otherwise."
Rumble Strike Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 OOC: Sorry Bob, obviously those are not the answers of the entire group! Just wanted to get the "Chapter One" bit in, thought it was funny! Winston agrees that investigating the Swanson's house would be useful at this stage.
Brickdoctor Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 The Jordans may be messed up, but they're cleared from 2 nights back. We are? How do we know Alex was innocent? It could have been anything from scum killing their own to pure dumb luck that he was killed and guilty. But as long as we get there eventually, I suppose there's no harm in visiting another house first.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 We are? How do we know Alex was innocent? It could have been anything from scum killing their own to pure dumb luck that he was killed and guilty. I agree that the Jordans aren't exactly cleared but I'm fine with all of you investigating my place. I've got nothin' to hide.
ADHO15 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I suggest searching the Jordan's house would be a good place to start today, dudes.
Peanuts Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 We are? How do we know Alex was innocent? It could have been anything from scum killing their own to pure dumb luck that he was killed and guilty. Yes, I agree we shouldn't let Alex of the hook just because he's dead. It's not like killers were immortal. And he obviously wasn't killed on purpose. But I'm okay with investigating the Swanson Residence before we head to the Jordans' one.
Brickdoctor Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Can you come to a consensus? Everyone either wants to go to the Swansons' house or is fine with going there first as long as we go to my house eventually, so I think it's safe to say we're going to the Swansons' house.
CMP Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Well, wasn't Sarah there when she saw her husband get killed? She couldn't be either of them. And I doubt these two people are different from the two who killed the Chief... I vote for the Swanson Residence. If it makes you all feel better, we can search them later, but for now, neither of the Swansons have been cleared.
Brickdoctor Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Well, wasn't Sarah there when she saw her husband get killed? She couldn't be either of them. And I doubt these two people are different from the two who killed the Chief... But we don't know that there are/were only two scum.

If it makes you all feel better, we can search them later, but for now, neither of the Swansons have been cleared. And we still know that there was a person with brown hair involved, which, even if it doesn't affect the first question, still affects the second, the reason why the chief was killed. As there are only three people with brown hair among us, it can be either Alex, who is dead and was involved in the adultery affair, Jackson, who at least had something to do with the scum, as they tried to kill him too, and Dad, who seems unconnected to the crime, as we found nothing in our house and nothing else interesting which he would be involved into. In my opinion, he just seems to be a boring old man collecting junk, as we found absolutely nothing against him, and even the smartest killer must have left some evidence, otherwise we woudln't have any chance at all, IMO.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I vote for the Swanson Residence. If it makes you all feel better, we can search them later, but for now, neither of the Swansons have been cleared. Just to be clear, Robbie lives on his own now. I'm gonna abstain from voting since one of the potential places to search is my own. I'll leave it up to the rest of you.

I'll leave it up to the rest of you. Oh, I completely forgot about this. In this case, I'm all for going to Robbie Swanson's place first, as he's more of a suspect than James. How old is Robbie?
